Hey ya, Spoons!! Hopefully, you all enjoyed the video and had a fantastic weekend! It has come to my attention that I stated "A Pure Oil Node clocked at 250% provides 300 fuel, this is WRONG!!" I used Normal instead.. I just did not correct myself in the video.
As someone that doesn't even play the game (but watched all of LGIO's vids on it, then yours) I have to say I'm incredibly impressed. Josh's chaos is incredible, but yours is incredibly pleasing.
bitz, my guy, that intro/factory showcase, were god damn, bloody epic as hell. i could feel that, so damn nice work, both on the factory, but especially the showcase.
Just a suggestion: set your refineries to 80+80+60+60 ... that uses the same number of shards, but less power to run the 4 refineries compared to 100+60+60+60.
New to the channel and I’m working my way through your satisfactory playlist and I wanted to say, I really enjoy your vids. The time you put into them shows. I really like how you have a preview of what you’re working towards at the beginning and really like the fact that you have a VOD channel with all the videos labeled to correspond with these videos. It makes it so easy to go in and find something if I wish to learn more about how you’re doing something. Cheers and I look forward to catching up with what you got going on now!
I learned something today thanks to you. "In 1887, British Prime Minister Robert Gascoyne-Cecil appointed his nephew Arthur James Balfour as Minister for Ireland. The phrase 'Bob's your uncle' was coined when Arthur referred to the Prime Minister as 'Uncle Bob'."
"Bob's your uncle" is a phrase commonly used in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries that means "and there it is" or "and there you have it" or "It's done". Typically, someone says it to conclude a set of simple instructions or when a result is reached. The meaning is similar to that of the French expression "et voilà!". The origins are uncertain, but a common theory is that the expression arose after Conservative Prime Minister Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury ("Bob") appointed his nephew Arthur Balfour as Chief Secretary for Ireland in 1887, an act of nepotism, which was apparently both surprising and unpopular. Whatever other qualifications Balfour might have had, "Bob's your uncle" was seen as the conclusive one. The main weakness in this theory is that the first documented usage of "Bob’s Your Uncle" is in the title of a revue at the Victoria Theatre, Dundee, in June 1924. If Salisbury's notorious nepotism toward Balfour in the 1880s had been so widely spoken of to inspire a popular phrase, it is perhaps unlikely that it would have taken nearly forty years for it to appear in print for the first time. - Courtesy of Wiki.
You and kibitz are the ppl to show us how the game should be played :D while let's game it out is there to show us how it could be played while testing all the limits xD The perfect balance of order & chaos xD Love it :D I rly like the use of neons in your designs. Gives it that cyberpunky feel.
I actually didn't have any smart plating being made while following the Design for your Iron factory Portion, but as I had enough stuff for it to be made in there and still have materials left over I set up Smart Plating in there to save myself a headache
One thing that I haven't seen a tutorial for is underflooring, like how to plan for it in the beginning. How tall it needs to be for different setups and still enable it to be navigated and stuff like that.
I love your factory designs! Its sooo clean and modern it feels like a real life factory. I wish you could teach us the basics on how to design cleanly and also efficient. Thank you Bitz!
Have you considered turning any extra Polymer Resin not used in Rubber or Plastic for the Synthetic Polyester Fabric Recipe? Fabric Gives over 11x the Sink Points and only requires an extra refiner and some extra water
I love the edit style of this one, with the rewind and all. I love the building, looks awesome. You still give me ideas for SF, after all these hours of gameplay. And that is cool :)
I enjoy watching both you and LGIO. Bitz shows us exactly how we should play the game, and Josh shows us exactly how NOT to play the game. Both are very useful and entertaining.
I think I should get into the habit of creating a huge architectural "shell" building and then doing the machinery inside later. Right now I just build the machines and then encase them and my factories are just boxes. It's not very nice to look at.
That can honestly lead to disaster.. Highly Recommend Doing your machines at the same time as Decoration, for Example: Place your 8 Smelters, work out your output direction and Decorate.. Then move onto your constructors, then yes! Decorate.
"Bob's your uncle" is one of those British sayings I've always taken a liking to (I'm American). Hell, only recently did I learn what bellend means. British insults always sound so classy to me. If you put that plastic and rubber manufacturing plant where I think you did, that's where I located a turbo fuel powerplant set up. Although by that time, I unlocked the geyser extractors and drew the water I needed from a nearby water geyser. From the lessons I learned in my first playthrough, I have a better idea on how to do it the second time around.
So I’m watching the video and thinking to myself how much I hate the space elevator and then you go and say how much you love it! Like your favorite ice cream, it’s all subjective. But hey! The lunch lady in space needs parts. I just can never seem to find a place in my builds where it is either totally in the way or too far away that it looks detached. Great video as always!
Hi Bitz, thoroughly enjoying the videos, keep 'em coming. I do need help, I have tried following the instructions by yourself and others, concerning oil/fuel power, I have 2 pure oil nodes, in the west of the Green fields map. I have overclocked 1 oil extractor to produce 360 cubic meters pm, this feeds 8 refineries with mk2 pipes, the recipes I am doing is, 5 are producing rubber with heavy oil residue, and 3 are making fuel/polymer resin, this means that i need to produce 330 cubic meters pm, I have an identical line ( oil extractor, 8 refineries, 5 x plastic, 3 x fuel/polymer resin), but my fuel generators are still not working properly because the oil pipes etc are running dry, how can i resolve this problem, i have been trying for days in real life. Thank you. :)
Hey Bitz, at 7:17 you mentioned a fully overclocked oil extractor on a pure node goes to 300 cubic meters per minute. Pure nodes go to 600 fully overclocked. Were you on a normal node?
I've gotten my first fuel power plant set up and running but can't seem to get it running 100% correctly. Some of my refineries tend to get starved for a split second every now and then and that causes the fuel to fluctuate resulting in my power fluctuating up and down by about 1GW+. Do you have a video in which you explain how you avoid these issues? Because in the videos I've watched from season 1 and 2 I don't remember you mentioning having any flow rate problems or how to fix them aside from the bit about junctions being placed before pipes, everything you show just appears to work flawlessly.
Every time I see those giant cool factories on one hand I wanna do something similar but on the other hand I have a measly laptop. It does run the game nicely but I it will not be able to handle those maga factories. Any tips to how should I plan and manage modular/small factories?
Probably no, because he can just snap to the World grid. If you press Ctrl while putting a foundation randomly on the world, it snaps to the "world grid" and then all your buildings should be on the same grid, whether it's in the desert or grass fields.
