Yes, I know he flew off but I persume his body faded away fully during the flight. Either that or Eggman clocked the Ruby too far and the Ruby took Infinite with it in its death.

I had an entire theory that Infinite went into CYBERSPACE after being consumed, and that was the voice trying to get you to destroy the Titans - Infinite attempting to escape.
Never forget what they took from us. I really thought we were gonna fight Infinite as Super Sonic. It could've been a "Phantom Ruby vs Chaos Emeralds" kind of thing, where the Phantom Ruby's power could be countered by the Emeralds

Honestly, this couldve been the final fight in Sonic Forces. Infinite corrupts reality to make it an illusion for his own world, and Sonic uses the chaos emeralds to go super to defeat him to fix the reality.
Well, it’s better than what we actually got. It’s insane that this game has like, THE best Super Sonic fights in the entire series, and yet at the same time it has one of the worst Final Bosses in the entire series. And problems with the fight and the lackluster villain aside… the setup for this game seemed like it would tie in PERFECTLY with, among other things, the Phantom Ruby and the illusory reality it creates. I’m pretty satisfied with the story as is, and as is there really isn’t any space for Infinite, but I would’ve loved to see him come back and be utilized well.
If executed well, I can totally see him being one hell of a boss fight especially with super sonic involved. Plus with the phantom ruby uses, they can make it challenging if they really wanted too

@@sonicdml4175 yes sonic has improved over the course of the games but he has always been crazy strong even base adventure era sonic was superior to ultimate Emeral who had all the chaos emeralds plus all sonics moves plus power from one of eggman's super weapons so i certainly wouldnt say there is that huge of a gap. Classic sonic should be a bit below Adventure sonic who in turn is a bit below modern. Taking into account how badly infinite beat sonic in the first bout with the initial shock sonic must have felt at the time and being outnumbered as well as the seemingly implied tie of the second bout and it seems infinite and the phantom ruby are a pretty consistent threat so if it were to be supercharged so to speak, infinite could certainly give super sonic a semi decent fight. Id say more than the titans, less than the end but nowhere near solaris or time eater.
Would be cool. But if anything it'd be Sonic saving Infinite from Shadow. Cause Shadow would just take his inhibitor rings off and beat Infinite like a drum all over again. The game just did such a bad job with Infinite. Once the player avatar defeated him I just shook my head and was like: "Welp....he's a joke now." Infinite needed to be a Nemesis/Mr. X level threat until the end of the game impo. Requiring a minimum of Super Sonic (and maybe Super Classic Sonic) to actually defeat.

It sounds like the two songs aren't integrated together properly, that there's a bit of a music clash between the two. And that's perfect, given Infinite's whole theme of virtual reality and illusions, it's the truth cracking through and threatening to destroy the illusion contained within.

Find Your Flame legit had me thinking Infinite was gonna be a part of the story, I was a little disappointed by the finale but not because it didn't have Infinite, it just felt rushed and kinda weird they would make the final boss the hacker mini game instead of ending it in another epic boss fight
I think the hacker minigame is just a bonus, i feel like just the cinematic is what makes me think the fight is good CANON WISE as sage knew if it was drawn out anymore, not even super sonic could fight back so they had to end it there
This song already shows that infinite deserved to have a potential to replace Mephiles as the best villain in the Sonic franchise. But it didn't end up being.
This made me realize that Super Sonic **never** fought an equally-sized opponent in the games. He's always been fighting enemies who are monstrously big, but a one-on-one duel between Super Sonic and whoever else is something we have never seen so far, except for that brief scene in Sonic X where he fights Super Shadow. I think it'd be cool to see a boss like this. Picture Sir Lancelot from Black Knight, but on the Super levels!
Well there was Ix in sonic chronicles but thats about it, honestly im shocked we never got a super sonic vs super shadow fight in any of the games seems like an obvious fight to have at some point.
@@immasword The big issue was that Super Ix was a complete joke of a fight. If Sonic Chronicles wasn't rushed to hell and back, I'm sure it'd have made for a decent final boss. Maybe in the future some madman's gonna try and recreate Sonic Chronicles in the way it was intended to be; crazier things have happened before.
When you realise they could of made "Mad/Insane Infinite" into a giant version of himself in frontiers for a ending fight. The End literally taking on the visage of infinite but attempting to send sonics mind into cyberspace during phase 2, only to break out and destroy the Ruby.

