  • Only a week after Malinô Brdo, we departed to one of the most iconic locations for Spartan Race in Europe for the 2024 Spartan European Championship - Zell am See-Kaprun, located in the middle of Austrian Alps 🏆
Apart from the magnificent scenery, the location has its iconic status for another reason: it is widely recognized as the most difficult Beast course in Europe. The race stats alone clearly show that the organizers and track builders wanted to deliver that experience to all of us who decided to conquer the European Championship race.
With the re-injured shoulder from last week’s race getting better every day, I was super excited for this one and the only thing that could have made the experience better would be racing together with Zuzana, since she had to opt for the Super course the next day for several reasons. On the bright side though, we could follow and cheer for each other during both days of this epic weekend 🎆
    Race Details:
🗺️ Location: Eventarea (Parkplatz) Baumbar, Sigmund-Thun-Straße 4, 5710 Kaprun, Austria
🌦️ Weather Conditions: Very warm with temperatures around 26 C, and clear skies throughout the entire race👟 Running Distance: 26km🗻 Elevation Gain: 2008m🪜 Course Obstacles: 34📷 Course Highlight: First time racing in this legendary location, and pretty much the entire course was one huge highlight in the middle of the Austrian Alps. If I must pick one, it would have to be the feeling after ringing the large bell at the top of the brutal climb 🔔
I must say that the course was 100% as challenging as promised, and I am positive that it was the most difficult Spartan race I ever run. Spending over 7 hours on the course, I felt every single centimeter of the race distance and elevation gain. With penalty loops and a few hundred extra meters I ran after taking a wrong turn at one point, I ended up running over 28 km and did over 2200 m elevation 😰
Still, immediately after I crossed the finish line I started thinking and looking forward to the next race, next challenge, next limit, next endorphin rush, and that irreplaceable sense of achieving something extraordinary. That is what hobby racing does to you.
Spartan Trifecta Weekend inn Bedřichov, here we come! Aroo!!!
