AIB for me, is the best RUclips channel ever. They were so ahead of their time. Back when internet in India was mad expensive they had a cult following. All because of their content which was too creative, too awesome. I wish the channel got running again. It would be one of the best things ever

As far as I remember, i dont think Tanmay sided with the guy in the metoo case, but the issue was that even after the victim approached the company, they didnt do anything about it. Thats where tanmay was wrong. And thats what shut down AIB.

@@anantsharma6365 Donets matter, for a company you have to follow SOP. People in other cases too have to follow SOP. This can compromise safety of employees. Pro go to jail if they fail fire safety audit & sop

The infuriating part is that the allegations were proved to be false. Tanmay was right in supporting his friend. The media didn't show the other side of the story once it was revealed publicly. And even this video didn't address that. Also, the woman got almost no backlash.

He's a gem of a person, didn't deserve everything he had to go through. It's really heartbreaking to think of what AIB could've been today if our society and media weren't such snowflakes back then. But yeah really happy he fought depression and watch him flourish on the internet again❤️

The accusations were false and AIB went down for it .
False promise of marriage is actually considered as rape in Indian law ,so your ex can accuse you as a rapist and you are sent to jail ,imagine that even if you had discussed marriage and breakup you go to jail . And this law exists so that men could be blackmailed and lawyers make money out of it .
I mean men do give false promises for sexual involvement. Now I guess the only solution is to be loyal & have intimacy when you can trust.

There were 2 metoo allegations against AIB. The first one was of an employee Utsav Chakraborty sending an unsolicited picture of genitalia to a women and the management not doing anything about it despite being known.
Later the guy presented his side of the story with proofs which showed it's not a black and white story with a tilt in his favour.
The second case was against Gursimran Khamba, a fellow founder. It was just a case of bad date, nothing unconsensual.
But they got caught in the media frenzy.
brooo back in the day, if the indian audience would have accepted the AIB Roast show, the indian comedy scene would've been at a different level altogether, sadly audience fucked up and AIB had to die

@@manasmishra928 imo there's no right or wrong in comedy or art. its either your cup of tea or not. But yes, there needs to be some boundaries set. As far as I remember, AIB roast was more of fat jokes and sex jokes.
AIB the best thing ever happened to the Indian internet era. The writing was so good even I found it better than some A listed foreign RUclips sketch channels. Even today rarely any Indian RUclips channel gives that kind of content. I’d go ahead and said none! Very unfortunate that got shut down.
Carry helped alot for streaming career to get back on RUclips for Tanmay..
AIB was one of the very first indian channel that was making enjoyable comedy with solid sarcasms. I know theres controversy and everything... And in the end,a group with lots of potentials had to end their journey.
AIB comedy was good,like really good.
First is Sachin Tendulkar(God of Cricket) and second is Lata Mangeshkar(Queen of Melody,Nightingale of India ,Voice of the Millennium) . Both got "Bharat Ratna" ( is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India). Only 48 people received this award from independence and these two are one of them.
So that makes them invulnerable to humor huh?

The interesting thing about the Metoo allegation against Utsav (part of AIB videos) was that the girl was Tanmay's gf, and she was sexting with Utsav (cheating on Tanmay), which she later twisted into harassment.
With Khamba, he tried to reignite his relationship with a former lover and Khamba was at fault for abusive texts he sent the woman.

They've only been reacting to indian stuff for 4-5 years. You're acting like you'd remember every singers name if you listened to foreign music for 4-5 years.
The thing I hate the most that the punishment for the accuser is 6 months imprisonment or fine or both. That is nothing comparatively to the pain, harassment, bullying and financial loss the person who’s being accused faces in this situation. Nobody wants to be with them, nobody sponsors them even if they proven not guilty.
Punishment for person who accusing someone should be the same as the punishment for a person who found guilty in such cases. This will make every person at least think twice before pulling out such stunt. Or come up with more better solutions but there are several cases here that we can see a law which was created for a safety of the person was being used as a weapon to destroy another’s life.

MenToo is big in India because, Indian Courts consider, "Sex with false promise of marriage is rape." There is no way one can prove or disprove if there was a promise in first place. Even if such a promise is broken, all consensual sex for months or years does not become rape.
Is it still the case, I think recently it was changed that promise of marriage was no longer a determinant.

Jaby, Lata Mangeshkar is the gem singer of India. She is priceless and diamond which we lost recently. She is the bestest singer world has ever witnessed.
It's absurd to say that someone would implicate men over protecting their rep, especially women because of a certain kind of society. That's not going to save their face. It would be much worse. Whether or not someone believes their friend or co worker is a different thing. Recognising the victims statement and starting an unbiased inquiry as a CEO is a different thing. Big labels like Sony exploit their artists all the time (Kesha) and no one cancels them. Difference? One is a self made entrepreneur serving the interest of the actual big wigs. With regards to public policy and working women's rights India has some pretty democratic and empowering mechanisms even better than US. You can believe whosoever you want and how much you want but it's against the principle of natural justice to deny someone that space and scope to speak up about the injustice. And oppression is defined by that index. How much society takes away from you, your absence of choices. If you have to understand or defend someone, do it by acknowledging them as they are and their body of work, the kind of legacy they would leave behind.
Gotta say this,
Mahima alleged sexual harassment on Utsav(former AIB employee) which started the domino effect and ultimately ended with AIB going bankrupt and loss of millions of USD.
It's been 4 years, Mahima still hasn't filed an official police complaint. The case hasn't even been investigated, let alone the trial. It was all just on social media, a public trial, with no accountability and systems of checks and balance of democratic institutions. Utsav has repeatedly challenged Mahima to file a report, so he can fight it legally. No updates from Mahima though, all of us have been waiting for years to find some closure.
How ironic that "wife jokes" are found funny in India and they found this roast which is clearly a genre of comedy, as an "insult to women"

I am a 30 year old man from india and a girl who was in a relationship with me for 5 years falsely accused me of forcing her to be in relationship , women here are misusing their rights
No one should be put on such a high pedestal that they can not be made fun of BUT.. on the flip side there is a difference between making light hearted fun of someone and then down right insulting them He was impersonating them and making them use foul language which they NEVER would. This was that one step over the line. I also get that he did not have any malice in his heart but some things should not be done out of common sense. The two celebrities have worked extremely hard in their careers and garnered well deserved respect. Idols should not be needlessly taken down in the name of fun when a lot of teenagers and kids watch you who don't know any better. They need those idols to get inspired and should look up to them rather than making fun of them.

Last year There was a case registered against a TV celebrity for allegedly raping a minor(not even a teen) in his vanity and he was arrested immediately and I felt guilty for liking him IDK what was the actual case but he was arrested with pocso charges which I thought was a non bailable act but he was bailed out within 25-30 days ig...... I was angry but than I read another story which was reported that the child's mother was his CO actor and she was in an abusive marriage and a child custody case was going on between her and her ex husband. And the father falsely put allegations on the actor to prove that his ex wife cannot take care of their child, and the mother said that the actor accused is an innocent person ND my mind went blank....Like who's saying the truth who's lying...nothing is proved yet he's still out on bail.
The child definitely need help more than anyone else. If it's a false case his image was tarnished for life, the case will traumatize him lifelong, if it's true he shouldn't be out not even for a sec.
