This man is one of the most humble persons ever.
I had the good fortune of actually speaking with him back in 2010's (I think around 2013 or so via Facebook) and he is a delight.
And, it IS true that he will answer your emails.
"I'm going to write this for adults"
No wonder a kid's show got one of the sickest guitar riffs ever
Works two hours. Becomes a legend to an entire generation.
dude seriously ! when they asked him to have it ready by tonight. I was thinking man he at least needs a week. He was juts like ok and then done in like two hours lol like WTF
He wrote and recorded the opening theme IN ONE NIGHT?! *rage quits*
Rage quit on what? Life?!?
But from decades of angst and creative thinking
Practice makes perfect
Not only in one night but he did everything with a keyboard and doesn't even know how to play guitar
@@o_ofigures that’s the most crazy part I for sure thought that was a guitar in there
the greatest heavy metal song in all of time and space was written by a guy who doesn't play guitar or drums, in two hours, on a keyboard, to mimic inspector gadget. And he was told to tone it down, beause it was too heavy. thats metal as balls
GO GREEN RANGER GO! 🐲🤘
RIP Jason David Frank
😭🇧🇷❤
This man is responsible for getting kids into fucken METAL MUSIC.
The music was a huge reason we loved the show as kids!
In 2024, I have Ron Wasserman on my gym playlist. I never stopped loving his bangers.
Let’s face it, the Power Rangers soundtracks back then were rock albums for kids and they are still awesome to listen to. I remember having one of the tapes and I listened to it until it wouldn’t play anymore.
I’m 33 years old and still enjoy old school power rangers and Ron’s music! Best to work out with his masterpiece
May the power protect you. I am 33 as well
thanks to him as a child and even now when I hear the MMPR 1st gen theme I get chills and tears in my eyes because it's one of my best childhood memories let's rock!! it's morphin time!!!!!!
This man got pitched a kids show and really said "LET'S ROCK" *face melting guitar solo*
and set the musical tempo for an entire generation.
I think this is where my love of rock came from
Seriously! I’m the same way.
Ron Wasserman..... we kneel to you for creating epic music for our childhood.
Im 33 and i still get pumped listening to the mmpr soundtrack!!!
Same
Tommy was handlin' business on them putties! Hell yes!
Ron: “My name is Ron Wasserman…”
Me: “And you are a legend.”
HE IS A TREASURE!!!
Can confirm, Ron replied to my email thanking him for the Redux album he released. Great guy!
I was listening to the Redux today for my morning exercise.😁
@@JJOrozcoMedia I've raced cars on a road bike with that soundtrack on. Good times!
Man wrote a theme song that today is one hell of a banging track that holds up today and is in a lot of ways better than other themes out there in TWO HOURS AND he's doesn't play the guitar.
This soundtrack turned me into a metalhead. And I remember how fucking stoked it got me when a Power Ranger's fight scene had one of these songs on it. Pure joy.
And me! 🤘I still jam these tunes out on bass
Thinking back, I realize now how much the music not only contributed to the epicness of the show, but his chosen style of music gave the show a real "mature" feel & as a result, MMPR didn't come off as a children show ( although it was). Ron Wasserman had great influential taste in music.
Aged 35 and still love it!
Ron youve blessed the world with something timeless
The world needs the original version of that album!!!
Check my channel.
@@MerolaC you kick ass!
He's right. I wrote to him in the early 2000's, and he wrote back. Coolest dude ever. I've been writing to studios, execs, and agents ever since, and studying entertainment law at USC now. I hope one day I can work with Saban, Wasserman, and SO many others.
If you're reading this, Ron, thanks again for giving me the best workout playlist ever! I run every day to it.
This guy deserves all his flowers 💐
Without him. We wouldn't have the epic song we have now.
Never will get old for us 90’s kids
I wish they would get him for Cobra Kai.
I'm 100 percent behind this.
Yup!
Thank you, Ron Wasserman, for giving us the perfect soundtrack to our childhood! My favorite song from Power Rangers is "We Need A Hero".
It hits different now.
Rest in peace Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang 😢
He captured lightning in a bottle for those songs
Yes he did. Nothing but priceless gems he created.
When Go Go Power Rangers!!! is on I get pumped!! And I'm 32 years old. Lol
Hell the whole soundtrack is a banger!!!!
The song We Need a Hero always kind of brought a tear to my eye. But suffering the loss that we have a couple weeks ago, did hearing Ron Wasserman explain that that's how he felt about his Heroes when he wrote the song, hits me hard
Me too I'm 39 yup I'm kid so wat lol
@@bakionigeri6414 that song for the tribute to Jason David Frank made me cry 😭
After jasons passing i rewatched the episodes where he was evil and i was like 😱 how did i miss when tommy went inside the mega zorde and beat everyones ass!?!?!?
