Revontuli is my favorite map in the game. I think it is the best looking map except for maybe Yukon, and the bird hunting makes it feel the most unique to me. I loved the bird hunting in classic and some of the spots on this map really remind me of classic. The yellow Aspen forests are how I always pictured Timbergold Trails in my head, and parts of the Northern pine forests really remind me of the Sequoia Redwood forests near where I live. I was super excited for the waterfowl rework, I wasn't at all prepared for how beautiful I find the map.
Scarecrow my friend thanks for showing and revealing to me and other players that the males at Willow Ptamirgan can make diamond. I’m on an almost impossible challenge: To get the all new 13 species with diamonds score on my Singleplayer. I already got Tundra Bean Goose, the first kill on the new map, Greylag Goose, Western Capercaillie and Tufted Duck. From the 6 reused or reintroduced species I got a diamond mallard who was in a “Deja vu” moment flying into trees after I missed him with the first shoot and got him with one lucky pellet without to hit a one of the trees where he went. Wish me good luck for this tough challenge.
This is one of my top maps now, I got my first and second diamonds ever on the map, a whitetail then a lynx! really like the nice run'n'gun area in the north part, and also really like all the bird hunting available.
This map will be a map I find myself returning to a ton in the future. Similar to SRP and mississippi, there are animals everywhere you go at any point in the day. It doesnt take drink zones to hunt animals efficiently, and with all of the cool birds, it is just so fun. - interesting note: you were saying how tree stand hunting ducks is unrealistic, but I have actually seen treestands set up for waterfowl in places where the grass is taller, especially in marshlands.
I love Revontuli, I think you get your bang for your buck, if not more. The high density of species always makes any hunt unique and fun. By far probably the best map for Moose, Whitetail, and Brown Bear too, which I love since I prefer big game. But with that being said, I thought the bird hunting would be boring, but this is the premier map to go to for it. It’s really fun and I get lost for hours blowing up waterfowl and upland species. By far one of my favorites besides Yukon.
I still don’t understand this. I live in an area with quail and have been pheasant hunting a dozen of times and rabbit hunting. No one hunts them without a dog. We need pointers for a new dog. That’s what like 50% of dog breeds were bred for to hunt these things because they are almost impossible without them unless you cage hunt. It would make it so much fun if they added them!
Love the map. Actually like the waterfowl which I wasn't really interested in at first. But definitely need some reworks with geese not lighting up and not trackable for the dogs. But it's a lot of fun

The map is my favorite. Do you know if they are going to fix the tripod's not showing up on the map? I have many of them on the other maps and it's hard to find them.
Is it possible you could make a guide for up land bird hunting in revontuli? The map has been extremely fun but sometimes it's difficult to find or even get a shot at some of the birds
If you just run along the trails you will 100% find all the upland birds. Personally recommend northern parts of the map. Getting a shot at them is another thing xd

That’s interesting that you haven’t gotten a brown hybrid diamond mallard. The only diamond mallard I got on Xbox was a brown hybrid. And my first diamond mallard on pc was a brown hybrid. I thought they were common lol
Revontuli is a nice map im really enjoying it, the only problem ive had is a bug on Xbox where some of the birds i shot just drop to the ground and dont let me pick the up and aren’t highlighted :/
Above, 300 is pretty big, average of moose is kinda different as diamonds are either diamond requirement-280 or 300-302 they never score between 280 and 290
I would recommend using Nordin SA20 20ga for its shot spread. I wait some time for ducks to stick closer to each other and hipfire or aim down and spam fire at them. Highest amount I got at the same time this way was 19. It's easy and satisfying.
I haven’t played it a lot it’s definitely not my favorite map but it’s very good for moose I wanted a few Canada geese but I can’t really find anything good even on new maps other than that I haven’t hunted it a lot but like it
I don't understand why they spent so much energy adding almost all the feathers on those birds and still being unable to make them realistic with models and behavior... You find Rock ptarmigan in deep forests and Capercaillies on top of barren mountains....so random

My only gripe with revontuli is that sometimes the upland birds flush from way too far. They can also smell you, for some reason.

Got my first diamond whitetail on Revontuli Coast.
There are some incredible spots for whitetail here, so far I am loving this map!!

I’ve noticed that the geese will drop before they are completely dead. I’ve had to shoot them on the ground very often

So far I’m absolutely loving this map. Been doing my whitetail grind on it and it has been treating me sooooo well
Same thing happened with the ptarmigan but it was a hazel grouse and the same day I got a diamond moose, a diamond lynx and an albino female lynx!
