- Close your eyes, open your mind, and imagine a sliver of singletrack scratched across an alpine pasture framed by a cluster of snow-capped peaks. You're speeding along, cool mountain air rushing over your body, aboard a top of the range carbon frame, freehub buzzing, tyres pressing into the soft dirt, sun glinting off the golden fork tubes and brakes burnished a rainbow of shades from relentless use. When we came up with the idea of taking the ultimate bikes in search of the ultimate trails (yeah, it's a tough job, but someone's got to do it), this is exactly what we imagined. And during four days riding in the Swiss Valais region, aboard three carbon superbikes, those dreams became reality.

I live in Zermatt and is pure bliss to be able to teach my kids to ride in this Mecca!
Switzerland is great for hiking, not biking. Most of the trails are just hiking trails opened for biking, obviously very different activities. They don't get close to dedicated bike trails like the ones in Finale Ligure for example.
@@Shaun-fj7rx Even pro-riders like Jesse Melamed are pissed off on those trails in Zermatt. Watch "EWS Zermatt Stage 5 Practice" timestamp 0:40: "This guys are insane. I don't think they understand the mechanics of bike racing". Obviously he refers to those stupid sharp rocks across the trail.
With trails like that it doesn't matter what bike you're on.
Thats if the bike works lol. I broke mine so bad its not worth fixing so probably no riding for over a year for me

Stunning video. I lived in Switzerland for three years but it was in my skateboarding days before I even considered the idea of riding a bike for fun. Man do I wish I was back there now.

Thanks! Actually the link in the description to the Valais/Wallis tourist board has descriptions and maps and GPS downloads for all the rides we did. It really is a great resource. Favourite trail had to be the ridge into Visperterminen - that was stunning to ride and look at. 👌

But yes ofcourse I can’t deny only Switzerland cyclists yes they are the snatchers of snap and videos of sum heart pounded cycling your heart will beep when they starts of 🌹🙏❤️that is why I respect them and ofcourse its perceptions which varies from persons to persons somewhere else yours can be best but mine the world’s leading and dangerous and highly potential ❤️🌹🙏

@@chadrides914 I ride these trails every week. Because of riders that ride them like if they were riding a bike park, the coexistence between hikers and bikers it's getting worse. If you skid you create a rut, if it rains that rut turns into a draining channel and gets bigger. If the trails turn into ruts, hikers get pissed and the trails get closed to bikers. It's something that is actually happening in wallis. Learn how to endo turn, you will be fine. Face palm to you (and if you volunteer to come fix the trails, you are more than welcome).

Wow it looks a great place to ride but the only thing that ruined the video is putting price tags on those bikes there was no need to do that and there is better enduro bikes out there sorry

Full suspension carbon bikes with carbon wheels are well over $10k, so these prices are moderate by comparison.
Most Fox forks retail for a thousand bucks, some $2k. That's insane! But that's the reality of the world of bicycling.
Be glad you don't race cars ($50k engine rebuild...) or worse, fly airplanes!
