    I'm a chess player from Jamaica, and I'm absolutely intrigued with backgammon, it's so interesting.... didnt think a game involving dice would be so strategic.... I'm sold on it.

    This is better then watching pros play since the errors are more amateur like. Great commentary

    SUPER video. lots of great stuff to learn from a pro analyzing a beginners mistakes instead of just the high level expert stuff. we all make rookie mistakes every now and then and its great to "go back to the basics" and remind us the basic theory and understanding and its also helpful as most pros would never get into some of these positions so it lets us see how to handle odd positions which we may see in a peer-peer tournament in your local BG club where you play beginners to advanced players in one night. great stuff. PLEASE keep these going. amazing content and app/website

    Thank you for this! I do have a (maybe interesting) question:
    I love the Backgammon Galaxy, is there a possibility making a "pro-mode" or "tournament-mode" or something...? I do feel a huge difference playing on a board were nobody helps you counting pip´s and you have to do it yourself like in tournaments. I´m really excited hearing your opinion about this and want to thank you in advance for your answer!
    Kind Regards from Austria and thank you for your hard work,
    Christian

    I love the analysis like this keep up the good work it’s helping me understand terminology and mind frame in certain situations with what you should be thinking about. What are the keyboard commands when reviewing in analysis? Also when do you reckon the blunder database will be ready?
    Also have a few criticisms about the site
    1. There should be help button that shows you how to use the board, keyboard shortcuts etc. I was playing against my father in another country and it took ten minutes of game time explaining it to him how to move just from what I’ve found out by playing myself.
    2. Sometimes it’s hard to click on the checker you have to click the column the checker is in, think the interface could do with a little tlc on user interface.
    3. What I’m really hoping for is when you make an error or blunder that the analysis has a little “?” That explains why that move is better what were gaining and should be thinking about, I’m hoping this will be in the blunder database but if not

    I was looking hard at TURN 4, the double 4 of Saxman, how effective would 24/20 13/9 9/5 then 5/1 have been? Even if it gave an open blot, onto WHITES 1 point, as that was then 3 of the opponents checkers now on the Bar. I am intrigued to learn if that would be a good move, or not.

  • @atlangonozal7925

    19:23 I do not really understand, why the distribution of Saxman is better then the one of Big C. Doesn´t it give more flexibility to race the checkers home when the checkers are more spread out in the back board? Saxman could bring home every roll from 6 to 3, but Big C could bring home every roll, from 6 to 1. What am I missing here?

    Can you go back through a match using more than 1ply analysis if your rating is low?

    • @mackenzieusher8025
      @mackenzieusher8025 4 года назад +1

      I don't believe so. If you have eXtreme Gammon, I would recommend simply downloading your match file directly from the site. You will be able to determine a much more accurate PR for both players this way, and the analysis tools are far greater. Don't get me wrong, the site is great! But that is what I do to get more out of my matches.

    • @sjsphotog

      @@mackenzieusher8025 you can do that? how do you download the match file? this is why we need a video explaining the site. I just started on BG Galaxy and never saw a tutorial on how to use it so.....i usually d/l my matches when I play at FIBS or Safe Harbor but if I can also do that on BG Galaxy that would be great.

    • @tuerasmussen1821
      @tuerasmussen1821 5 лет назад +4

      Duplication is a tactical concept. When you have to leave single blots on the board that your opponent can hit, you can minimize the number of rolls that he or she can hit with by duplicating. This simply means that you position your own checkers so that the opponent needs the same number to hit either checker.

      @@wyattcav25 you could also duplicate a number to hit and a number to cover, like if your opponent needs a 3 to hit and a 3 to cover his 5pt.

    I come from other strategy games, and just got into backgammon recently, due to a friend (who I hate, of course, now), you're kinda bitchy about the player who authored the play you "comment", that's not cool :p attack the play, not the player :) But it's cool to ear your comments, always had been the best way to learn how a new system work imho, and you're understandable even by a newbie who still need to count haha (not sure it's a joke in this game/field, but it should) even some term totally new for me got clear after few usages in this commentary, love !
