Womens Pro Surfing icon, Hawaii's Carissa Moore, went into the World Surf League El Salvador Surf City Punta Roca Pro ranked number one in the world and determined to keep that yellow jersey on her back, with another victorious performance at the warm water J-Bay: the iconic, mile long point of La Libertad.
The video captures her freesurfs leading up to the event. From the challenge of dealing with going in and out over the slippery, slimy rocks, to opening up her textbook carving combos and lip bashing on the rippable walls, Carissa shows why she is still perhaps the biggest inspiration to female surfers young and old, worldwide.

What’s up with the rocks there? They don’t look super sharp but I’ve been seeing footage of surfers gingerly walking in more so than other reefy breaks.

They are round and slippery. Easy to slip and break your ankle. Also some razor sharp barnacles. Like the one that sliced open Brisa Hennessy's foot.
