He's so glitched that he can't control what comes out of his mouth at times (the bracketed speech), so why should he control *how* he says it? Genius! /genuine
The general voice depends on the current emotion/situation, if he goes absolutely insane generally use jerma's voice but switch at random for glitchiness purposes, if he's making a deal or trying to convince you into doing something then switch bewteen different salesman voices, and so on.
@@mariotheundyingI think it’s mostly because if you make him talk in the canon voice he sounds like the goblin from clash of clans and nobody can take that seriously
I'd say it's due to the fact Spamton is... Well this guy is glitchy as hell and you can't deny it, meaning you can't even really trust the thought that his voicelines are his actual voice and not just some heavily altered and screwed up and with version of it.
My favorite thing about Jerma's voice for Spamton is that he interprets the Hyperlink Blocked bracket texts as pained screaming and gasps, it's really amazing, but I wish with the rest of the bracket text he put on a different charisma for the line like it's a snippet of a different recording

I think I like the Showman or the Vintage voice the best. Maybe the former is something he makes himself do when he tries to sell stuff, while the latter is how he normally talks?
In honor of Gilbert Gottfried, I personally prefer Juno Song’s Spamton voice a bit more over others. The announcer voice variant is pretty accurate, but it’s not as chaotic for his character I feel.
Spamton, for me, constantly changes his tone/pitch, and whenever he does [brackets] and [[such]] i imagine it being taked from an old infomercials or famous media i am surprised its the main assumtion, since most VAs just use their own voices (albeit bitcrunched and such) my favourite/most cannon like ive seen if from the hyperlink reloaded song also, that 5-in-one deal is INSANELY good, you edit really well!
I love how spamton is basically one of the only 2 characters to have an official, even having them isolated from the plush, yet this video still had to be made
i know it's not the popular interpretation but jerma's voice is THE spamton voice for me. i absolutely love it. it's so unique and fits him perfectly. the weird goblin sounds with the bracketed text and "hyperlink blocked" being just him choking and/or grunting works great imo
I love how most of the voices are at least a teensy bit grounded in reality, and then Spamton just goes absolutely feral, foaming at the mouth, choking on nothing and all-
I was about to ask if saying that I loved all of the choices as a cobbled together incomprehensible glitchy voice for Spamton was a cop out answer or not, but then you provided the bonus voice at the end there lol but I guess out of all the (individual) choices, I think the "Gottfried" is my fave, but I still love the other ones too, and again I like Spamton having a...varied voice let's call it.
Holy [CUNGADERO] Another Character someone no one [Terms and agreements is] on is the [[BIG SHOT]] [✨NUBERT✨] like what is his [NEW voice box for your little toy]
(havent watched the full video yet but thought id share my two cents) When my friends and I played through deltarune together, we were all voice acting different characters. When it came to spamton, we ended up having my friend voice all of spamtons unbracketed lines, and i would voice all the bracketed ones. It was super funny, and it also meant that the dialogue could still flow well while switching between loads of different voice styles. I tried to sound like various infomercial clips for all the bracketed stuff but it was all instantaneous acting so it was hilarious seeing all the different tones i could come up with on short notice. 10/10 would recommend
I really like the idea that spamton is a bit of both 1 and 3. He just switches between them randomly while talking because he's a corrupted program. He's very showman when he talks to Kris, but when he says text in the [] it switches to him being more of the Gottfried and vice versa. He's very mentally unstable and constantly changing his voice around feels in character for him.
I've always found the topic of Spamton's voice really interesting given the number of different interpretations and as soon as I finished watching your Rouxls video I knew I wanted to see a breakdown like that for Spamton so I'm very glad you made this video! As with Rouxls your interpretations of the various different voices are all very good and it's impressive that you can do them all so well. For my personal experience with this topic: I've been practising my version of the 'cannon' interpretation for quite a while and as a result Spamton is one of the only characters I feel somewhat confident in my voice for, but I've always been inspired by many of the other interpretations (especially Alex Rochon's) and I never really know if what I'm doing fits as well as those interpretations do. I guess at the end of the day it's all subjective, all I know is the voice I try to do is more or less how Spamton sounds in my head so I guess it feels like it fits the character to me. I'm glad so many interpretations exist though and it's great to see how many people have benefited from giving their voices to Spamton, and from a personal standpoint it's been reassuring to see that most comments I've gotten on the times I've publicly shared my interpretation (which is pretty much once in my own lyrical adaptation of Big Shot) have been positive which inspires me to do more things with that voice and continue to pursue voice acting in general. All that is to say attempting to voice Spamton has helped me learn more about voice acting and inspired me to do more with my voice so I'm very thankful for that and it's great seeing most of the interpretations broken down in a video like this. Also unrelated to Deltarune but just want to say I really like your Ultimate Show lyrical adaptation and it inspired me to try to make my own lyrical adaptation of that song - I ended up burning out after a while but I hope to return to it someday. Really looking forwards to whatever you make next!
