Endangered Wolf Pup Cuddles with Big Sister

Raising pups is a family affair; it is natural for all the wolves to pitch in.
With parents Trumpet and Lighhawk, the four three-week-olds born on April 26, and the three yearlings (Babs, Kral, and Jow Darling) born in 2018, Wolf Conservation Center webcam viewers have an opportunity to study the complex social structure of a multigenerational pack.
The yearlings will assist their parents in rearing their younger siblings by regurgitating food for them, playing with them, and even babysitting. Moreover, the parents will demonstrate critical parenting strategies and techniques for the yearlings to employ when they have pups of their own.
Passing down knowledge from one generation to the next also allows the family to maintain traditions unique to that pack.
Beyond being adorable and cuddly, this Mexican gray wolf family represents the Wolf Conservation Center's active participation in the effort to save this species from the brink of extinction.
The WCC, a 501c3 non-profit organization in South Salem, NY, is one of a network of facilities participating in the Mexican Wolf Species Survival Plan - a bi-national initiative whose primary purpose is to support the reestablishment of Mexican gray wolves in the wild through captive breeding, public education, and research.

Lol I get the fascination, but honestly I don’t think it’s crazy at all. Put me in their situation, I’ll have the same reaction. Even at home if I hear something out of place like a door close from the wind, I’m on alert, hoping it’s not a burglar😂

You know humans siblings are supposed to cuddle too, everyone having their own bed and their own room is unnatural such a set up only came about do to being a status symbol that you can afford for every member to have their own room and bed. Humans need closeness and warmph form their family, so dont ever force your kids to sleep alone, an empty bedroom will do no harm, forcing a kid who is scared of the dark to be alone in the dark will cause plenty of harm.

@@lugh6982 20, but considering in 2021 only 537 are known to exist, 20 is a pretty significant population increase for a single year. Additionally, population growth of any kind is the start of repopulation of any kind; more babies one year means more babies in a couple years, ya dig?

Wolf families are more loving than a lot of human families! The older siblings help raise the new pups and don't start their own families until the pups can hunt for themselves and the parents give the older siblings permission to leave home.
