Just make a new class of sport where all gene edited athletes compete, just like a server specifically for cheaters in titanfall

they do that in bodybuilding pretty much; they have competitions specifically for 'naturals'. What ends up happening is even in the so called 'natural' events the competitors still cheat, they just do so secretly

The problem is, that you cannot distinguish between naturals and edited athletes. Just like you cannot distinguidsh between doped and undoped athletes

Sports? No, it's going to be the future of life for those that can afford it.

Its fairly cheap and easy, but if only one has perfected it then he can set the prices to whatever he wants

Not sure how that relates to my comment, but I don't know the implications of that to be honest, my biology is pretty weak. What do you think happens?

Humans will have the ability to permanently alter our genes and people are worried about cheating in sports... By this logic anyone could get super athlete genes and sport for competition would become irrelevant.
"But people could have different skill knowledge, training methodologies and motivation, so competition wouldn't be affected by genetic eveness."
    Got em.
    This is a non issue.

    2034
A Chinese Olympian lines up at the 100m final. The record of 8.5 seconds has been unbroken for the past 4 years. Ready. Set. He's lightning fast. Genetically engineered mitochondria and tendons give him speed unlike any human whose ever lived. 5.5 seconds. The record is shattered.

Some have good genes while others have bad genes. Why can't those with bad genes join?
Even if they tried harder than any Olympic athlete they can not compete because of genes.
I think it's great because maybe we can gene manipulate people healthy, help people with extreme obesity to burn more fat and build more muscles and live a more healthier, happier life.

extreme obesity is a choice though, only thing that has to do with genes is having to buy bigger jeans

I think it's absolutely fair, on one hand, someone had the universe on his side and was born with amazing genes and on another hand, someone will have science on his side and get himself even better genes.

Biles cheated whether she admits it or not. ADD meds 100 percent work in boxing as a reaction time improver. it makes the difference between hitting / not getting hit. So in gymnastics there is surely some benefits with reactions and coordination, especially as the event moves along, it keeps you wired, energized and physically alert later in the day when your competition is just exhausted.