We could’ve gotten something like this for Forces Super Sonic and Infinite fighting at full power within the empty and endless realm of Null Space, meanwhile Infinite’s Theme blares in the background (or at least some variation of it). But no, we got rip-off Lyric and discount Nega-Wisp armour

These two songs are kinda opposites I think, find your flame talks about finding your own path to victory and overcoming destiny, and infinite theme is like your story ends here before me
I fully headcannon the Phantom Ruby as being a shard of the End. Hell, when Infinite fades away after his boss fight, the End could be reclaiming that shard as the overexertion causes Infinite to lose control, and the End just dragged Infinite into cyberspace with it.
Unfortunately Sega won't let Ian touch him for some reason and we probably will never see Infinite in the comics unless Ian can convince them into actually giving him a chance to do it. That is an interesting theory though. Honestly I made a similar theory with The End and the Phantom Ruby, where the Ruby was actually a fragment of the Entity and was using Eggman and Infinite to gather data on the Living World and the Illusions were a part of The End looking into the Character's minds.
Like other people kinda say I could imagine Super Sonic fighting Infinite or at least a stronger copy of him in cyberspace in like a dlc or smthn like a ‘Cyberspace boss rush’ that includes fights with other strong opponents Sonic faces like a duplicate Shadow or Silver and such
That is an interesting theory to think but if that were the case then why did The End grab Infinite’s Phantom Ruby and not Eggman’s Phantom Ruby? Remember, Eggman experimented with defective prototypes and implemented the finalized prototype onto Infinite while he kept the real one. Then when infinite disappeared, Eggman used the real Phantom Ruby in his Death Egg Robot for all three parts in the final battle against both sonics and your avatar. Also, in Sonic Mania Plus, the real Phantom Ruby actually returns to Classic Sonic’s dimension, giving us the same adventure we got in Sonic Mania with the addition of Ray and Mighty, reviving the destroyed robots at the end of Sonic Mania, and it went on a rampage at the end of Sonic Mania Plus. I would think if the Phantom Ruby was a shard of The End, then The End would steal its shard (the real Phantom Ruby) back when it failed against the two sonics and your avatar.
Also, I’m not sure if The End has that illusion power. The End didn’t really have the power to alter reality during the few times we’ve seen it’s power be unleashed onto the ancients home world, all it did was destroy everything in its path with energy blasts. It doesn’t create an illusion when Sonic and his friends see the ancients past bc The End was trapped in cyberspace with the supreme titan. I’m not saying it’s a bad theory. I actually thought it could’ve been true. But when I looked back between Mania, Forces, Mania Plus, and Frontiers, some things didn’t really match up. I think if Infinite was given the real Phantom Ruby then it would actually make sense bc then Mania Plus wouldn’t exist and then if The End did have some illusion powers then it would make sense for The End to steal back the shard. It would also make its “living void” feel more true bc I’d like to think that the Egg Reverie Zone and Null Space are both some type of voids themselves.
This is how i feel a secret final boss with infinite would work: to even access him, you have to collect phantom ruby shards that are scattered across the world, and also the main levels, but there's only one shard in the sub space levels. As for the fight itself: infinite will be a very fast boss, since he's the same size as you, he can shoot those phantom cubes from his hands and can summon them to create a barrage of them, he can also block your attacks and even parry if you're not careful, he can also do melee attack's and do his own variants of Sonic's special moves, and he shoot massive lasers from his hands and chest, and also create spikes and cannon's as obstacles. He's basically using the phantom Ruby to it's fullest potential
@GalactixMay And it feels like the lyrics are sorta opposed to his as well. Like, if Infinite's theme is about how he's unstoppable because of what he went through, then Find Your Flame feels like it's about how *we won't back down* even in the face of such a powerful foe.

this could work as a final boss fight with avatar/rookie's character development and sonic vs infinite and his digging-himself-deeper-after-hitting-rock-bottom and dependence on power
Find your flame sounds like the rising hope of someone who grows to the battle Infinity sounds like someone overpowering another yet is falling in despair beside a clash of the 2 this sounds like someone Overpowered who gains a rising hope where their win condition wasn't their overwhelming strength but the once lost feeling of passion returning
I've seen many other covers like this but *this* this is the best one it's perfectly a combo of the 2 themes instead of just 1 being played with the theme of the other
If this fight happened I can garentee that the game would've been worth it for that alone. Imagine normal sonic game play and then being thrust into a full on devil may cry fight.

I am now imagining an Infinite 100% VS Super Sonic fight and it's sick, the power of imagination and the power of illusion which would win. Imagining how Infinite would make the battle harder by shifting everything around them, and Super Sonic would just keep on going.
I agree that this is good, also another cool name could've been "(Your) Infinite Flame." This reminds me that we got robbed of a possibly amazing final battle from a mediocre game.
Bro imagine a fight between Super Sonic and "Null" Infinite (or whatever title you wanna give him), one phase could be against one of the freaky long boi Infinites and work like a bizarre Titan battle.

