I was 18/19 when this song came out.....BEAUTIFUL‼️I still listen to it over & over. Rick Stevens who sang it died in 2017 4 or 5 yrs after getting out the slammer which he was in for 35 yrs. Im glad he didnt die there but died with family around him
This is a TOP standard a song they've been doing live since 1972! The story for this song is band leader/founder of the band was in love with a girl a few years older than him. When she decided to break up she said those exact words "you're still a young man baby don't waste your time!.
Yess. Tower of Power. Another great Tower of Power song is "So Very Hard to Go." Lead vocals is Lenny Williams if you are familiar with the song "I Love You". I think you guys would also love to hear the vocals of Teena Marie" Out on a Limb" is next level as far as vocals go, crazy vocally.
1972, I was in high school. Tower of Power released this song. It was the first year there was no draft. That summer Palestinian terrorists murdered Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. The US Olympic basketball team (all college players) were hosed in the finals (after the US having won the game twice, the Soviets were given a third chance to score and did) and later refused to accept their silver medals. That’s what I remember the most.
Tower of Power's vocals, horns and overall instrumentation are legendary! Classic Soul Music at its finest! 🪩😊👏🏾♬🎤🎶🎸🥁🎷🎹💯
