At first, I felt the tempo was too frenetic to hold onto the effortlessness of the original --- until I kept listening and could hear that these guys have the chops to keep from breaking a sweat, even at this high energy pace. A new fan.
Archie Bell's "Tighten Up" has been a lifelong favorite, and could never hear it enough....then I heard this......a longer version of a great tune by this talented bunch of guys........I feel like I made it late to the party with Jamiriquai, but have been catching up.....my morning routine is mix my protein shake, make coffee, and cue up this song to get my day rolling.......the trumpet piece is fucking awesome.....
