Denis's thumb is very low on his palm which I think makes it more difficult for him to grip. However, this proves that he can still take a high grip on his opponent.

@@ruslan7782 I saw a great battle for hand control and height. Dennis the open top roll to bring the match back around while Dave was trying to come over the top. This was a very technical match honestly.

I guess I’m missing what’s so technical about armwrestling now that they weren’t doing “back then”. lol literally nothing about the sport has changed the last 10 years. Because there is nothing to change really other than more money being involved which is allowing guys to commit more time to training resulting in stronger athletes overall.
But technically…there is 0 difference in the sport. I’ll take an arsen liliev top roll over anyone in the sport right now. It was a thing of beauty. Now it’s just turning into a flop press marathon and running to straps to engage more power rather than technique.
@@PrimeA169 Is this why Denis started training his technique since he lost to Devon? He was all about raw power back then but lost most of it due to an injury and IS left with bad technique right now.

Yes i 100% agree...this "super high grip" is a neutral angle grip neither high knuckles nor pistol grip. Works really well for Denis because he likes that open high drag strength style

I think this was more viable when he had his size. When his strenght to endurance ratio was at it's peak, I bet no-one could actually wear him out.
