ETCH A SKETCH
Rock-em, Sock-em Robots... and what was the name of that one with the tops, you spun them, they went into the center and knocked themselves around and the last one still spinning won?
@@thumper7047 don't recall but I had three dolls I will never forget before the Star Wars Action Figure era began... Captain Kirk (tv version), JJ Evans, Kid Dynomite (Good Times) and Evel Knievel with cape.
The moment I received Luke, Obi Wan and Vader with retractable light sabers in their forearms...it was GAME ON!
I think that was called Battling Tops if I remember right. I loved that game
Etch A Sketch had the two knobs on it
And they were great! (I would have thought they came out in the '60s, but I might be wrong.)
That was the Little People Garage! All my 6 siblings loved playing with them all. Then all 3 of my kids loved them! For our sons 1st birthday, hubby told me that, "Every boy needs a Tonka Truck." At 15, he still has 3. 2 are the same, so they gave it a paint job. Lol
Brings back Lots of Memories
These videos make me feel my age. I remember all of these toys from my childhood. I must have put a million miles on my Tonka trucks when I was a kid. I loved the Evil Kenevil stunt bike too.
"its not a pet rockkk.......... but his name is Rocky! and let me tell you all about him" ;) haha love it
I had pretty much all of those. I loved growing up in the 70s and I love all these videos. This all brings back some good memories. Fun video really enjoyed it👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙 it’s 106° here. I guess that would make it around 41° Celsius there.
I had a pet rock, his name was Charles Butterworth! I trained him to walk on a leash, LOL.
Nice to see that some of these items made it to Europe.
We had almost all of these and I still have some of them stored in boxes. The Evel Knievel makes an appearance in the driveway occasionally. 😃
thanks for sharing another Family moment. 😊
Awesome video guys! Brought back memories.
If you build your own pond you could build yourself a warm water tank for you. Push it into a trough with a black liner to use the sun to warm it up
Anybody who complains about you guys having to run a fan in the summer can go ahead and shut up. I'm listening with IEMs and barely hear the subtle, pleasant drone in the background. If it's hot, just use it. I prefer my favorite RUclipsr families don't die of heat exhaustion and am happy to tolerate a couple months of fan noise to serve that end.
Anyone complaining about a fan drone in the background has clearly never had to sleep with a fan running. Hell, my computer's fans are noisier and I survive.
but it's so loud!!
I couldn't hear their fan over my fan.
I was born in 1970,so I had all these toys,my favorites were the Evel Knievel and the Six million dollar man toys.
At 1:55, there is still one of those Waterful Ring Toss games at my mother's house. Her grandchildren have played with it. My two brothers and I were allowed to play the noisy "Hungry Hungry Hippos" game only if the door to the room was closed.
I won't say you must watch the "Star Wars" movies, especially the atrocious Episode 8. I was 7 years old when the first was released in 1977. I was too young to truly appreciate how revolutionary it was. The only comparison I can think of is when people accustomed to silent movies saw their first "talkie" in the late 1920s.
I used to loooooove Shrinky Dinks! They were so much fun.
Several of these are still available today. My sister swiped our Simon. Still works too. They still sell Shrinky Dinks.
Don't feel too bad, Kat! We always wanted an Atari but we got stuck with a Commodore 64 and it only had 2 games. Mom wouldn't even consider buying any others. My sister eventually bought a Nintendo and my brother a Sega but that was years later, lol.
Hey Graham Fam!!! Happy to see another video, as a child of the 80s many of these I had. My childhood dentist had an open free standing toy shelf between each dental chair- i loved the water thing with the rings!!! These bring back so many good memories!!! Hope you're having a good day (despite the heat)! ❤
Cool pick, reaction great. Remember all of this (never had most). The water one you see i had ,as well as a similar one that had a ball that you tried to score a basket. 2 people could
play, each had a button to push. When young comics were sold everywhere, local store, pharmacies etc. A huge variety to select from. My favs ( had many) were Jonah Hex(western),
Witching hour( horror), Sgt Rock (war) ,Conan barbarian ( Science fiction), Archie (assortment of titles), Bugs bunny (various titles), Tarzan ( fantasy ?) Still have over 1000. (put away)
Video brought back a lot of happy memories, thank you, enjoy your day (swim, sleep )
Really enjoy your videos! You have a great family. ❤
As an American, THE BUSH means something totally different, wink wink, haha, and yes, it is a nice toy to play with as long as she lets you.
I have a few of those Mattel Electronics games and they still work 40+ years later.
I had almost every one of theses toys. They still sell Pet Rocks. My daughter got me one for Christmas last year. I use him as a guard rock. He can't hear as well as the dog but he'll put a huge knot on your head if you break in. The Evel Knievel motorcycle was the best. Just make a ramp, line up a few Tonka trucks, and then wind him up and he'd jump them. If you just let him go on level ground he'd just keep going and going. The Bionic man had a telescoping eye so you could look through the back of his head and you had a tiny telescope.
Atari , we all became experts at fixing them ! Lol Those games were great.
What were your favorite Atari games? I liked playing Pitfall and Kaboom.
When I was a small child I saw a glowing device that radiated lots of heat and had a small round light that had things moving on it. It was one of the first TV's. They had it at a Science Fair. I have seen all of the gadgets and gizmo's come and go in my lifetime. Anti-gravity toys are probably on the drawing board as we speak.
In 5th grade Terry Williams got the Mattel Football game (8:00 mark) and his older brother Greg cut the wires to the speaker so we could play it in class, under our desk without getting caught.
Sigh... Good times...
I loved the Rubicks Cube, I was never able to do it, so I became an expert at taking the stickers off, Ta Da, I did it, no I didn't! 😂
I used to use that exact same trick of peeling the stickers off and putting them back on. I think the new rubiks cubes are printed on, with no stickers so you can’t do that anymore.
