Just found your channel today. Binged your sketch books and love your art. I am almost 68 and just starting not much talent but want to try. I bought everything you can think of. Maybe not the best quality products but I have I think I have reasonable water color and chalk pastels, I also have some oil ones not great but I bought some water soluble from Temu to try now I'm frozen and to scared to start lol. I am going to keep watching and I need the kick in the butt to get going. But I really want to say thanks for all your help and hard work 👍 ❤️ blessings from Ontario 🇨🇦🙏👍😍❤️
You make the kind of art I want to make but sometimes don‘t feel brave enough to go for! Bright and instinctive and colourful and AMAZING. I really love watching you work. It makes me rethink how I work - thinking too much about what could go wrong and not enough just trying stuff out.
So beautiful, Sophie!! I have yet to use oil pastels in this capacity but I also have an old set a friend gave me and I haven’t touched them yet. I love soft pastel but the oil ones are built so different!! I would definitely use the Sennelier Oil Patel fixative though! Although I haven’t used them I have some knowledge about them from working at an art store for many years hehe. Much love! ❤️
Love your vibes so much! These pastels look amazing. They look as creamy as lipstick, is that true? Sadly, I bought a cheap box of oil pastels and they were super waxy and not creamy at all. Didn't like them at all, but when I see these, it looks like super buttery and i think then, maybe they are nice
Lipstick is the perfect description! They’re the fancy high quality brand, so they’re beautiful to work with. I’d like to try a cheaper brand just to compare!
I have started using oil pastels, along with mat acrylics, colored pencils and collage, for my mixed media pieces. BUT my big question, how will you finish this? Varnish, wax, or nothing?
I haven’t finished it with anything yet! I’m not sure what I need to do that! Planning on going into an art supplies store this weekend to ask the staff
I love the whale 🐳 water cup it’s so cute! Also beautiful work! ❤❤

I am obsessed with this one!! I can’t believe this is your first time using oil pastels, look how amazing it came out!
🧡 thank you so much!!!!!
Beautiful just love the colors ❤
Ah, the color of the underpainting was such a great choice! Everything comes together so well!
Ok - now I’m inspired to go blow the dust off a box of oil pastels I’ve never really used before. Thanks for the inspiration!
like painting with sticks of pigmented butter! YUM! hehe
I think this is the best way to describe sennelier oil pastel :D Lovely piece!
Yes! They are soooo decadent!!!
Didn’t know that oil pastels can do such wonders, realistic work of art❤
I wish I could give this more than one like!!! The way you see the world and translate that on paper is amazing.
🧡🧡🧡

Beautiful , is not enough to describe your art work ❤
I always dig your background music choices so much! ❤
Sennelier has a fixative for their product. It is in a spray. Does not dry them, but it does help
The jazzy music was such a vibe!
Also you visited Scotland in 2027! Please share how you journeyed to the future. ✨
Good typo catch! Haha

With your playful style I’m surprised that you hadn’t used them for a long time, but you seemed to enjoy it now.
Love your style very unique. 😊

Oooh thank you! I’m happy to hear there’s a fixative of the same brand!
Beautiful artwork ❤
Can we talk about this background music ?? It is boss !
I love Motown music so so much, and this is the closest I could find vía epidemic sounds! So glad you dig it!

Honestly, oil pastels were made for you 🤗💖✨
if you are going to start using oil pastels again, those are def the ones to use . they are so nice, but so expensive lol
I want to try this too im feeling scared and anxious about it. Maybe i can use cheaper materials first

@@SophieMcPike Great. Please share with the class:)
Beautiful beautiful vibrant work. Not a medium I’d choose to work with though…… too messy
Sooo messy! I did hate the oil feeling on my hands. I see people using latex gloves when using oil pastels but it’s too much distraction for me!
