    I believe this now makes two Radiarc pieces that have ascended to the "Equestria at War Main Title Theme" tier. 🤣

    This track hits different when you establish The New Equestrian Republic and Celestia decides to "live for herself".

    This song fits both before a war you know is coming, and the days after once the jubilation of victory or the depression of defeat has passed.
    There is that certain melancholy moment in times like that where you become utterly lost and become a leaf on the river of time, getting dragged along be events outside of your control. Traditions die around you, your community forever changes from that which was known during the careless days of youth. Or the first time you see your parents cry in front of you, and the first string of the mask of protection falls away from them.
    The only thing you can do is surrender to the current, or try to make it to shore.

    Amazing work, It makes me think about how the world was torn apart by war. Or about how Fantasy will never exist in this world, or magic, even if we wanted it to.

    You deserve to be a thousand times popular than you are now. Seriously depressive to see such a talented musician not getting recognition he deserves

    It's pieces like these that show just how much heart and soul you put into every one of your works. We're at the age where we're still trying to figure things out, you and I. Aways remember you are not alone! We're here for ya, and best of luck in that contest!

    This is nice! I actually found you from a guy's comment ranting about my music but I'd say it was worth it, because I really enjoyed this.

    • @Radiarc_
      @Radiarc_  8 лет назад +2

      Thanks, and I'm glad you enjoy it!
      I typically do more battle themes and stuff like that, but I've been having a lot of fun with more calm pieces.
      I've been working on a lot of different things lately to submit to the 8dio contest, and I'm debating on whether or not I should send in this one.
      I've been keeping it off of Soundcloud until I decide, but if I keep running into brick walls, I think I'll go ahead and do this one.
      By the way, I listened to one of your songs, and I really admire how clean the mixing is!
      You also have a great grasp of how music should flow, and it's really impressive.

    • @alex-roe
      @alex-roe 8 лет назад +1

      Hey thanks! I think you have a really nice grasp for calmer music, it's something I love to do and sadly not done much of for a while. I think I personally liked 'Despite' more, the mood just got me. I don't know your work well enough to give advice about this contest, I only just discovered you and have heard a few pieces.

    I see in your work and hear a great talent and sound mind. The music you create makes you easily able to enjoy music, relax, and reflections on the future and the past. Your music makes people balance in themselves and open their minds. Thank you for that amazing masterpiece.

    I love how soft and atmospheric this is. I especially love the part that starts around three minutes. There's something about those lower piano notes I really like.
    Also, your songs on clyp are amazing as always! I especially adore that first one, Dysthemia. Right about 28 seconds into it is where I started thinking, "Dang, this is good." (And this is kinda random, but Autumn Leaves, for as short as it is, is absolutely _gorgeous._ It reminds me a ton of the video game Journey, and I really love Journey.)
    Best of luck on the 8dio contest!

    • @Radiarc_
      @Radiarc_  8 лет назад

      Autumn Leaves actually ended up turning into I Know!
      As for Dysthemia, that's the name of the picture I was making it for, but I'm thinking of going for something really dark and atmospheric for the contest since I honestly feel like that's what I do best.
      I could still finish Dysthemia sometime, though, I'd just need to have a stronger idea of what it wants to do.

    I don't think I've ever listened to a tune that has been able to make me cry each time I listen to it. The emotions in this melody feel so real ;_;

    • @Radiarc_
      @Radiarc_  8 лет назад +1

      I wrote this on a night where I just felt broken; everything in this song is exactly as I wanted it to be -- a reflection of myself.
      I actually teared up a few times during it, silly as it is, because it just spoke so much of how I'd been feeling and my general outlook on life.
      For the most part, I'm feeling better, but even when the rain seems to have gone and things are looking up, there's a bit of uncertainty that seems to bring it all back.

    • @josefblack2714
      @josefblack2714 8 лет назад +2

      Well I can definitely feel the emotions you've put into this. And I can definitely relate to the feeling, I hope that you'll find something that'll cast away that dread and doubt one day ;w;

    This is dripping with emotion and the ambient sound effects just take it to the next level. Great job!
    I was looking around at solo string libraries a couple weeks ago. What did you use in this piece?

    • @Radiarc_
      @Radiarc_  8 лет назад +4

      Thanks; it means a lot coming from you!
      I used 8dio's Solo Violin Designer and the Tina Guo cello (legato only) from cinesamples.
      The Violin Designer is phrase-based, so it can take a bit of wrangling, but once I have the money for a full set of solo strings with all articulations, I'm thinking of going with the Adagio series or Sacconi Strings from Spitfire.
      I've listened to the ones from cinesamples, but they sound a bit bright for my tastes.

    • @MichaelPicherMusic
      @MichaelPicherMusic 8 лет назад

      I'll look into those libraries and weigh my options next time I'm sample shopping. Thanks!

    • @GhostXb
      @GhostXb 8 лет назад

      Might be better to save your money for Century Strings. No idea when that's coming out but from what I heard it's going to make Adagio irrelevant XD!

      From 8dio by the way. i just googled it and got a random string website XD!

    Here's a piece from my book, the names are changed to Mlp though.
    Spike: Our home is gone, we are in a land of death and destruction. What do we do?
    Twilight: ....
    Spike: Twilight?
    Twilight: The army will return for now we head towards the remaining woods.
    Spike: Then what Twilight?
    Twilight: We'll figure it out....

    Very nice! And best of luck with the 8dio contest! I'm actually entering myself :) In fact, I've been entering for the past two years but with no success. Third times a charm? Maybe we can give each other feedback :) If you haven't already listen to the winners of the previous years. They set the bar high and they're really quite unique :)

      In case you want to listen to my submissions that didn't make it, it's "Legend of the Oversoul" and "The First Steps". I tried my damn hardest on those XD! Gotta keep pushing forward though!

    • @Radiarc_
      @Radiarc_  8 лет назад +1

      I listened to last year's piece and one of the runners-up, and you're right, they're pretty good!
      What I'm planning on doing is taking The Id, Ex Machina, and The End, and from that go the deepest and darkest and heaviest I've ever gone.
      I'm aiming to begin with intense atmosphere and just knock it out of the park from there with insanity since I really feel like I can make a name for myself in the horror genre.
      I'm not cocky or arrogant, but I feel like if I really put my all into this and give it proper polish with 0 compromises, I can place top 5, but I have to be sure it's my absolute best.
      Good luck in your submission; hope to see you in top 5 as well!
