When I hear this song sung by Amy Grant "Better than a Hallelujah " I think back to all the tears I have cried out to God in the middle of the night ; being a single mommy I have cried out to God for so many reasons 😂 ,but I do know that in the middle of our storms God has carried me and my children and my grand children to a beautiful place and I do know that God will never leave us nor forsake us and so all my tears are kept by God and He knows every tear I have cried and he answers my tears and for that I find a whole lot of comfort ! Thank you Jesus for catching every tear that falls from my cheeks 😊I will Praise The Lord Jesus Christ Forever Amen !!!🎉❤

I like this song. I was reading through some of the comments about how she needs to repent and all this and that. I dont know much about her, who she is or what she's done and to be quite honest its none of our businesses. Her relationship with God is personal, just as each of ours is. God says you will be judged as harshly as you judge others. So its not anyone's place to say anything about her. At the end its between her amd God, just like the rest of us. Let him sort it out.
Amy has made mistakes like all of us and she is more vulnerable than alot of her critics. She has always been criticized for her music and when she moved to mainstream secular. I think people need to learn to allow her figure out her relationship with her God and stop trying to be so judgy. I wish we prayed more and judged less.

Amy has sung some of the most beautiful and inspirational music over all these years. While I don't completely get this song, it's also gorgeous. It saddens me how much criticism Amy always gets from the intolerant and close-minded in her own Christian community. It's one thing to have a different point of view, but none of us are the ones who get to judge her.

Guys, try not to confuse the song as a "literal" thing, confusing everyone else, theologically. But the song is more symbolic. God would rather have you open up everything how you really feel, rather than just hide it and pretend as if nothing happened. He's all ears. This is what the song is conveying.

This song actually reminds me of when I was a drug addict. I used to know about god but never knew god. Id praise him at the dinner table but feel nothing. over a long period of time I kept getting worse and slipping into more drugs, hardly ever attended school and completely abandoned family.eventually god helped me realize how much of a mess I was.

That's a nice song It shows our humaness and our frailties and God doesn't ask us to get cleaned up before we come to him ,it's him who helps us to overcome these addictions and issues that the human race faces. But yes thank God Jesus made a way and is the answer to be our help and everlasting hope. He doesn't leave us there in our messes and look down on us. But He is the Savior who brings us through and changes us where we need changing and shows us the right way and what may not be best or good. Being honest with God is the best. He does want us and relationship with his created and when we open up and ask Jesus to come into our heart and soul he is the only saving grace. All people have struggles and with Jesus with the Lord God he and his word get us through it. This song should be called "better than a FAKE Hallelujah". Don't say Hallelujah if you don't mean it, because then you'll be saying it wrong. A real Hallelujah means that no matter how screwed up we are we always know that there is a God who loves us and there is Jesus who offered us salvation, so that we may say Hallelujah even in the hardest of times simply because we know He's there and we know we are saved. Love involves a choice.(to love or not to love) This"free will"makes us unable to be robots.(who obediently obey without any say) The misery and pain you see now is a result of humans taking advantage of their free will.We chose it. I don't believe that God likes misery, the way I hear the song is that when you're going through the misery you cry out to him more honestly and usually with more love then when you're in church giving out your praises. God does allow misery, that doesn't mean he likes it. Just like when a parent teaches their children, whether in punishment, or having them learn it themselves, the parents don't enjoy it, they hate seeing their children go through it...but it makes them stronger.

There is nothing better than Hallelujah, no matter what circumstances or situation. Hallelujah is the highest praise we can give God.

Although I was a bit disappointed Amy didn't write it...and that she hasn't met the writers...she does an EXCELLENT job on it...and the official video is so heart wrenching. Sometimes...especially if you're at rock bottom...there's only one way to look...and that's up, toward God...and ask for his help. THAT'S the point of this song. Nice work, Amy!

I personally think that the song shows gods love. The people are no longer looking for the answers in themselves, instead their asking god, who knows exactly where to lead them.

This song should be called "better than a FAKE Hallelujah". Don't say Hallelujah if you don't mean it, because then you'll be saying it wrong.

God made creatures who are capable of true love. Love involves a choice.(to love or not to love) This"free will"makes us unable to be robots.(who obediently obey without any say) The misery and pain you see now is a result of humans taking advantage of their free will.We chose it.
I think god allows it so that we can see why its dangerous to be outside of his will and strangely good can sometimes come from the bad. like compassion and forgiveness.
We need to pray for her that God would restore Amy and put her heart in the right place. We need to be sad, anguished, and sorrowful over anyone who is in error..we must pray for them! If her heart is in the wrong place or if she is in sin God will deal with her. But our job as Christians is not to throw stones but forgive and pray. If she is saying stuff that is not biblically correct then I can see why some of you have a righteous anger or frustration. God hates sin & anything false. Pray

I don't believe that God likes misery, the way I hear the song is that when you're going through the misery you cry out to him more honestly and usually with more love then when you're in church giving out your praises. God does allow misery, that doesn't mean he likes it. Just like when a parent teaches their children, whether in punishment, or having them learn it themselves, the parents don't enjoy it, they hate seeing their children go through it...but it makes them stronger.
I am sad that some people who don't know Jesus might be confused by some comments & look at Christians as mean, judgemental people. Please, God is loving and merciful. He desires that all come to Him, repent & be saved. There will be a day when the world will be judged & have to answer 4 every word, action, & thought. Also for what we neglected to do. God can forgive you. Don't know Jesus? or if you fell away from Him, God will not reject you. Whoever is born of God will not continue in sin
@SamWiseGingy Who knows why the tsunami happened? What was God's plan, only He knows. We cant even understand His complexity & how He works, & yet we dont deserve an explanation. I do believe however natural disasters can be a 'wakeup call' for the world, to quickly receive salvation for incase we might die suddenly. It can also be discipline for us. When you did something bad, your parents should discipline you. Not out of hate but love so you will learn from your mistakes. God is the same.

lol ive actually have never even heard of Amy (till fairly recently) and I have no idea of her life story. Plus I have no clue of the outcome of someones fate and im pretty sure you don't either bud. Her relationship with god is her own and if she chooses not to repent and a banded god it is her choice.I try my best to follow god, through the bible. so please dont assumptions of who I follow :s

So, you are mistaken GOD DOES NOT take pleasure in hearing our braking hearts and suffers. What He does love is thay thru our misery when we call out to Him for help. Like I said, that proves we trust Him, and He only has the desire to comfort and heal us. I am really sad that she would give bad advice like that. We need to be in God's word and in prayer and we should not continue to sin if we want to live for Jesus we should repent and turn from sin. Amy should know better than this, I love the song which was not written by her, I get the message of it, God loves the praise of His people but He also loves the broken cries of the unsaved. I do not approve of Amy's advice, even if she did sin &seemed truly repentive I would be happy but, she isnt.
