Great episode! Since so few of my friends read or typically read genres that I don't, I need to look online for ideas. I research books a few ways. Like you, I follow several Booktubers that have similar reading tastes. I use Goodreads to also "follow" other reviewers - I don't actually "friend" too many people on Goodreads. On Goodreads, when I see someone who rates a book similar to how I rated it I click on their profile, go to more, then Compare Books. This will compare my ratings to theirs and if they are similar, I'll "follow" them and there is no need for them to accept a friend request. This way, I can see all of their reviews in my feed and watch for books that might be interesting. Their reviews will also show up first when I research new book titles. Over the years, I have cultivated an excellent list of book reviewers to help me determine if I might like a book. I haven't been impressed with Goodread's system recommendations, but I've had good success by watching the people I follow.
I always have a book waiting. Since I mostly use Libby, once I start a book (or I'm about half way through), I request the next book so it's waiting for me. I read a lot of series, but I don't like reading them back-to-back so that the story lines don't blend together. So I try to change up series, authors, genres, or even pacing/intensity.

That’s such a great idea! That way you can get all the book recommendations from people who enjoy similar stuff. I’ve never even tried the compare books feature! Then again Marty was always the more consistent Goodreads user

I suggested to Stephen of fantology (also in Utah) that you guys should do an episode together. They're super nice over there as well :D
