As an INFJ I've tried social media to promote my art and very quickly deleted my profiles. The more attention it got the more overwhelmed and unhappy I felt. Definitely wasn't for me, so I agree with you!
I agree with you on this topic. I honestly don’t know how Infjs like yourself can do what you do on social media. I tried my own channel… I hated it. Not because I don’t want to get a message across but because of all the details going into making a RUclips worthy video. And answering all the comments. Bless you, REN for answering comments! 😁
The analysis of being "clued in" is spot on and it reeks of soul sucking conformity. There would probably be a way as long as you never give in to your audience and keep authenticity front and center, but that just sounds exhausting to be honest. Plus I do have desire to make people happy, so while it could be done it feels like to much of a tight rope and feels draining even thinking about it.
Hi Ren, Thanks for answering that particularly goofy question of mine. 😂 The "clued into the moment" is so true to me. The privacy as well as the energy to do this is also a factor (for me that is.) Also to always be fast paced in those particular social media influencer, areas would drive me insane or moody. I thought of being a booktuber or a booktoker but I decided to just have a book media account like goodreads or storygraph for now and its been suiting me fine. What lead to me asking that was that I always thought that social media influencers were mainly dominated by extroverts. I also entertained the notion that maybe INFJs can be in that sphere as well since theres also actors who are INFJ but they disappear and reappear in the media spotlight. But yes Ren, I do think that you are in some way an influencer since you are very consistent and been doing this for years, you also take the time to answer questions which helps your content grow along with your viewers. Some questions: 1) Do you think that the INFJs calm "aura" also affects other animals like cats or dogs? 2) Why is it our natural instinct to have a "stoic expression" when people yell at us or when a situation gets too stressful? 3) Why do we take responsibility to heart? 5:27 OK, so that's a bit different from what i was thinking...I've been thinking of influencers in more general way as those who shift patterns of behavior in a noticable / measurable way. In the context of social media influence....I think your predictions are spot on. Perhaps niche influencers would be more common, affecting those who can detect meaningful patterns in a shorter time span? Also: can we distinguish between more transient influence (like viral challenges) and real Paradigm shifts...Could you argue that while INFJs are not influencers in a more global way within the existing frameworks, they could be key players in major shifts in how people think, inquire, act?
Yeah, I think he means, why can't INFJs become mainstream social media influencers? We certainly do influence; that is part of our power and our curse, IMHO.
2:18 Will it be as rare as being a solipsistic and spiritualized INFJ? I notice one thing: if you go against the grain consistently, people start imitating you. Sometimes that takes years, but it does happen eventually. For example, I've been doing the opposite of everyone in elementary school ( mostly accidentally...due to not caring too much) and after a few years I became somethin gof a niche role model. For example, i consistently wore skirts while all other girls wore pants...after a couple of years this prompted class-wide "skirt days" lol And this also manifested in more serious ways like a number of students voting for me to become a class president...thank goodness I avoided that, but ended up leading a class newspaper. In many ways I was both an outcast and a role model haha Similar things happened in high school (e.g., girls wearing their hair a certain way - my family laughed that I started a trend, which I was totally oblivious to; they still talk about it)...Not many examples since then. But I still strongly believe that if you do something consistently, you can have an impact. Maybe if it happens more slowly, it will be more profound and long-lasting?
Well, if you look at hte words ' middle aged" then if we double it, you would get 75 which is called old and about the time people die quite often.So the middle of that is about 37. However, a lot of people call people middle aged if theyre in fact on 2/3rd of their lives, which is not really ' middle aged' in any logical sense. It's irrational hopeful dreaming that the average person reaches 100 years of age
Age 35 used to be considered the start of middle age when life expectancy was closer to 65, but now that life expectancy is about 79, middle age starts around 45. So, you are still young. Have fun!
Now as an INFJ, myself, this is a little goofy. influencer -noun : one who exerts influence : a person who inspires or guides the actions of others. Simply just making content on You Tube and having an influence on the community that you make content for, will justify being an influencer. It's really not that deep. It has nothing to do with age or being an INFJ. 🤣 It's really about HOW you handle your mind when it comes to the attention. Some INFJs can;Some INFJs can't.
