@@AllenCarterNews no one had Aaron Brooks taking out DT and medaling on their card in ‘21. Ppl probably thought Gable would go for two. And that was 3 years instead of two. Jax Forrest pushed Gilman to a 1 pt match. Amit Elor wasn’t even eligible last time (I think women should get as much attention, since they held us down with 4 medals). But focusing on 57 kg, it’s very well reasonable that someone could pop up and give a serious challenge; consider Zane Richards was relatively unknown in college (I can speak on that bc I was completely a casual during his years).
@@aantoine5819 For sure. Not saying the team is set in stone. But we can probably pretty accurately project the top 4 guys at each weight right now who would have a solid chance of making 2028 team. Most expected Taylor on to win trials, but if you were thinking who could possibly dethrone him, Brooks def. would have been in the mix. Not some unknown guy completely off the radar
I mean, I know Matt Ramos beat Lee at NCAA’s, but this is not the same Spencer that we saw back then. He’s on another level. I think if those two wrestle a freestyle match, Spencer will either tech or pin Ramos. That’s my thought.
The fact high schoolers are in the conversation is crazy, and not saying they don’t deserve to be…
Would love to see a Vito and Spencer match.
I think we’re assuming a lot about Spencer and his knees to guess at 2028. I’m hopeful that he’s healthy enough in 4 years still.
Why are we talking about 2028 Olympics??? We should focus on the World Championships next year.
I think spencer has trouble making that weight in 4 years he's already huge for that weight
Lee will only get better since he still isn't even 100%
This is a bit silly, we have 4 years to go, there are guys that no one is looking at who will break out in the next 4 years
Not really. All the guys on the 2024 team you could see the path for them right after the last olympics. No one is really coming out of nowhere
@@AllenCarterNewsI think 57kg is an exception since so few can make or maintain that weight.

Yes, and who knows where Lee will be in 4 years with his knees and age etc.
Id wager a younger dude will be there to challenge him. Someone whos in hs right now
Bo Bassett?
He's way too big for 57
@@andykappes1x that's fair...

Matt Ramos has to lock in fr

Glazing at it's finest 😅

Japan
Bow Bassett, he’s gonna make it
BB is to big. He’ll be up at 65 or 74kg
I think Dayton, Vito, and Suriano are his biggest threats
