Love seeing the high alpha characteristics of the Super hornet in this video. Very impressive. Also very glad to see you guys training against Su 30 and Mig 29. Makes me so proud to have helped make it! Great video. Keep it up.
As someone who works manufacturing parts for the F-18, this is beyond awesome to watch. We don't make anyting too fancy, just little sheet metal parts like hydraulics and wiring harness brackets, breaker boxes, and such, but it's still awe inspiring to me knowing that I may have worked to make parts that are in these craft.
This video represents the one of the greatest parts of our military! Thank you to the pilots, maintainers & everyone that supports and defends our great nation!
Wow, this is amazing. Perhaps the best I've seen. A winner on all levels. Poetic. Great images, editing, and audio. Makes me wish I was young and healthy so I could join the Navy and try to become a Super Hornet aircrew. Many thanks to all who serve. Go Navy!
Another great Hornet Ball. Loved the slow mo M83 sequence and the low level Jedi Transition bits. Caught VFA-102 a few times through Rainbow Canyon when I was last there.
dude... i saw movies like this before but...... after this movie i said i never saw something like this before.... this is `1st class movie, that video is example for others..... greetings from Poland for all pilots and crew and keep going like this....
i have been waiting for the 2015 hornet ball video, fantastic job making this it was amazing and probably the best hornet ball video I have ever seen on youtube.
I'm pretty sure those dusk shots blew my mind. Amazing work on this! Looking to pursue a career in military aviation and the Hornet Ball videos are always inspirational :)
🥀🇺🇸🥀 You have created an incredible video that allows us to see our brave men and women performing all of the necessary things that keep us safe. You are so wonderful to continue the greatest gift ever... OUR FREEDOM. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you so very much! We are able to live as we want, because of every one of you. Thank you all that have worn the uniform and have served our country that keeps us safe. Your sacrifice is taken very seriously. Much love to all of you and your families. Thanks for sharing! IMHO the subject matter and raw footage is compelling and spectacular. I think that you overdid it with the special effects. A little bit of that stuff goes a long way, and too much is a distraction, not an enhancement.
As a retired Air Force Dedicated Crew Chief on F-16's, this video is badass! Always been a fan of Tomcats and Hornets! Makes me wish I went in the Navy like my father but I chose the Air Force. I did get a good skill out of it being an F-16 maintainer but I will forever have the love of aviation running through my veins! I've got the chance to fly in the F-16 I crewed, call sign "Aloha 2", It was an awesome experience of a lifetime flying for 1.5hrs and pulling 9.1G's. I would love to get a flight in a Super Hornet! I've already became a Wingnut fan!
You'er one lucky person,. i was a flight sim type ((F-16) Falcon 4.0 )) with only dreams of such,. soloed a C152 back in "75" but no jets ... i was PLoW-BoY 1 ...
Nice to see the KIDD (DDG100) footage and their Tomahawk launch. Being in the chase plane must have been a real hoot!Great editing, big thumping music, fantastic video. The Aviation Navy has come a long way since my day (Avgas and R1820s and a wooden 27A flight deck, CVS-9). Just loving it all. Fly safe, fast and often!
BO$$ video Stephens, seriously epic man. Just make sure your audio levels are checked prior to the final render and you'll be friggin' platinum. I believe your levels are past peaking which is causing clipping which leads to a significant loss of the range of audio we should be hearing. Your video editor should be able to view the audio waveform for the video and from there you should be able to somehow reduce the overall sound level until the tips of the peaks in the waveform are just visible. If you do that, BAM, no more clipping and you're audio issues are solved.
I can only give you one single like, but I'll give you a thousand! Love this video, especially the center part! It's gorgeous! Definitely one of my favourites videos! Thanks!
You were with the Diamondbacks? My daughter just joined them a couple of weeks ago. First Fleet Squadron assignment. She says everyone there is AWESOME! She didn't make it Hornet Ball this year. She was packing for Japan! (Left the Monday after the ball....) :-)
Really? I actually got a video of that take off. Sound was ok, but can't really see much. I came up to help her and meet the movers the next day. She told me about what time she would be flying that evening and I headed over to the Ops side to that parking lot beyond the hangars to watch. Then went over to the memorial and watched FCLP for a long time, but I know you were not a part of that. FCLP at night is pretty amazing to see. It was beautiful that evening. Were you also at her patching? Her Dad got a little video of her during that. "Why'd she join the Navy? So she could get salutes from her Dad." I'm sure she is going to enjoy being a part of 102. She said that everyone she encountered who had been there had nothing but great things to say about it. She was so happy to get it and so far everything has been going well. Already saw her selfie with Fuji in the background! She had a great experience at 122 too. Thank you.
