I am thinking about getting diesel AMT but until no one has yet reviewed on it.. request to please bring review about it as well, I want to get that ease for my dad who drives in harsh traffic everyday for 50kms and diesel with good fuel economy is good for me.. I know tgdi with torque converter is better but the fuel economy I believe if driven hard or extreme traffic conditions it won't give an fuel avg of more than 9 or 10 as that tgdi motor is sourced from Thar.. so we can't expect better fuel economy.. to be honest I am a great fan of Mahindra engines those are aimed for performance and that's what I like. Amt has that lag but that's OK for me.. my dad just wants that ease of driving without compromising on power + fuel efficiency
You will have more torque and fuel economy than the petrol engine but only down side will be the gear shifts will no be as fast/smooth as torque converter.. altough i had previously taken the test drive of previous generation of xuv3oo just few months back with diesel automatic.. there is a lag little bit but to be honest it really is a good gearbox if you are someone who drives light footed, this gearbox is not for enthusiasts or for drag races, but overall is a good combo diesel with auto gears + fuel economy.. i am a enthusiasts driver and my dad mostly drives light footed and his daily rout has the harsh traffic bumper to bumper traffic so there diesel with good pickup is enough for daily drive as well as out on highways you can take manual control that can add little bit of fun. One thing need to keep in mind is that the previous generation had auto creep function that means if you release breaks the car will auto start speeding ahead without giving and acceleration that way it maintains 8kmph. They should continuou this in 3xo if not then I am not buying this car
Turbo lag sunke mood kharab ho jata hai. Gurgaon Delhi Noida ka traffic me Turbo cars bahut problematic hain. NA engines best hain for such heavy traffic. Log samajh nahi rahe. buying turbo cars as a fashion statement. but once you will drive a car like say Honda City or Elevate in such traffic you will understand the difference.

I am also planning to buy ax5 diesel amt.can any one suggest me if it's a better decision than creative+petrol amt.which is 30k less.

Another thing is that with diesel amt you wont be getting adas features as the ax7l varient is not available with diesel amt
