I played an Ibanez ( plywood ) mandolin in a band 6 nights a week, nothing wrong with it, it played well, had a P/u and put through a decent PA with reverb and eq. Served me well for 2 years till I got my F5, and I am sure nobody in the audience could tell the difference.

I got a spongebob next tie on mine. Works great and was cheap at walmart. Goes perfectly with my martin backpackers mandolin.