My favorite voice for Stanton so far is the one my older sister did once. I call it the “Smooth Salesman” voice. It’s just very low but with oscillating pitch for the regular voice like “hEy thERe bUdDY”, which contrasts with the significantly deeper&extremely monotone bracket text. It’s the most similar to the gameshow host one.
For Spamton I was doing a showman voice and purposefully moving around in my chair to make him sound erratic- changing it slightly for the replaced words
The [[5 FOR 1 SPECIL]] actually sounded the most like what you would expect Spamton to sound like if you just knew what he looked like and his backstory, but hadn’t heard him speak.
personally i find Alex Rochon's voice (TADC voice actor of caine) in particular to be spamton's voice, something about the way that he portrays the "desperate/unstable character with secrets" architype feels right to me
I always took it as a salesman that you’d hear on an “as seen on tv” product ad (though it’s been a while since I’ve seen any of those ads so that might be wrong) and then he splices different voice clips from various things when doing [this] (Aka the showman voice)
In my mind he simply sounds like a RUclips Poop. He doesn’t have a ‘set’ voice, rather it is constantly distorting and changing and filtering over itself with other overlapped voices if that makes sense. That said, if I had to pick a ‘true’ voice to represent the few key moments where Spamton genuinely seems to talk normally, it’d probably be a mix of Jerma and his canon/in-game voice clips
Spamton, to me, is a combination of all the following voices, and I think it fits extremely well IMO. Alex Rochan, Juno Songs, Jerma, all of them. Put ALL OF THEM together
Personally, my head canon voices for all of the characters are based on their text sound. So for Spamton he would normally have a higher pitched voice but with the same direction as any of these voices. But what I find other people don’t do is that I have a separate voice for Spamton NEO compared to Spamton. Since it’s based on the text sound it’s a more lower pitched and strong voice. And this time it’s speaking less like he’s trying to manipulate you into buying a car and more like he’s simply putting on an act of power. He has more of an ego with that voice.
In my opinion we never really hear spamtons real voice. we hear his attempt of recreating it but it’s always glitched because of being in contact with the guy on the phone that gave him success at a cost.
Spamton should be energetic & nasally, like he’d be voiced by Tom Kenny. Rouxls karrd to me is British & a little snooty but he can be a bit more soft spoken. He’s definitely pretentious though. Basically, spamton is spongebob but he’s making a Gottfried impression?
the funny thing about spamton's bracket text is that I didn't pick up on it being an advertisement clip so I always read it in a dry text to speech voice I assumed it was him glitching and losing any inflection
when i fist played chapter 2 i just read spamtons lines in gilbert gottfried's voice and i think it's the best (btw i literally got into this community like 50 day's ago so i never heard anyones elses voice for spamtom and it was a bit of a shock to see that the fancanon voice for spamton literally just be caine's voice ) also don't ask me why but i read seam's text's in a kraven the hunter voice
Honestly the "totally cannon voice" at 5:27 is something i could imagine being junkil's voice fitting considering hes a swapped version of jevil who takes traits from spamton
In my [HUMBLE SALESMAN'S] opinion, Spamton's voice simply [Does this sound familiar?] like [The new Transformers Bumblebee action figure!] before he gets his [SLIGHTLY USED VOICE BOXES] for [HALF OFF!] his dialogue, the [ O t h e r ] half he sounds like your [Average Joe job] door to door salesman.
I usually use the Gottfried voice with a little glitching, with the standard bracket text. The actual voice is pretty much a mix of Krusty the Clown and Yakko Warner🤷
I agree with a lot of people here that a combination of these voices really works, switching in between them. That said if I had to pick just one, 4 is a perfect mixture of the previous like you said
My headcanon is that he has one voice that's the real Spamton, but the lines in brackets [ ] are audio sampled from random commercials. His voice could be anything but he should sound like he's the host of an infomercial.
