Every time I see update videos like this, it really gives me hope that this game will be given to the correct hands, and thus, the game will have the bright future it always deserved. Thanks for the transparency and incredible admoration to Free Jack revival team.
This game could easily become a frontroner for the next big Free to play game. There also huge earning potential. This game is surr to be a smash hit with proper advertising. As long as it's not given to EA or goes on the epic games store, it should be great!

Can't wait to playtest! For feedback wise I don't know if it's taken into consideration but when the placement changes on the HUD I think it would be cool if it kind of did a little jump and snap to its new place. If ykyk
What do air tricks do? Also for some advice, try making the game run on low-medium spec mode first as even on my 1,200$ laptop (Razer Blade 15) it heats it up a lot. Some oldbies might wanna get back into the game but it might be too graphically intensive.
We're adding more and more features to allow for optimization and/or more control over the effects / visuals to reduce load as required. This is a prototype effectively so it will take some further effort to get it smooth as silk.
It's difficult to sustain a team for a 2 year development timeline without a good degree of funding. We'll play it slow for now and see where it takes us before diving into any contingency plans on publication.
Have you consider releasing Freejack on Steam and letting people just use like P2P to race against each other? That way you could avoid server costs entirely.

I played freejack when I was 9-10 yrs old on a dell laptop, I'm 23 now and all I want is this to be available on consoles
The guys who made Bomb Rush Cyberfunk might be interested in this. They make these types of games. I don't know if they publish themselves though.

Would it be possible to release the game with a more modest launch if no publisher is found, and have in-game transactions fund the rest of the game?

The server costs are actually not that bad. FJ is on Steam at the moment. It's our primary platform for the time being.
