I was always under the impression that the death of a card took priority over the ability because the interaction process is 'damage gets applied -> dies y/n -> ability gets triggered if unit didn't die'. For example, if Vildkaarl were damaged by 5 it would technically pass bloodthirst 2, but the death would take priority. The best way to check this would be to go into a game with a friend, boost Sigvald, apply rupture, see what happens.

7:00 It did 7 damage. The unit died, got destroyed. That always overwrites the card's ability. If Blueboy gets Gigascorped at a power of 6, it doesn't deal 12 damage to enemy units. It just dies. This is similar.
So if you go to 40:01, you'll see a duel where there is plenty of damage to kill Sigvlad. Seltkirk comes in with 7 damage, Sigvald is at 6. Seltkirk gets wrecked. My bet is that rupture is a bug.

Obviously destroys like CC or Wrath just kills him. Buuut, Rupture is just a delayed damage...... However, Bleeding still damages Sigvald. So I think they made it like Bleeding, as a status gets an exception. Maybe you're right, and since Rupture is also a status, it just got entangled in the code. Or got forgot about since only 1 card uses it.

I feel like alot of siege decks keep pushing for that 2-0 and maybe it's the right play idk I just started playing again recently but everytime ive seen them push for it, it never works out for them
Just played against this deck seems strong I managed to pull off the win because his melusine and knut line up at 12pwr so I GIgni in R3 but he still made it closer than I thought in that round.
This sounds more like a trap than a status. Status normally only affects the unit which is holding the effect, not any other interactions (yes, im also talking about defender here)
It's not a bug. If a unit dies, it doesn't get to do its ability. I love Sigvald's new ability too, but come oooon people. Edit: That duel confuses me so much 😂
Becouse of decks like this it is quickly becoming very non-fun experience. I mean its a good deck, but when all I met are the same 3-5 decks over and over again... All becouse peple are scared to try to make their own decks. I make my own and even that if they are not the best, when I win it is more satisfying. If I just had to copy deck from internet like a dummy to win, I would rather play something different.

Rupture is a status effect, like Bleeding
Sigvald is only not affect by direct damages
But the status clearly said: Damage this unit by its base power. Base power is 7, so it should get 7 bleeding.
