Good discussion is missing a huge piece. The equity. Equity holders will drive the outcome of the escrow. And what will that does to the equity price? The Escrow is a key asset of the Ripple company. There seems to be a reason a smart quasi-insider like Jake didn't raise that question. Whoever wants the escrow will have to answer to shareholders/Board of Directors not just on price of shares they will buy the company for but the format for distribution of XRP. So much more to think about...but I think the IMF is most likely of the three.
Always a very grounded perspective Jake. I think that Ripple will create a “shared interest escrow” with multiple parties. I suspect will be a combination of the U.S. Fed with the IMF. Clearing houses like the BIS working with JPM and other international banks have this under consideration to be sure.

One thing to point out is that the IMF is a consortium of various global powers. The major criticism of IMF is how the voting power is distributed. For instance, BRICS nations collectively only amount to 14.2% of the voting power, whereas the US holds 16.5%. You can see why this is a problem; BRICS nations see it as disproportionate to Westernized nations like the US. The DOW could happen or they could reevaluate XRP at a much higher price and back it based on assets and give voting rights based on that. I guess we will have to see.
Nope. IMF is not taking over XRP. Not going to happen. All they need is the XRPL and XRP is automatically used. The whole point of this is so that one government or government body does not have control over the financial system.
This is the reason why XRP price isn't high -- there's a ton of it. Price = Supply + Demand. If there is less supply there will be higher demand thus you have a higher price, which is why Bitcoin only has 21 Million Bitcoins and there will only ever be that much.
XRP is deflationary.. it gets burned overtime every transaction. Might be a lot now but once adoption kicks in and more transactions, more XRP will be burned. Time will come that there won't be enough xrp to handle the financial system. Thus, very high prices..

For example, if an institution was transferring 100 million through the XRP blockchain, it would be more efficient if each XRP cost was much higher (10k +) versus ($5).
