Fusion Static Stress Test - the rebar chair

For thousands of years, humans have used metal to reinforce concrete. Unlike the ancient engineers, our iron is now mass produced in the form of a product called rebar. However, rebar will not "float" in place while the concrete is being poured and dried. It must be kept stationary somehow. The new invention we have been using for over a century is a plastic rebar chair, or rebar support, and there are literally millions of them embedded under the concrete all around our city. Although they serve no purpose after the concrete has dried and cured, they are an essential part of the engineering design and concrete construction process. They must hold the metal in exactly the right place under many different circumstances.
