In this issue Storm wrestles with the fact that she no longer has her powers. It is also the start of a love story between her and Forge. Little does Storm know that Forge has a devastating secret......
In the second episode of X-Men '97 we saw Storm lose her powers. I knew it was coming once they had released the titles for the new episodes, but it's still so sad! In the cartoon instead of saving Rogue she saves Magneto. Forge has not been a huge character in the present-day X-Men cast. He shows up more in the year 2055 Bishop episodes. Although, he did make a present-day appearance in the "Cold Comfort" episode featuring X-Factor. What are your thoughts? Will he be part of Storm's journey through this period in the show? Will it be a love story?

I always thought Forge was a really interesting character, but the comics just seemed to sort of forget about him after Claremont got fired. But the Dire Wraiths I think were less interesting versions of the Mojoverse Warwolves (though I can't remember if they predated them), but that may be because I was very partial to Excalibur as it was the first X-book that I started with the first issue when it came out, as opposed to having to hunt for back issues and reprints.
Are you going to do a review of the '97 series once it's all released?

I'm interested to see what part he is going to play in Storm's story in the animated series. Excalibur was always a fun series.
I have done a couple of posts about the series - talking about my favorite moments and such. I might do a video about it when it's finished for the season.
