I think my favorite thing about this is honestly when Ty says 'I just want to be a hot guy, like I want to have nice hot dude body'. I feel you Ty, I feel you.

Definitely understand the expectations thing, I just got my haircut recently and was expecting to look amazing and very masculine but I got my hopes up, as I only just barely looked androgynous (though that's better than feminine).

I thought that after my first haircut too, after mom said "You doesn't look masculine". But strange people thought I look masculine. :)

my two fav sweet boys! thank you for this series. im 17 pre-t but im starting in August, although the longer i wait the more painful it gets. im beyond grateful that people like you two are able to reveal vulnerabilities and open up to comfort / help your followers in a variety of ways. im proud of you two and everything you've been thru :)

Ty - I know that strangers' comments don't necessarily change dysphoria but maybe it'd be nice to hear that literally the first thing I noticed about your face was your strong jawline. Does not look even remotely feminine to me.

This has forced me to think about my situation as everything you mention about dysphoria I can relate too, I know for a fact that I'm non binary but I have no idea whether I'm ftm, genderfluid or just agender. Awesome video.

I started T a month ago (and no changes besides how my pee smells lol), but now that I've hit that milestone I can't stop thinking about top surgery (which my mom said I "can't tell my dad about"). So now I'm trying to find ways to distract myself from thinking about it. Sucks tho dealing with dysphoria and school; I spent all night listening to mary lambert and scrolling tumblr instead of doing HW because I was just so damn sad. Feeling better now but it's 3 AM and I have to go to bed so I can function at school :/

hey chase, your videos really help, I've recently come out to my parents (I'm 13) and we're gonna book an appointment with a gp to get a referral to a gender therapist in London (I'm from england) and hopefully my life can start properly there. You've helped me come out to my friends who are supportive. Thank you. I hope you're for the most part at least happy :) you deserve nothing less.

Chase, this was a very cool video. Thank you for sharing this and for the collaboration with Ty. I'm new to this community but I can feel myself connecting with what you two have said in this video. I'm also so sorry to hear about your depression. I've been dealing with that for years and it is the most difficult thing to deal with everyday! So I FEEL you. Thanks for being you, dude.

How is this almost two years old? This came out four days before I started T. What the fuck.

before and after or timeline type stuff is a really good one because I think a lot of us are in that place where we just feel too feminine and girly to be FTM. like we're trying to prove that were meant everything about us physically says "nope" and that feeling of sounding crazy when you tell people you're actually a guy despite the female body they can clearly see!
It's common to get stuck in that "yeah but I don't look like them" kind of scenario where you assume you're the only transman this strongly female looking/sounding but to remember that people who my have looked even more feminine than you are now passing 100% gives you hope that it's possible. the before picture proves that no matter how girly or feminine you might look you are still a man and someday it will show! It also kind of reminds you that regardless of transitioning we're all still men and you don't need T be a man. Making friends with other pre-T guys that might not look super masculine but you know are men can remind you to treat yourself with the same respect you would treat them.
but Yeah but the voice thing is still the absolute worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a RUclips gamer that doesn't talk! :,( cuz online is the one place I kinda pass and I don't want my gaming friends to think I'm a girl!

I love this so much because they start this video off so seriously and professionally, yet here they are 2 years later filming themselves in the bath, together, in their underwear, testing bath bombs.

Great video Chase and Ty. Brilliant to see a video regarding dysphoria and coping mechanisms. All trans people deal with it but it's not spoken about enough at all. It's great now that I have something to link people when they send me messages about how to deal with pre-t and during t dysphoria. Wondering though, do you know of any resources for trans women and non-binary dysphorics like this one?
Perhaps you could do a few videos on non-binary dysphoria, transition options with a non-binary dysphoric guest? Resources for non-binary dysphorics are few and far between and I believe you'd help a lot of people. I'm not non-binary myself but I believe there's a large issue within the trans community regarding the needs of non-binary dysphorics.

I agree with the having solved one problem the next just pops up so quick. Like when I got my binder a week or two later my anxiety was bad again. I realized that bottom dysphoria had hit hard even after fixing the top. Now I'm getting a packer and dreading what the next problem is going to be.

Chase, thank you for talking about how long it took you to heal from top surgery. I am healing slow and so many guys online talk about how they started working out after four weeks. I appreciate your openness with us all.

I'm 11 months on T and I haven't had very many changes. Its really disappointing to me that it's taking so long, I've never heard of it taking so long for anyone. My voice has only deepened a little bit and I still don't pass.

Adam Brandenburg Dude have you had your levels checked? A year is a long time, you should definitely have been seeing changes =/ Hopefully things have changed for you in the last few months since this comment, but if not I'd really suggest getting those levels checked out and making sure your dose is right.

Hey Chase, just wondering but, what about your period... sorry if its TMI... just wondering :)

    • @TheSLOfox
      @TheSLOfox 9 лет назад

      *****
Well, that can be complicated, because it depends on your T levels. I've been on T for 8 months and have had my period every month except for one of the earlier months, when my dose was at a supposedly unhealthily high level. Now my dose is supposedly healthy (not taxing my liver), but I guess it's not enough to stop my period. btw, I'm getting my levels checked soon and will ask my Dr. about raising my dose. I've also heard of many other trans guys who have had to deal with this too.

Surgery helps. Removing the whole female thing you have inside, and no period or pregnant would happening. :)