@@crimsonhawk4912 evil ranger Tommy was a badass
This guy's music made the show what it was. It's just not the same without it. I got used to the synth music but putting any of Wasserman's tunes over ANY fight in the show just makes it FIRE. "Combat", "Zords", "Go Green Ranger", "5-4-1", etc. There's just too many to list.
Hearing the theme always got me hyped to watch the show when I was a kid.
There really is no better music to have playing while mulitcolored spandex-clad superheroes are beating the shit out of evil space goons.
Love his philosophy of being humble by fans and respecting their time recognizing that it's the greatest gift someone can give you and you should value this. It's completely different from artist and entertainers today that think they are entitled to your time, money and even prizing or else you are some "ist" because you didn't give any of that to them.
Two and and a half hours to craft one of the most iconic theme tunes on TV.
The mad lad!
Master Wasserman, I can't thank you enough for the awesome music you worked so hard for in Power Rangers.
You're Morphenomenal!!! ⚡
Wrote to Ron in 2011 ....He wrote back
The dude is a legend
Man the theme song "Fight" and "We need a hero" are iconic
Um don't forget combat
We'll take theemmmmmmm, we'll take theeeeemmmmm....dooowwwwnnnnnnn
Wow in a few hours he produced this master piece. This guy is a genius and a legend.
Pretty sure Ron Wasserman is the reason I love Rock. I was 5 IIRC when I first heard that theme. It hasn't left my brain in over 30 years.
Same
This the guy. This the fucking guy.
Insane vocals underrated 😮😮 🔥
The music definitely complimented the fighting scenes. For sure. I was born 93. Started watching power rangers religiouly 2 years after that
this man is responsible for my childhood 🤩 5 4 1 is a classic.
Oh I thought it was fight for 1 so reason thinking they were fighting for tommy cause his powers were failing
This was such an awesome interview. His music and work such in inspiration even in 2023. Really set the the tone of what rock is and meant to be. Thank you Ron. Mighty Morphin would not have been complete without your touch.
Ron wasserman is just as important to mmpr as the actors. I hope i can meet him and tell him thank you for making the theme to the best 90's kids show. All hail ron!!!
This guy is awesome! I still listen to some of the tracks today for fun! XD Especially when I'm writing stories haha
We need a Hero is my favorite song from the OG series. Thank you Ron for all your hard work!
LEGEND!!!! Power rangers would not be the same without this man. That guitar is legendary 🫡
Piano is legendary
You sir are a national treasure
This guy is a fucking LEGEND
This guy got me into my first taste of heavy music 🤘
I am 32 years old now. MMPR came out when I was about what 3? And even so, it became a guiding light in my life. All due respect to the actors behind the helmets as they did more than their part, but this man's songs (the original MMPR theme song and I Will Win) were the anthems of victory growing up. If ever I thought I couldnt, I'd just give them a listen and recharge my batteries. No! I will not give up. I will not retreat. A lesson learned from a young age but throughout my life and carried me into a successful military carreer and onward.
So I hope you one day see this, and here's to you sir, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. I'm sure you dont get the recognition you deserve compared to the other people who worked on MMPR, but you inspired me, and a whole generation just like me to live up to the potential we had within ourselves. And that, cannot ever be understated or taken away from you. May the Power protect you, as you made it do us once upon a time.
May the power protect you
Hell yeah! The soundtrack sound was synonymous with my memory of the OG Power Rangers cast. I used to listen to that soundtrack until the cassette tape got eaten by my walkman.
Absolute legend.
Moral of the story, if you got a great idea, produce it and give it back to the world.
I tip my hat to the man who made my childhood rock
There's a very desperate feeling of almost dread at the beginning of "Fight" that leads into this small sense of hope that then leads into the visceral feeling of knowing the heroes have arrived to save the day. Ron knew what he was doing. He put his heart into it and 31 years later, it still shines through
I’m glad I saw this. I was a kid and remember MMPR especially the first years. Without the music the show would have not been the same.
Ron you are the hero behind the Power Rangers
Metallica, creeping death
Ron Wasserman Is a great guy. I loved the work He did for MMPR and Dragon Ball Z In the 90s. Haim Saban Is such a scumbag with how He treated Wasserman.
Well you know Jewish people!
IT WAS A JOKE I SWEAR!
"Fight" and "We need a hero" are my favorites!
"We need a hero" really resonated with me as a kid. Still love them. I wish he could have released those obscure instrumental cues that used to play between fight songs.
