One of my first sleds was the Yamaha 700 SRX what a rocket 120miles plus and nothin would touch it wicked fun to race on tight trails and the power valves on those sleds were one of a kind
hi by Depends on how you ride. No Yamaha is better than a Polaris Pro-RMK 850 offtrail, and so you will have a hard time finding anything better than a Yamaha RS Vector badboy on trail.
Miss my old 1980 srx. Won many poker rally’s. On the lakes I would say bye bye. No cat/Polaris stood a chance. In the tight areas, the small sled was excellent. The advantage for Polaris, AC, doo was in suspension. But I was fearless, and whiskey throttled everything. Nice sled.
I miss my '81 Cat, eltigre 6000 just like you miss your 80 srx. Those were such amazing sleds. I had '81 and '84 6000, my brothers also owned that same sleds and there was nothing at the time or the many years later that would compare. Cat owned the title for fastest for a long time. We rode with everything.... raced everything. Good old days. The SRX 440 was a great sled and very fun to ride! And fast as well!
I had a 99 Srx and a 01. Best handling sled ever on flat groomed trails. Great to see them bring back the name! Totally shocked at the price of new sleds!
Man the srx looks good. I've been on yamaha for years. My first sled was the blue srx triple and I loved the machine. Unfortunately the hefty price tag for the new srx just completely turns me off from buying it :(
Great Video!! Very well done guys...… Finally a video comparison of the two most amazing sleds ever offered in the biz. Everyone who is a Snowmobiler needs to experience one of these beasts..... lots of minds would be changed...... I'll take a T-cat please.
Richard H ya I have a mint condition 99 srx700 and amazingly it can beat my friends 2016 skidoo 800. Funny thing is he said the skidoo Mxz 600 sdi 2007 that I bought before all this would give my srx700 a run for the money.. 🤔 ya not so much.😂 I like both sleds but for different reasons.
Love your videos! Only thing I will suggest is stop using the same picture for every video. I try to keep track of episode numbers but sometimes I don’t remember what number I’m on! Keep up the great work👍🏻 come out to Tug Hill NY for a travel segment
I have a pile of BRP and Polaris 850 graphics stuck to the seat on my Thunder Cat! Anyone that is missing them is more than welcome to have them back, give me a call!
What are you talking about? They are the exact same...Other than one is blue and white with low windshield and one is black and green with a high windshield. Either way, they both have an Arctic Cat body.
With the cost of these things there really isnt a "everyone else" scenario. These new sleds have turned a "everybody has one" to a " your riding alone" situation. Cant afford $20,000 sleds anymore. My 06 apex will have to do.
I agree the price turns me off from getting a new machine. My 2011 nytro rtx will have to do for a long time. Luckily I love almost everything about that sled
Now this is endless power. And all u young guys this is sick looking. Endless power u want more just pust the throttle. Very very nice looking. And stick with the blue on white.
According to the 2020 NY shootout, the TCat wins in all performance categories in stock for stock and dealer prep. TCat had fastest overall speed, fastest 1000 ft speed & best time, best launch. This could have a lot to do with clutching.
Wish they would bring back the old but newer version of the old 700 triple- triple. Show the other 2 stroke junkies yammie had one of the best 2 stroke ever made. Trust me I have one. I also have a bad ass 1049 turbo with a Hurricane turbo with power commander clutched so on I would not run from this sled with there little 1 in lugs. Think I cant boost at 70 80 mph until it scares you I can. I can jump from 50 mph to 90 in a blind I can. Like to see yammie make a fast little trail rock.
