2:27 It's because the pressure isn't even across the entire capo. Usually because of the neck shape. Some capos attack this problem by clamping really hard, others by being oversized.

The fun thing about the buzzie business you mention is, in other cultures like Africa, they love buzzies sounds. So, like on the imbira or thumb piano, they take pop bottle caps and nail them loosely to the face of the instrument so they buzz when you play.
On another head it would be Gr8 if you demonstrated, on this guitar thusly tuned, thumb under technique for the Renaissance stuff n a classical guitar.
    Thanks!

"lute tuning" is halfway to Oud tuning!
DGBEAD, or EAC#F#e- dropping both the D and G strings.
Both are just as fun and flexible as standard tuning!

Improvising in standard tuning in C,G,D,A,E gets a little boring. Lute tuning opens up so many possibilities in F,Bb,Eb,Ab which keeps things fresh. For some reason the open string minor D,F#,B sounds so much more melancholic and longing than an equivalent open Emin.

So, to summarize, just tune your guitar to E,A,D,F#,B,E and put capo somewhere where it sounds good and if someone asks "it's a historical thing".
If they don't stop asking about the historical accuracy of your tuning and pitch, you can probably still use the joker in the sleeve and throw in that you also need to tune the guitar with the capo because the frets aren't perfect so you need to fiddle around pulling the string in front and behind the capo to get them right and by now everyone has hopefully forgotten the historical accuracy of your tuning? 😄
