    I worked in public service ( 14 yrs in federal govt & 3 in state govt). The majority of public servants are only concerned about moving up the pay scale & pouring as much money as they can to their defined benefit superfunds. The majority I worked with were USELESS…

      ...and, Peter Costello, ITS YOUR CLASS OF CITIZEN THAT MILKS THE PUBLIC SYSTEM THE MOST,
      WHO IS PALADIN?
      Who sacked the beuracracy and had KPMG and PWC come and replace it and milk that system 10 times worse than the previous beuracracy employed..
      THAT WAS YOU PETER COSTELLO.
      AND WHO presided over the largest cost shift of public debt to private family debt in the history of this country while spending windfall resources gains on election sweetners.
      You did Costello.
      Now fudge off, cretin.
      And take these albo government entitled counts with you.

    The people cannot trust Representatives anymore, we need to change to Direct Democracy, where the people vote online on ALL legislation. Take power away from minorities and give it the majority. This would be a major boost for QUALITY legislation. g

    Imagine how much stronger a position Australia would be in if Howard and Costello didn't privatise national assets to the degree that they did. Imagine if they took full advantage of the mining boom by taxing mining companies and building a National Wealth Fund. Imagine if they used the mining boom royalties to fund local industry. Australia has a cost of living crisis today because of the failings of Howard and Costello yesterday. Mr Costello, you and Howard sold out Australia in the name of Neo-Liberalism. You failed us.

    • @andrewmcneil7157
      @andrewmcneil7157 6 часов назад +2

      Correct. Agree with all of your points. Their Baby bonus and first home buyers scheme were two total shockers. The baby bonus did very little to encourage Aus career driven women to increase their family size. It did however make the country look like a steak dinner to foreigners looking for a country to move to for free stuff.
      House prices took off under these guys.
      Just imagine though if it was an Albo govt running the show back then! My God it would have been worse

  • @andrewmcneil7157
    @andrewmcneil7157 6 часов назад +1

    All goods points. Let’s not forget though that he and Howard used the mining boom to essentially buy middle class votes. Baby bonuses, first home buyer grants( straight to developers pockets)
    Not all fantastic in hindsight 20 years on.
