Berkamp, Kluivert, Davids,Vieri, Del Piero, Maldini, Zidane, Petit, Vieira, Battistuta, Crespo, Ortega , R9,Rivaldo, Bebeto.....the list goes on. From 2002 WC until present, the only one where there were quite a few exciting teams at the top was 06. Other than that, a good number of the traditional powerhouses were in a rebuilding or lull phase.

This man is an absolute legend. I remember the 1998 WC like it was yesterday even though I was very young at the time, but that squad had something no other team had at the time. It's heartbreaking to see what has become of France's national team in the recent years after all the legends retired. If we're being honest here and before someone jumps the gun and tells me "they were in the last Euro final", France should have beaten Portugal in because they had a much better squad and Ronaldo got injured in the beginning but they just weren't good enough and lacked chemistry on the pitch.