The music really worked - it made it exciting!
It's actually the best theme ever! So lit 🔥
Still the best original soundtrack ever made for Power Rangers. This was one of the reasons the show had such success. I’m 33 yrs old, I was 3 when the show aired, and til this day, I still listen to this soundtrack from time to time. Thank you for this timeless music.
God bless this man.
Ron Wasserman and Mark Snow are great composers and such nice guys.
This guy is awesome! I loved his tracks from the series!
Zords theme ❤❤❤ Incredible creation, a genius without a doubt
It's definitely my favorite!!!!
This man is a pure legend. All his music and Jim's get me so pumped anytime I listen to their songs. Though I do tend to copy his way when I try sing any of them. And gargle Pepsi
He literally changed millions of our lives yo 🙏🏾😏 I couldn't thank him enough
HERO will forever be synonyms with JDF...A very sad song indeed!
Fight is such a great song.
Iconic. Absolutely iconic. 🤘🏾
This man is responsible for my childhood obsession. He also did the X-Men theme.
A legend in American entertainment history
When he said there would trouble he meant the Parents back then in the 90's, they were so jaded. 🤣🤣🤣 looking around 2022 D.A.R.E didnt work guys.
This guy, made a theme that lasted for decades
Forever
A very famous legend
This fuys the reason i got into metal. Every song made me head bang before i knew what that was
What an inspirational story! It still blows my mind that he composed an otherwise "guitar heavy" theme song on a keyboard (which I assume, from the tones, is a Yamaha), but perhaps more so that he sang the song despite having no formal singing training, and was both embraced and employed for his efforts! He has such a gritty and unique singing voice, and when I hear it, I just get chills. As an aside, if you're looking for a good singer that inadvertently takes cue from him, try Paige Hamilton of Helmet beginning with their 2004 album, Size Matters. Hell, even Layne Staley's voice resembles his a bit lol
The "Zordon Era" of Power Rangers will forever be my favorite. I was just hitting the age where I was getting onto rock and this soundtrack (and GreenDay) were what got rhe ball rolling.
As amazing as it was for a slew of other reasons, with out this soundtrack, it just wouldnt have been the same. (For reference, try watching a fight scene from the Japanese ZyuRanger) Thank you Ron Wasserman. Just thank you.
👊🙏🐐 ⚡️
so this guy is reasponsible for me becoming. a metal head. solute.
Such a nice guy and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the best show ever.
Thank you Ron
I’m jealous of the people who grew up with him in the 90s.
Those 10 notes in the guitar melody of the chorus. Just perfect.
Wasserman is the man
The Wasserest Man that ever Wassered, Man.
rw:just seeing him in this clip and listening to all the Power Rangers musics he done rly made my day thnxu. ^_^
I've had the OG '93-'95 theme on permanent repeat in my cassette/CD/mp3 players for the last 29 1/2 years!
*Literally* one of the thee personal favorite soundtracks TO MY LIFE!! 🎶🤘🏻
Thank you, Ron!
He also composed the soundtrack for the first two seasons of Dragon Ball Z.
This man made Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Amazing!
Ron is such a legend for this
In the best of ways, I like to think that Ron inspired a generation of new Judas Priest fans. Listening to "Jawbreaker", I was thinking "OMG, Power Ranger vibes!".
*HE DOESN'T PLAY THE GUITAR?*
1:43 Wait! Hold up. This man doesn’t play guitar yet he created one of the most recognizable kid show theme songs of the 90s and even today?!
Does a dentist need to know how to make toothpaste or make a toothbrush????
@@bigdumbfatcat2869 I get what you’re trying to saying and even though that analogy doesn’t make sense in this situation. It was an utter shock to know that he doesn’t play the guitar and he doesn’t see himself as a vocalist. It was a mind blown moment
@@Majin_Lee He is a musician. He knows music theory. He doesn't need to know how to play the instruments in order to compose the music.
@@bigdumbfatcat2869 you missed the point. He doesn’t need to know how to play the instruments but the fact that he created one of the most iconic songs of the 90s alone without playing the instruments is a mind blown
@@Majin_Lee No i didn't miss the point, i know exactly what you are saying, you freaking idiot. I just thought your point is stupid, and you seem to be too stupid to get MY POINT. Idiot!
No other music makes me kill the punching/kicking bag as this playlist
7:45 "Oh shit!" 🤣
I remember wearing out the cassette for this show. Tremendous.
Amazing. You brought a lot of life into people.I remember listening to this while living in Puerto Rico. I didn’t understood the lyrics back then but i loved them all the same! They helped shape my life and steer it into positives.Thank you Ron!
