1:52 5-inch talons! That's huge, and a little bit scary.
That is such an incredible bird! Thank you so much for this episode.

I was reading about a researcher who got clawed by those talons! Super scary.

They can be bigger than a grizzlie's claws but harpy eagles are surprisingly friendly to humans which sadly makes them easy targets for hunters and or poachers.

Young harpy eagles train their hunting abilities by picking off sloths. This is a massive thing to overlook.

Ahh that's really cool! We actually didn't come across that while reading about them. Would love to learn more about this if you could link me!!

Calpsotoma Up to 80% of it's diet is sloth, I believe. Amazing.

Great to know why the female is larger than the male - do they have different coloring or feathers also? Another awesome video! Thanks!

That bit about the second egg is pretty sad. I wonder if it's against the rules to swipe the second egg and become a bird master.

This eagle reminds me of the giant golden eagle from The rescuers down under. The disney movie. Idk why this bird is grey and black. That bird was white and gold. Idk I'm weird.

I can totally see it. I feel like it's the eyes. Those shots of Cody in the nest with Marahuté come to mind specifically, like when she turns her head upside down.