@davidpittman9059 I didn't know they made new ones. I have trouble with 2 dimensions, let alone 3. I had friends that could do it pretty quickly. After 15 minutes of staring at it, I gave up!
When I was in the 9th grade, my childcare class did a secret Santa , I was given a rubrics cube necklace, which I still have and I actually knew who was my secret Santa.
@@marydavis5234 were those in stores, or was it specifically made for you? I don't remember seeing them in stores?
@@karlschmitt6359 this was in the 1970s , so he probably saw it in a store.
Thanks!
I remember when they came out with a pyramid shaped puzzle like the Rubix Cube. Same concept, except it was pyramid shape. I never could solve it! Except one time when I was watching tv, I was just turning it like some type of fidget toy, I just happened to look down and low and behold...WALA! I had solved it! I wasn't even looking or paying attention to it. It just happened! Don't know how I did it and never could do it again. That is what really annoyed me. Never could solve the Rubix Cube either. The closest I ever got without cheating was getting three sides at one time. These types of toys were absolutely infuriating to me.
I either had/know someone who had every single item that was on this video. Lol I guess I should mention I was born in 1969.
The quality of our toys was better but they could be highly injurious. This is what sets Gen X apart and gives us our toughness, lol. How many little girls had to cut their brother's Evil Knievel stunt motorcycle out of their hair? Suffered first degree burns from the Easy Bake Oven? Stepped on one of those awful Spiro-graph pins or metal jack stones? I won't even go into the insane bike riding or lawn darts.... Damn fine times if you survived.
I was born in 1964 the last year of the Baby Boomers. I am 59 years old and I remember these toys and games. I had the electronic football game. I remember playing Pong at a friend's house. I also had the Rubics Cube
I was 13 years old in 1977 when I saw Star Wars in the movie theatre.
I still have the first Atari I bought for my kids. LOL!
Hello from Florida, 102° 100% humidity. Long time time sub, keep up the good work. Don't worry about a fan running. Take care, God bless.
The 70’s….what a great time!
We were poor in 78 and it sucked. We we're poor but I did have alot of fun. Had to make a bike the, BMX. Testing gear the hard way. I would never complain. Competition suffering. Snow surfing, skiing ,hang bag and we're
OMG I had like 95% of these Toys back then...
Im with you about water temperature i don't get in often cause its too cold
I loved that electronic football game back when I was a kid but tried it a few years back and aside from the nostalgia, it was so boring now. I still love playing the Atari games though.
Oh my goodness... I remember all these but unfortunately was " too old" for toys by then 😂 that was my opinion not my parents... I definitely played with more 1960's toys 🤫 Love from Georgia ❤
the thing with the knobs is etch-a-sketch
This is off topic from this video but I know you've done some eating challenge videos, I suggest you take a look at Joel Hansen and what he does. In his recent video he ate a 9 pound piece of sushi. I think it would be fun to see your family react to how much he eats. :)
Mom was describing Etch-a-scetch.
Hi Graham family!! You should definitely watch the original trilogy at least on your family channel!! Star Wars A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and then Return of the Jedi... then decide if you want to continue with the numerous othe movies and Disney shows.
Exactly, those are the only ones that I have wanted to watch, haven't even bothered with any of the other Star Wars movies (maybe someday?).
My time of toys was in the 1960s
Hello From Texas
I still have my Atari 2600 with plenty of awesome old games. My old Nintendo too. It's getting harder these days to find a TV that's easily compatible with old systems.
We don’t care buddy! Turn it on hi and stay cool my friend! I had the Evel Knieval motorcycle, it was cool!
Hot? It is 48c in Las Vegas now.
GI Joe Headquarters. I about fainted when I saw Santa left one in the living room)
4:59 lou forigno
Etch-A-Sketch was made by the Ohio Art Company in my town of Bryan Ohio.
She’s talking about etcha-scetch or however, you spell it
I loved my Atari!
That took me about 3 months to do it!
If had comic books I had when I was young I would be very rich now
Boggle is my favorite game!
All four of you should watch Star Wars Episode IV (the first one) together and show us your reactions. 🤠
Since you guys are renovating your home, would adding a central AC unit be possible?
The trick to getting into cold water is when you get to mid thigh, dive in. Should help get you past the wussy stage. Lol
Everyone had to have a "Pet Rock" IT can "Sit", "Stay", "Play Dead", lots of stuff - but not "Fetch"
It's 95 degrees Fahrenheit here in Oklahoma
Yeah it's a scorcher here in OKC
Bruh yall need to watch Star Wars as a family. Def The Empire Strikes Back
My toys came a couple of decades before these.
I was never a Star Wars fan. I'm a Treky. I still luv Star Trek
Just ignore the knit-pickers who gotta put in their 3c worth.😂 No one is forcing them to watch.
HEY Graham Fam Love your vids a video you should react to is Operation Yellow Ribbon uploaded by Kitzer 9/11 Archives which is about how Canada landed planes after the US and eventually Canadian airspace was shutdown it’s a great video to watch.
Currently 86 farenheit
Now-a-days, they have games like a Jellybean game where the beans might taste good or might taste like dirty socks or vomit - I hate that game BeanBoozaled) - YUCK!!! Makes me sick.
No A/C?
Do they not have A/c in Slovakia?
Hi do y'all react too music video requests?
Youve never seen Star wars?! 🤯
You should give Star Wars a chance, I think you would like it if you at least watched the first movie
You need to get at least a window ac
The only "Comics" I was into was the graphics novels like Aliens and Predator...
Have you tested placing a large bowl of ice cubes in front of the fan? Works to get everyone cool! 🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊🧊 ahhh!
