I have the old Festool screwclamps that came with my TS55. They are, as you point out, absolutely fine for jig setup, accessory setup and multiple use scenarios. The quick release are so much better for the one hand adjustment and multiple changes. I have and use both. I find each has advantages over the other.
The locking point of the clamp is along the shank. So if you simply press the back edge you’ll create the ((tension))for either the ratchet or quick clamp face.
Great evaluation and I would be tempted to take the lesser costly version and go to my wire wheel and see if a little more finish might help the ease of movement? But that could have another effect on its performance. Always looking to improve. 🤓
Very helpful video! I clicked on the link to the clamps. Have you tried Powertec rachet version. If so do you like it better than the screw version? Thank You so much!
Apparently your last to know that Power Tech also makes a ratchet lever clamp exactly like the Bessie and the Festool !!! Also sold Home Depot online !!! Free shipping
I'm aware of them. They were out of stock when I tried to buy them during the height of the lockdown. Had to settle for the screw kind that I don't prefer.

Please, think about doing a video on your version of Ron Paulk workbench with you attachments setup. Good video on clamp options. Thank you
Thank you Paul! That is definitely on my list. It’s a game changer for sure!
I second that!

Bessey is making clamps for festool, that's why they are identical...
Yep. Hilarious (sad) that Festool then marks them up even more.
@@wittworks I guess green pain is more expensive :)
I call it the Team Green Tax.
Thanks for your honest reviews. I am enjoying your videos and now subscribed :)
Thank you Matthew! 🙂

What size of bessey quick clamps you recommend for working with 18mm melamine and similar thickness boards?
What are 34 bucks if they last for a lifetime.
I am not sure, but I think you are right that Bessey may make the festool clamp. Bessey's clamps are great clamps.

Nice video. Thank you!
Thank you Russell!
thank you
Awesome!👍
Thanks! 👍
I can see obviously you got plenty of money to spend on those unaffordable clamps.
Swimming in mountains of cash.