Find Your Flame legit had me thinking Infinite was gonna be a part of the story, I was a little disappointed by the finale but not because it didn't have Infinite, it just felt rushed and kinda weird they would make the final boss the hacker mini game instead of ending it in another epic boss fight
I think the hacker minigame is just a bonus, i feel like just the cinematic is what makes me think the fight is good CANON WISE as sage knew if it was drawn out anymore, not even super sonic could fight back so they had to end it there
I like the ending fight actually, reminds me a lot about nier automata (9S's perspective), which might have been the inspiration

That placement of "I'm coming at you like a tidal wave" is SO PERFECT I hear it every time I listen to Find Your Flame.
This made me realize that Super Sonic **never** fought an equally-sized opponent in the games. He's always been fighting enemies who are monstrously big, but a one-on-one duel between Super Sonic and whoever else is something we have never seen so far, except for that brief scene in Sonic X where he fights Super Shadow.
I think it'd be cool to see a boss like this. Picture Sir Lancelot from Black Knight, but on the Super levels!

Well there was Ix in sonic chronicles but thats about it, honestly im shocked we never got a super sonic vs super shadow fight in any of the games seems like an obvious fight to have at some point.
@@immasword The big issue was that Super Ix was a complete joke of a fight. If Sonic Chronicles wasn't rushed to hell and back, I'm sure it'd have made for a decent final boss. Maybe in the future some madman's gonna try and recreate Sonic Chronicles in the way it was intended to be; crazier things have happened before.

When you realise they could of made "Mad/Insane Infinite" into a giant version of himself in frontiers for a ending fight. The End literally taking on the visage of infinite but attempting to send sonics mind into cyberspace during phase 2, only to break out and destroy the Ruby.

I fully headcannon the Phantom Ruby as being a shard of the End. Hell, when Infinite fades away after his boss fight, the End could be reclaiming that shard as the overexertion causes Infinite to lose control, and the End just dragged Infinite into cyberspace with it.
Unfortunately Sega won't let Ian touch him for some reason and we probably will never see Infinite in the comics unless Ian can convince them into actually giving him a chance to do it. That is an interesting theory though. Honestly I made a similar theory with The End and the Phantom Ruby, where the Ruby was actually a fragment of the Entity and was using Eggman and Infinite to gather data on the Living World and the Illusions were a part of The End looking into the Character's minds.
Like other people kinda say I could imagine Super Sonic fighting Infinite or at least a stronger copy of him in cyberspace in like a dlc or smthn like a ‘Cyberspace boss rush’ that includes fights with other strong opponents Sonic faces like a duplicate Shadow or Silver and such
That is an interesting theory to think but if that were the case then why did The End grab Infinite’s Phantom Ruby and not Eggman’s Phantom Ruby? Remember, Eggman experimented with defective prototypes and implemented the finalized prototype onto Infinite while he kept the real one. Then when infinite disappeared, Eggman used the real Phantom Ruby in his Death Egg Robot for all three parts in the final battle against both sonics and your avatar. Also, in Sonic Mania Plus, the real Phantom Ruby actually returns to Classic Sonic’s dimension, giving us the same adventure we got in Sonic Mania with the addition of Ray and Mighty, reviving the destroyed robots at the end of Sonic Mania, and it went on a rampage at the end of Sonic Mania Plus. I would think if the Phantom Ruby was a shard of The End, then The End would steal its shard (the real Phantom Ruby) back when it failed against the two sonics and your avatar.
Also, I’m not sure if The End has that illusion power. The End didn’t really have the power to alter reality during the few times we’ve seen it’s power be unleashed onto the ancients home world, all it did was destroy everything in its path with energy blasts. It doesn’t create an illusion when Sonic and his friends see the ancients past bc The End was trapped in cyberspace with the supreme titan.
I’m not saying it’s a bad theory. I actually thought it could’ve been true. But when I looked back between Mania, Forces, Mania Plus, and Frontiers, some things didn’t really match up. I think if Infinite was given the real Phantom Ruby then it would actually make sense bc then Mania Plus wouldn’t exist and then if The End did have some illusion powers then it would make sense for The End to steal back the shard. It would also make its “living void” feel more true bc I’d like to think that the Egg Reverie Zone and Null Space are both some type of voids themselves.

This is how i feel a secret final boss with infinite would work: to even access him, you have to collect phantom ruby shards that are scattered across the world, and also the main levels, but there's only one shard in the sub space levels. As for the fight itself: infinite will be a very fast boss, since he's the same size as you, he can shoot those phantom cubes from his hands and can summon them to create a barrage of them, he can also block your attacks and even parry if you're not careful, he can also do melee attack's and do his own variants of Sonic's special moves, and he shoot massive lasers from his hands and chest, and also create spikes and cannon's as obstacles. He's basically using the phantom Ruby to it's fullest potential
I believe I read somewhere that Find Your Flame felt like a thematic opposite to Infinite's theme.
I believe it!! Find Your Flame is much more positive and uplifting compared to Infinites theme