YES! Personally, on first impression, I defaulted for Voice 4. Something about him just screamed that he needed that old 30's mobster type of voice. I'm so glad to see it represented here. He just gave me the same kind of vibes that his voice would be like Popple from the Mario & Luigi RPG series
Great job of doing the voices for Spamton! Even though all of them are unique in their own way, here’s my personal ranking from best to worst! 1. The [SHOWMAN] One. I know that this is the most common out of the five, but I also feel like that the showman type of voice fits Spamton the most. The reason of why is because Spamton wants other characters to accept his (scam) deals to become a “[BIG SHOT]”, as Spamton does try to persuade them to get convinced of Spamton’s deals. In addition to that, Spamton does try to act like a cool guy on first glance (even though there’s fans who do see him as a tiny skunkly). 2. The [VINTAGE] One. This is a close second in my opinion, since that it’s a combination of the “showman” voice, the “totally canon” voice and the “Gottfried” voice, it makes a lot more sense as his voice does change from time to time, even including words in square brackets! On one (kinda) unrelated note, I know that the “vintage” voice is supposed to be a combo of the three along with sorta of how people speak back then, the name “the [VINTAGE] voice” reminds me of the Big Shot Soda commercial in 1997 (it’s a real commercial, I’m not joking). Also, it’s kinda funny that my ranking went from a popular choice, to an underrated choice. So, can we please give the “vintage” voice more appreciation? 3. The [GOTTFRIED] One. I would say nothing can go wrong with doing voice impressions of Gilbert Gottfried (he’s a great voice actor that should be remembered from time to time), but hearing the voice impression be used on Spamton is alright (I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s that there’s other voices that are better than the “Gottfried” voice). I do understand of why other people like it (as Spamton does act like a nutcase to the other characters in the second chapter of Deltarune), and I respect their opinions. Even though the “Gottfried” voice is decent to me, at least the voice does change occasionally, unlike... 4. The [JERMA985] One. When I heard that voice to the first time, I actually liked it at first while I also thought that Jerma can do a good voice of Spamton. But compared to most of the other voices, the voice is also alright while it’s slightly inferior than the “Gottfried” voice. I do get that Jerma was streaming Deltarune at the time, and it’s funny of how Jerma tries to do a voice impression for Spamton, but the voice didn’t get changed in the square brackets. If only that minor issue gets fixed, I would say that the “Gottfried” voice and the “Jerma985” voice could be in a tie, maybe have the “Jerma985” voice top over the “Gottfried” voice if I felt like it. 5. The [TOTALLY CANON] One. Out of the five voice impressions I heard, this is (surprisingly or unsurprisingly?) the worst one out of the five in my opinion. Not only that, but it’s the only one that actually made me feel uncomfortable, as the voice is oddly squeaky to me, like Spamton is trying to have his voice sound like Ralsei (despite that I’m positive that Spamton and Ralsei haven’t met before the second chapter of Deltarune, so of what I said earlier doesn’t make sense). Also, it reminds me of the Luke Correia version, but worse (sorry if it sounds harsh!). But the only good thing I can say is that I’m happy that this voice got mashed with the “Showman” voice, and the “Gottfried” voice, I guess? Edit: Sorry for the lengthy read! I just wanna say of what I think for each of the five voices being used for Spamton, that’s all!
my go to is a mist of the third and fifth. i usually say the [bracketed] text in a different voice like it was injected from some form of media (e.g. movies, videos, etc...). sometimes i even reference stuff or repeat it the same way i did before regardless of grammar.
Im surprised some dont seem to agree that the bracketed words are external audio, like.. in source text hyperlinks are surrounded by brackets, and hyperlinks lead you to external sites so.. yaknooow, though i like the jerma voice not having them
It seems like the voice you hear in Spampton's songs is kinda like a 40s radio show host kinda vibe. Y'know like "Don't touch that dial folks!" That's usually what I envision and replicate in my impressions of Spamton, as well as just an auctioneer style of speaking just bombarding you with everything he says much like I'd imagine how talking spam mail would attempt to speak to someone. That just feels the most right to me.
Also I can't imagine Spamton without some kind of high pass filter that makes him sound like he is speaking over the telephone, which also highlights his brokenness.
