They are playing at a Luxury Resort called Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas. The lead singer (Sammy Hagar) just happens to be the owner. He put this band together, with his famous drinking buddies. He opened a huge Tequila distillery in MEX, and sells it by the ship load. The people in attendance are guests at the high end resort, and Chickenfoot is basically the house band. Chickenfoot is what they call the Peace sign. Not bad for a band of buds, knocking back Shooters, with a slice of lime.
Something that always makes me smile about this video, and a lot of people don't even catch it, is Sammy reading the lyrics off a page taped down at the front of the stage for some of the song. Really noticeable during the second verse when he's on his knees. He pulls it off, though. Doesn't miss a beat! Reminds me of when I used to play in a cover band years ago. XD
A classic Deep Purple cover. Just awesome. The original was an organ solo by Jon Lord, which Joe covered in this one. Love the fact that Will Farrell was on drums while Chad Smith was filming Elf 😋😋 (Chad Smith is the drummer for Red Hot Chili Peppers) Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony (both ex Van Halen) have still got the chops. Great request Gman 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻 Joe taught Steve Vie and Kirk Hammett (Metallica) among many more
If Satch ain't the king I don't know who is. You may argue that he's not "the best" but there's no one better. You know the original is by Deep Purple right? oh you got to that.. The song Joe said that about is Crushing Day which he wrote sitting down. Nice reaction. 🤘💖👍
I know this is a late comment. But when your were talking about Joe saying some songs are easier sitting down .I believe He was talking about when He wrote the song crushing day and He wrote it sitting down. So to play the solo the right way He would have to sit down because the guitar was in a position to where he Could play all the way up the neck which would be hard to do with the guitar hanging down.
Yup... And assuming that you've said that means that deep purple are from the UK? I didn't even know that lol, the only experience I've had with deep purple is smoke on the water as it was part of a guitar lesson when I started learning

Sammy Hagar (the singer) was the guy that introduced Eddie Van Halen in that Eruption video.

Thank you! One my favourite songs! No one can do a good cover, I think 🤔.
I agree
You don't think this is a good cover? 😅 Covers don't always have to be clones.
One of the best covers, but the original is too perfect
I don't know the original I'm afraid 😁
@@infin8reactions Oh this most secret youtube song 😁