i've never felt brake fade on a sled...going into a corner you tap the brakes like abs. point and shoot for next corner. bang bang tap tap the brakes scrubbing off speed just enough to keep a corner like a indy car. I've never had them fade driving like that in 30 years. Or replaced pads in over 20 thousands miles on one sled.
I have a 2009 nytro XTX. I have the star suspension in the rear all my shocks revalved, high gear triple rate Springs in the front beefy spring out back. Slim jim Dooly carbides on the front, Mountain Tech a arms. This sled rails, I have video of it sucking up 850 skidoos on the trail. If anybody is up in Maine and want to try me let me know. . Ps I also have the Schmitt Brothers two stage clutch kit. The OTF steering relocate. And I have a mbrp trail can . 😂😭😂😭😜😜
Too bad these big 4 strokes are boring to ride. I’ll have to maybe try this one but if it’s anything like an apex I can’t do it. Other than the apex being about as fast as an 800 twin it was no fun to ride, didn’t sound good. Just had no soul. If this just feels like an apex on steroids gonna get boring pretty fast. The power should be nice but a sled needs more than just power to be fun imo
I love practically everything that Yamaha makes except for this piece of Arctic Scrap. Have any Ski-Doo riders tried these? They are horrendous. These guys are so careful not to say anything bad about the brands that sponsor them. They basically just tell you that all of the sleds are good in their own way and don't provide any real critique across brands.
@W TF? They are not #1 in the business. They are not even #2. They hold about 15% of the market share. There's no point in having a bias towards a certain brand. If some day Arctic Cat makes a better sled than Ski-Doo or Polaris I might just go out and buy one. No Bias here.
@W TF? sorry my 2 brothers have artic cat turbo and weith around 190 pounds. 850 etec rev is very fast. I can hit 185 km hr and 0-100 maybe in 2 sec. Artic cat turbo must weight almost a 600 pounds and mine 450 pounds
So they took s shitty suspension and made it worse yet!! 10/4 It’s no secret that poo and doo have better suspension And the original 1100 turbo is still the king of the hill
The 1100 was great, but I’ve got to be honest, the 1100 doesn’t even hold a candle in performance & speed. The durability and reliability of the new TCat is better also. It’s just the truth. That doesn’t make the 1100 bad.
One of my first sleds was the Yamaha 700 SRX what a rocket 120miles plus and nothin would touch it wicked fun to race on tight trails and the power valves on those sleds were one of a kind
Man you are honestly the best snowmobile reviewer, miles better than Luke lester.
I like Luke a lot but I think you're right. Love Luke's fancy wordplay and he's a great writer, but this review gets to the point.
Super cool video about the SRX. Just ordered the 2022.
srx is a legend for anyone whos bin in sleddin for a while, anyone on a doo never wants to see or hear srx!
hi by Depends on how you ride. No Yamaha is better than a Polaris Pro-RMK 850 offtrail, and so you will have a hard time finding anything better than a Yamaha RS Vector badboy on trail.
I would agree, My Polaris 1991 Indy trail 500 Seems like it would be more fun than a Yamaha
@Tony Montana Polaris is the real deal! 👍
@Tony Montana No no no, POLARIS!! 💪💪💪💓
Tony Montana What model and year? 1999 XLT? 😂