The “Old Man Max Headroom” video is genuinely the perfect voice for Spamton, it is creepy, glitchy yet fits the idea of a very appealing internet ad trying to grab your attention.

Alex Rochon Or Juno Songs is the best spamton voice nobody can change my mind they just so good
Alex rochon is literally the PERFECT voice for him

@@A.MNeverP.MEhh Its good but I think these two are better But that is just my opinion
Honestly, I think that factor is one of the things that makes Spamton so unique and endearing as a character.
I feel like spamtons voice would be the my pillow commercial guy with a glitchy mechanical tone
Spamton, for me, constantly changes his tone/pitch, and whenever he does [brackets] and [[such]] i imagine it being taked from an old infomercials or famous media
i am surprised its the main assumtion, since most VAs just use their own voices (albeit bitcrunched and such)
my favourite/most cannon like ive seen if from the hyperlink reloaded song
also, that 5-in-one deal is INSANELY good, you edit really well!
Hyperlink Reloaded is a good one; but I still am partial to Alex Rochen’s voice
The 5 for 1 special reminds of MOTI's Big Shot cover, where it'd rapidly switch between him and Juno Songs
It was between Juno and Tom Privite (definitely misspelled that)
Yes the [5 for 1 specail] is the best one as its a broken adds combined
@@Casual_guy12345 for 1 special is 100% the best vibes for t spamton
I love how spamton is basically one of the only 2 characters to have an official, even having them isolated from the plush, yet this video still had to be made
My go to voice is his actual voice, also known as the person singing big shot which is confirmed to be spamton because of the spamton talking plushy
i know it's not the popular interpretation but jerma's voice is THE spamton voice for me. i absolutely love it. it's so unique and fits him perfectly. the weird goblin sounds with the bracketed text and "hyperlink blocked" being just him choking and/or grunting works great imo
I love the idea of comparing (salesman) spamton to wilford warfstache, that image will be stuck in my brain now whenever I hear it LOL
I record voice clips for spamton in French for fun sometimes, depending on what he’s saying.
The canon voice from the game is voice acted by the robber from home alone and you can’t convince me otherwise.
Which one?

I feel like his voice should sound like a car salesman, but with the brackets and capitals be higher or lower depending upon the styling.
For my personal experience with this topic:
I've been practising my version of the 'cannon' interpretation for quite a while and as a result Spamton is one of the only characters I feel somewhat confident in my voice for, but I've always been inspired by many of the other interpretations (especially Alex Rochon's) and I never really know if what I'm doing fits as well as those interpretations do.
Voice 6 reminds me of Ulysses from ENA, which is how I've always imagined him sounding
Yeah when I played through chapter 2 for the first time, that was my immediate thought as well.
Like the rest of them,
Like the rest of them!
*like the rest of them.*
The [[5 FOR 1 SPECIL]] actually sounded the most like what you would expect Spamton to sound like if you just knew what he looked like and his backstory, but hadn’t heard him speak.
personally i find Alex Rochon's voice (TADC voice actor of caine) in particular to be spamton's voice, something about the way that he portrays the "desperate/unstable character with secrets" architype feels right to me
I like to think spamton has the showman voice, with a noticeable bit crushing to it.
I always took it as a salesman that you’d hear on an “as seen on tv” product ad (though it’s been a while since I’ve seen any of those ads so that might be wrong) and then he splices different voice clips from various things when doing [this]
(Aka the showman voice)
In my mind he simply sounds like a RUclips Poop. He doesn’t have a ‘set’ voice, rather it is constantly distorting and changing and filtering over itself with other overlapped voices if that makes sense.
That said, if I had to pick a ‘true’ voice to represent the few key moments where Spamton genuinely seems to talk normally, it’d probably be a mix of Jerma and his canon/in-game voice clips
“Wanna know why they call me Spamton? Because I like [SPAM]!”