Holy Shit, that was fucking awesome. 6:30 When the Ticonderoga fired that Tomahawk, I sat up in my seat. That might have been the first shots fired in Libya 2011, if not I saw a damn near sight.
Awesome Video!! No other Navy in the world shows the professionalism and proficiency of the US Navy. We are fortunate to have men and women that are willing to volunteer to be the best armed force on planet earth. I think I can safely say that myself and millions of other citizens of the USA are proud as hell that the US Navy is there as the tip of the spear!!
+danahan01 Excuse me? How about the Brits and Australia? Not as big but every bit as professional......likewise their air forces.......both punch above their weight.
danahan01 Aircraft carriers were not mentioned.....just "professionalism" and "proficiency".......so in that regard there is no difference......they are all professionals and good at what they do. The RAF and RAAF have been in the business for longer than just about anyone else......including the USAF/VFA.
AUmarcus Right now I think the Frenchy French are kinda wiping the table when it comes to actually doing something. Whenever the Brits get in big trouble, the US military saves the day, again and again... Ta Ta!!
danahan01 Are you referring to the coalition against ISIL? There are US, French, British, Australian and Canadian jets amongst others all doing their bit......its just that some of us tend to blow our own trumpet less than others......get it? Even Russia is fighting against them. Did you save the day for Britain in lets say the Battle of Britain? Last time i checked British, Czech, NZ, Polish and Australian airmen had the most number of kills on the allied side......that's never going to change. "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few".....Churchill wasnt referring to any American airman when he made that statement. Bravado is one thing......doing it for real is quite another matter.
danahan01 Who was fighting the Japanese? That was the allies again my friend.....not just the US. Did you forget you had to drop a couple of A bombs to bring them to their knees? The USSR actually sapped more out the Nazis than everybody else put together. Doesn't really matter what President it is......when the shite hits the fan the British or Australian PM's of the day are usually the first ones to get a call.
TOTALLY FEELIN THE MUSIC!! ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE OF MUSIC WHEN IT COMES TO MILITARY VIDEOS. LOLS WE ALWAYS HEARING THE ROCK N ROLL AND ALITTLE BIT OF HIP HOP. LOLS. ALL AND ALL SICK VIDEO WITH BACKGROUND MUSIC!!
@Joe Stephens, Any chance you have hi-res stills from this video posted somewhere? There are some very nice sections here that I'd love to make a print of and put on the wall in the office.
Hey Joe! Me and my friend want to both join the navy and be aviators together. We want to fly the F/A18F together, and I was wondering if you have to request to specifically to be a WSO or you just have a chance of being a WSO?
While certainly an excellent production - it's obvious that people should not consider this to be the "official" 2015 hornet ball video & should wait to see what Wingnut Wick puts together. There is a lot of beautiful footage in this clip - but there is also a truckload of recycled footage from previous Hornet Ball vids, random other vids and last year's Australian Hornet Ball video. I was surprised to also hear recycled soundtrack music from the Australian ball - right along with the same style of super-slo-mo & "atmosphere" footage that went with it. As a result of all this - I'd honestly recommend changing the name of the video & leave it for the real one. Just my $.07.... take it, leave it or F it. :)
+Joe Stephens This is a great video regardless of footage seen in Wingnuts or any other Hornet Ball video. Who gives a sh*t anyway...I'm jelly I can't be involved in making something like this. Much more exciting then some of the USAF videos on the Tube. Wings level maybe drop a bomb on a cardboard tank. It's all love for my countrymen, I'm just trollin....! Makes every dime Uncle Same takes to make this possible well worth it. Absolutely loved it 100% my friend.
+robaksha If you go to WingNuts channel you would know that he said he cannot make the video this year because he is about to deploy so Joe is making it. Do some research before commenting. This is the official video.
This is an amazing video I've ever seen.. But who's pilot is working hard to be professional pilot... I can do it but collage didn't give me chance.. I'm very sad until I died 💔☹
+Joe Stephens ahh, I see now. Nice one - unfortunately, I suffer dungetititis! All very nice footage, but the fireworks in that shot are timed to perfection with the soundtrack!

