Must have said it a million times but I really love this fly on the wall type stuff of yours...it feels like we're, like, with you in the studio making beats...so cool!

Peace fam, thanks a lot! Glad to share some of the music exploration process and I’m also glad that you’ve enjoyed checking it out! 🙏🏿

Really refreshing to watch this. Especially love B-section you created at 7:51. Thanks for showing the entire process -- sample selection, sound design, chopping, pitching, and sequencing. This is the essence of the craft and it takes patience. It's fun to watch it all come together in the end.
Also, it looks like you used those sliders to adjust start end points of the sample? Nice SP-like feature of the 5k, if that's the case.

Thanks a lot for the feedback bro! Yeah, I definitely enjoy the exploration process behind production. I always learn something new via experimentation. Yep, that slider feature is one of my favorites on this MPC. It gives a very tactile feel with the sample editing. I’m learning more about the FX busses and real time FX adjustment (via the Q-links and sliders) now. Thanks again! 🙏🏿

    Fire 🔥
How you like the 5000 compared to your 8800?
I have 2 MVs, kinda want to sell one and cop a MPC

      Peace, thanks for the feedback!
I like the MPC5000 a lot, it was my first sampler. The 8-outs that come standard with the unit are very useful, some of the FX are really cool too. I like how streamlined the basic workflow is, yet there are tons of features to explore (so it’s fun to experiment).
I think the MV8800 is a slightly more sophisticated sampler. It’s basically a full DAW inside of a box, especially when you connect the VGA screen. It reminds me a lot of FL studio (for example, the piano roll implementation and the linear sequencer). Plus the access to the FX are more straightforward than the MPC5000.
In short, I like both of these samplers for different reasons! The 5000 is still very capable for sure but the MV8800 is more advanced. Keep in mind, these specific samplers are pretty old at this point so it may be worthwhile to consider newer options too. Happy creating 👊🏿💥
