I had the Tulip treatment 3 months ago and recently had my recheck appointment. I am happy to say that I have new healthy skin, down there. Yea! No itching, burning, or bumps. Anna DiCarlo Hi Anna, I’m not too sure what the options would be in that case. I have heard of a treatment plan called the Mona Lisa, but I’m not sure how it works and how effective it is. If you have a Facebook account, you should join a private group called Lichen Sclerosis 5-Star Support Group. It is filled with thousands of ladies dealing with the same thing as you and I, and so much information and help can be found there. Highly recommend it as it has helped me in so many ways. Ladies, just for the heck of it, next time you shower, and or wash try using charcoal soap, or look into it. Yardley London activated charcoal is a pretty good brand.

Agree. The local didn’t work and I felt everything. Including the silver nitrate the oncologist used to cauterize the wound. I wish this procedure was available when I first was diagnosed in 1986.

When will your patent pending become patented? When can other doctors perform this procedure? Do you have a ballpark price for this as I do not have insurance to cover it and need to save up for it. (Not including hotel stay - just your services and the lab services.) I noticed that others have asked this question without a response. Even something like less than $5 thousand will suffice.

So, if one was able to come from the UK and have this done, and return home within a few days after the treatment, won't it be rather uncomfortable to sit on a long haul flight home?
What is the actual recovery time? And do you provide aftercare or would this need to be followed up by your own Dr in the UK?
After having the treatment does it remove the LS completely? As I know there is no cure and this needs to be monitored as it can become cancerous. I'd appreciate any help and honest advice please.

No matter what this guy has to treat it there’s no removing LS there’s only treating it. I imagine what he has is simply putting people’s symptoms at ease for a awhile. Removing LS would be big news and would be reported on I’m sure, so if it were possible we would hear about it, trust me

If this new laser treatment and a more in depth biopsy works, that's great. But don't stop there. ALL ob/gyn and dermatology physician needto know about this new treatment plan. Also, every insurance company out there needs to cover this procedure regardless of being rich or poor, or on Medicare or Medicaid. I'm still a bit skeptical since we already have laser procedures but not everyone can benefit from it.
I’m 56 and was diagnosed at the age of 21…. No one has been able to help me… I have given up!!😢😢 It has affected my life physically, emotionally and sexually….. it’s just not worth the hope only to be let down…

My husband suffers from this and has went through several procedures, the Johansson, 2 stage buccal mucosal urethraplasty. We have been to multiple surgeons due to urethra strictures, the more surgeries he has more the lichen sclerosis gets, we will be in the lower MS area around Thanksgiving. He needs relief, he is in a lot of pain.

I have Vaginal LS and it’s taken over my life!! I need help so bad! All I got was a cream and it does work for alittle bit but I can’t live like this.
I haven't got a guaranteed diagnosis but im very confident it is what I have. It started in the common area for Males now its rapid spreading all over my face the past 3 weeks. Quite scared and don't know what to do. There is no Dermatologists in my city at the moment in BC Canada. Everywhere I go like hospital aren't helpful. They just tell me to take steiroids. It is really bothering my eyes the past couple days. I do not know what to do and very anxious.

Start with Harvard Kidney Stone Diet... Also listen to Nurse Jill, kidney stone podcast. Never had kidney stones but dropping high oxalate foods really helped.

From Canada as well. Just got 2nd biopsy for LS. First one 10 years was negative. Check you tube “Lichen Sclerosus support network”. Not fully convinced laser removes LS completely.

Hello Ms Kimollo. Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately the TULIP procedure is only done here at Coyle Institute. That being said the typically recommended treatment is steroid creams.

This sounds too good to be true. Well, if it really works, I’d fly right over, but I’m a skeptic as nothing has worked for me thus far. I had PRP injected a few years back, hurt like hell and just ended up with a huge flare, since then my tissue atrophy is slowly but surely progressing. So sad. If there’s even a remote chance that is works then I’ll try it. I hope it’s not just another money grabbing procedure. And yes I’m wondering how 1 laser treatment can reverse a disease process?

pauline kimollo thank you so much for reaching out to me. The traditional treatment is high potency steroids, such as Clobetasol. Usually recommend twice per day for 12 weeks, then come off until your symptoms return. The TULIP is only available out Coyle Institute. I hope this helps.

Do we have to have the biopsy if we have already had a biopsy confirming we have LS??...those biopsies HURT (I am one of those women that will not numb, even after 3 shot's)
Thank you so much for your question. Have a biopsy to confirm LS is what is normally done. The success of our treatment really depends on a specialized biopsy that not only confirms disease but also provides us with the extent of your disease. So yes a more in depth bx is required. As for your discomfort in addition to our routine numbing technique we can also provide you with “Pronox” patient self administered analgesia. We normal do not do that for the biopsy but we definitely recommend it for the treatment. There would be problem with you using it for the biopsy as well.

Is Lichen Sclerosis the same as Lichen Planus? Thank You
Lichen Sclerosus and Lichen Planus are similar but different disease processes. In Women, often lichen sclerosus is found on the vulva, while lichen planus is typically inside the vagina. Even though they are different the lond standing treatment of choice for both has been high potency steroids. The TULIP™ procedure is affective for both of these conditions as well as Lichen Simplex Chronicus, ( also different but similar condition). I hope this helps.

Vaginal atrophy is better treated with the diVa vaginal laser therapy. The TULIP™ procedure is more for the out side of the vagina while the diVa is for the inside.

The women I've talked to in my groups that have had it done have had great success, their follow up biopsy shows no LS and they are symptom free..and I believe he's only had one patient that's had to have a second treatment done...I plan on getting it done in August myself, that's the soonest I can get to Florida or it would already be done😍
So far, from the original research only two patients have had to be retreated. In addition, all of the patients that have been back to see us or followed up with us have reported significant improvement in their symptoms and are no longer on steroid use.

Hi! Do you have any new information regarding the Tulip Treatment in Germany? I searched it on google but I think it's not available in Germany yet. I stumbled across another therapy which is called the "Mona Lisa Touch". I would recommend looking it up. A few doctors offer it in Germany.