RIP

Hands down the best video I have seen in a long time. Great HD shots! and the drone work really is a plus!
The Birds resting on the Target Ship took off lighter than they landed.
+TheDustysix Scared shitless, the body knows!
This is something that needs to be able to be liked more than once.

Dat frame rate doe! nice vid.. still excited to see what +wingnut wick puts out this year
+Taylor Thompson I agree. last year's video seems impossible to beat. Although I loved @Joe Stephens choice of Celldweller...
Every soldier, airman, sailor, and Marine, I pray you understand how strong our love for you is.
Glitch mob fits any aviation video... So good...
the rare video that i ever senn
Go Malaysia..Proud..
As a former Marine Hornet maintainer this makes me happy. Though there's a distinct lack of legacy bugs lol.

Joe, Wingnut has competition now with this video. Fire'em UP!
+Joe Stephens Speaking of which, is Wingnut instructing now? Assuming you know.
+ Joe Stephens makes sense. I there seemed to a be quiet a bit of change up, the past 6-7 months.
+Ryan Toole
Right! I'm hoping to see more! Nice job Joe!
Unreal Video, the look is outstanding.

amazing video, really liked it, great song choices to, 100 thumbs up
I know I'm 6 years too late but no-no-no more of the fancy headache-generating editing. I want raw jet video to rock music!
I want to be a Fighter Pilot more then anything. Hopefully I get accepted to flight school after college.
You are all my STARS THX for ALL - i love you 💕⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯💖✌✌💥😂😎👍😇

Fighter pilot hopeful here. Can you offer any insight into what sets apart those who go down the jet pipeline in flight school?
That's so bad ass. that's awesome
Great video! I love this!
Do Superbugs get some kind of fancy helmet these days?
@Joe Stephens, Any chance you have hi-res stills from this video posted somewhere? There are some very nice sections here that I'd love to make a print of and put on the wall in the office.
awesome!
From your personal opinion, does the Rhino hold up its own against the majority of current aircraft Joe
When you do air to air combat exercises what do you fire at?
Hey Joe! Me and my friend want to both join the navy and be aviators together. We want to fly the F/A18F together, and I was wondering if you have to request to specifically to be a WSO or you just have a chance of being a WSO?
Badass video! :)
Did you edit this all yourself? It must have taken a lot of hours
What do you mean by "Australian driver, closed course. Don't do this." ??
What video editing software was used for this?

+Joe Stephens ahh, I see now. Nice one - unfortunately, I suffer dungetititis!
All very nice footage, but the fireworks in that shot are timed to perfection with the soundtrack!
Приятная музычка
what'd you use to edit this video?

Thanks for sharing!!!

😊
Who's SU's Were those at around 3:35 ? I see two.. one Close in on the left and right
At 3:54, is the fighter in the foreground Russian from the RMAF? When and where was that video taken?
South China Sea
Awesome.
Sometimes I'm sad to not have signed on the army...But anyway, i'm working on aircraft, and that's all i want !
+DamDam
Trust me you don't want to sign up.The DOD spends alot of money on recruiting ads and they're targeted at 18 year olds who are easily manipulated.
Are those MiGs around 3:53?
Beautiful video!! Great job on filming and editing. Can't help but notice - from 3:51-3:56, were those Mig-29s? They don't look like F/A-18s.
Yes Royal Malaysian Airforce MiG-29N.
An awesome video I have ever seen :)
Why is Rhino Ball down? I loved that video :(
What is this shit....