id ride either one of these bad boys!!! considering um 55 years old riding a 98 SRX. and yes even the newer sleds are still scared of it.
I had a 99 Srx and a 01. Best handling sled ever on flat groomed trails. Great to see them bring back the name! Totally shocked at the price of new sleds!
Man the srx looks good. I've been on yamaha for years. My first sled was the blue srx triple and I loved the machine. Unfortunately the hefty price tag for the new srx just completely turns me off from buying it :(
Well done man.
Still remember the sled Ed days

Love the SRX!! Had the 2000 & 2002 This new version looks sic!!
X2 on that 👍
I Still have My trusty old 700triple -00 in the garage.
I vill never sell that One, I'am an addict of the screem out of the mprp can😂

2002 srx is one of my dream sleds. I’ve got a built 2001 vmax 700, i love triples
Great reviews nice engineering from Yamaha on that sidewinder.💪🇨🇦👍😎
why is this so much better than snowtrax?????? Love the editing and review
613 doo snow trax has and always will be pro skidoo
@@hiby9105 what??? They are pro polaris...and thats irrelevant. The srx is great as well, my comment was more towards the way the sleds are presented
well written without all the fluff and sappy fam
Love your videos! Only thing I will suggest is stop using the same picture for every video. I try to keep track of episode numbers but sometimes I don’t remember what number I’m on! Keep up the great work👍🏻 come out to Tug Hill NY for a travel segment
If these sleds are meant to fly on the lakes, then why didn't you take them on a top speed run?
He didn't say anything about flying across the lake
My dad and got a awesome deal on a package deal 2 Yamaha Exciter II 570's and my wife and I also have a Artic Cat Jag 440 and Artic Cat zlr440
@@garyburbank4559 0:55 "Fastest guy across the lake"
Absolutely love this video. Sooooo good.
I have a pile of BRP and Polaris 850 graphics stuck to the seat on my Thunder Cat! Anyone that is missing them is more than welcome to have them back, give me a call!
I’ve got a 97 vmax xtc 600 twin and it handles like no other and I love it and I’m 13
Great Review Cant go wrong either way ..
One things for sure the srx looks a whole lot better than the thunder cat
What are you talking about? They are the exact same...Other than one is blue and white with low windshield and one is black and green with a high windshield. Either way, they both have an Arctic Cat body.
Yamaha body panels look better imo, sharper lines . Yamaha # 1 , because the Cat wouldn’t be this fast without the engine .
Your wrong. Cat was always fast. They just had to be towed home. Yamaha has givin them the gift of reliability
Ernie Desjardins Not wrong ! Didn’t say Cat wasn’t fast in the past !?! This fast now because Yamaha helped them be this fast 💨
Ernie Desjardins You’re.
Jeremiah . I don’t get it . They would never be this fast , old 172hp thundercat not THIS fast .
He was correcting your spelling.... It's "you're" wrong..not "your" wrong.... You're = "you are" wrong.
Good looking sled, wish they made 2 strokes though
Both good my fav is the yamaha
Wish I had a nice sled, I've been saving up for 2 years for a nice one
With the cost of these things there really isnt a "everyone else" scenario. These new sleds have turned a "everybody has one" to a " your riding alone" situation. Cant afford $20,000 sleds anymore. My 06 apex will have to do.
I had one(SRX) ordered through the Powersurge but had to pass.
Happily riding my 2001 SRX 700 until next season.
Yup I quit for that reason after my last new sled in 06 also everyone I rode with quit to .
@@mcsbikelife3829 back in the mid 90s when u could get a sled for $6000 there were sleds everywhere up here. Now.?.... the lakes are EMPTY!!!
I agree the price turns me off from getting a new machine. My 2011 nytro rtx will have to do for a long time. Luckily I love almost everything about that sled
Bought a 19 renegade xrs, pocket change, and best sled by miles!!!

So which one is faster and what's the top speed?
According to the 2020 NY shootout, the TCat wins in all performance categories in stock for stock and dealer prep.
TCat had fastest overall speed, fastest 1000 ft speed & best time, best launch.
This could have a lot to do with clutching.
Top speed stock TCat is in excess of 130 mph.
YAMAHA LOOKS GOOD MAN WOW

imagine a large branch getting wedged in the weird dream catcher suspension front end, R.I.P
What is the name of the song @ 2:30
Great video

Where did you film this at ?

Mitchell Suhsen yes they did
Yes he did, several times

Does yours eat sliders like my XTX does?
hp and top speed ?
Power? Ok. Is it tuff? Love Yamaha.
Old school phazer
The older yamaha built chassis are really tough. The apex, nytro chassis are built like tanks
@@nate199813
They're heavy as tanks too.

SRX is fast but I'll take my 850 XRS for handling
Just FYI, the Cat and SRX are heavy as can be, but the Cat tares through the twisties in great fashion. I would imagine the SRX does too.
👍🏻
Nice Arctic cat SRX, at least it has a nice power plant, I stick with my antique SRX's, they are the real deal.
I love practically everything that Yamaha makes except for this piece of Arctic Scrap. Have any Ski-Doo riders tried these? They are horrendous. @W TF? wtf My skidoo backcountry 850 etec beat an artic cat 9000 turbo. Lighter and instant power.
@W TF? sorry my 2 brothers have artic cat turbo and weith around 190 pounds. 850 etec rev is very fast. I can hit 185 km hr and 0-100 maybe in 2 sec.
Artic cat turbo must weight almost a 600 pounds and mine 450 pounds
Also the seats look like there from 2005
It an ARCTIC CAT, if it was for Arctic cat Yamaha wouldn't have this sled which improve their sales. .
Yamaha looks better and you know it
I love the black, I disagree. To each their own.

I'll take 1 of each. Throwing my fat Apexs around is getting tiresome at my age.
I've heard that these sleds are really heavy maybe more than the apex. And they push. The apex is a great sled.
No balls to say witch one is best!
What about dependability and quality He forgot to mention there wasn’t any. Yamaha and Arctic cat are notorious for being problematic.
They are the most dependable and reliable sleds on the market. Don't troll and make stupid comments. Educate yourself first. Then speak. .
Too bad the tunnel is a paper thin peice of shit that gets all warped and destroyed from a little ice
Thunder scrap as if no way susuki the chasey is made same
I love how a sled is 15000 and they cant make in mold graphics. Junk