Spamton, to me, is a combination of all the following voices, and I think it fits extremely well IMO. Alex Rochan, Juno Songs, Jerma, all of them. Put ALL OF THEM together
Alex Rochon and Tonotim are my favorite Spamtons tbh
They just have an unmatched energy that screams *SPAMTON G. SPAMTON*
Fun fact caines voice actor from tadc was chosen from his videos of spamton comic dubs!
the funny thing about spamton's bracket text is that I didn't pick up on it being an advertisement clip so I always read it in a dry text to speech voice
I assumed it was him glitching and losing any inflection
If you do the Jerma one with the canon brackets, that’s my headcanon.
when i fist played chapter 2 i just read spamtons lines in gilbert gottfried's voice and i think it's the best
(btw i literally got into this community like 50 day's ago so i never heard anyones elses voice for spamtom and it was a bit of a shock to see that the fancanon voice for spamton literally just be caine's voice )
also don't ask me why but i read seam's text's in a kraven the hunter voice
Honestly the "totally cannon voice" at 5:27 is something i could imagine being junkil's voice fitting considering hes a swapped version of jevil who takes traits from spamton
A channel called Juno Songs made a Big Shot with lyrics video, and the voice that he gave to Spamton Neo is the voice that is canon in my head.
I like high pitched gravelly boston tbh
In my [HUMBLE SALESMAN'S] opinion, Spamton's voice simply [Does this sound familiar?] like [The new Transformers Bumblebee action figure!] before he gets his [SLIGHTLY USED VOICE BOXES] for [HALF OFF!] his dialogue, the [ O t h e r ] half he sounds like your [Average Joe job] door to door salesman.
8:04 New York Bill cipher?
I usually use the Gottfried voice with a little glitching, with the standard bracket text. The actual voice is pretty much a mix of Krusty the Clown and Yakko Warner🤷
I agree with a lot of people here that a combination of these voices really works, switching in between them.
That said if I had to pick just one, 4 is a perfect mixture of the previous like you said
My headcanon Spamton is between the salesman and Jerma. Like someone trying to sell you something in the middle of an intense panic attack.
showman voice and vintage voice are definitely my favorites
With the mention of minecrap I think mike matei's inspector gadget impression is a valid interpretation. Probably pretty similar to canon one
video starts at 2:20
Bro thinks he's the froggit in ruins
My headcanon is that he has one voice that's the real Spamton, but the lines in brackets [ ] are audio sampled from random commercials. His voice could be anything but he should sound like he's the host of an infomercial.
It could be all of them. I like to imagine Spamton has many different voices all for different purposes (To sound dramatic, funny, like a salesman).
I just wanna say of what I think for each of the five voices being used for Spamton, that’s all!
his voice is the way he says [[big shot]] in the song: big shot
I literally picture Spamton having the voice in his themes
I honestly love the vintage voice, feels like it fits well & it sounds like bill cipher
Yes they can his voice is the voice he has in game
People just attempt to replicate it
Terriblely like me sometimes
my go to is a mist of the third and fifth. i usually say the [bracketed] text in a different voice like it was injected from some form of media (e.g. movies, videos, etc...). sometimes i even reference stuff or repeat it the same way i did before regardless of grammar.
The second voice kind of reminds me of Junkil
I think I'd go with a mix of voice one and four
Im surprised some dont seem to agree that the bracketed words are external audio, like.. in source text hyperlinks are surrounded by brackets, and hyperlinks lead you to external sites so.. yaknooow, though i like the jerma voice not having them
Honestly alex rochon is definitely the best spamton there could be in terms of giving the little sponge a voice
He kills it at voicing him
After seeing all that spamton art you put on the screen, i have realized that all spamton is wearing is that Tuxedo (i think thats a tuxedo)
Ok i wana know ho is Tom and where can i find his [Great Selman 1997] Voice
the voice in the song is the [SHOWMAN] but its pitched up. there are other voice clips in the same song to prove this
I think the one i like the most is to voice him like an advertiser? Either a radio commercial or a infomercial host
When he did the jerma voice, it sounded like he was having a stroke
It seems like the voice you hear in Spampton's songs is kinda like a 40s radio show host kinda vibe. Y'know like "Don't touch that dial folks!" That's usually what I envision and replicate in my impressions of Spamton, as well as just an auctioneer style of speaking just bombarding you with everything he says much like I'd imagine how talking spam mail would attempt to speak to someone. That just feels the most right to me.
Also I can't imagine Spamton without some kind of high pass filter that makes him sound like he is speaking over the telephone, which also highlights his brokenness.
Also just got to the vintage impression, which is similar to what I'm thinking but less over the top with the nasal sound.
I personally think he [Changes Often] his tone often, as nobody can [Think Similarily], but I [Doesn't Have Knowledge].
The “Old Man Max Headroom” video is genuinely the perfect voice for Spamton, it is creepy, glitchy yet fits the idea of a very appealing internet ad trying to grab your attention.
