Where do these Norweigens get the feeling for great blues guitar. Greats like "Kid Andersen" and "Vidar Busk" to add a few to the many musicians from this part of the world who are "self schooled" in American Blues guitar. I am thankful for their music. I cannot compare "Joe Bonnamassa" with this art style and those who remark and compare lack the knowledge and depth of this great art form. Really it takes many many years to realize this. You have to apply yourself and its obvious that Kid and Vidar have far exceeded the rule of 10,000 hours. People its no secret to become better you have to put lots of time into it. Thanks Kid!
I played music the whole summer, for paying the bills. Bad mainstream electro and rap songs people enjoy. Usually, to wash my ears away from so many horrible, terrible musics, I listen to a lot of Bach, Beethoven Symphonies, Rachmaninov Concertos, Bill Evans trio, Ella Fitzgerald songs. And I cry on it, it's liking finding back an old friend, or a missed member of my family I haven't meet for too many years. Tonight I'm crying on this Kid Anderson's guitar solo. He has exactly what most of the nowadays music misses : heart, soul, ideas, knowledge, simplicity, fun, humanity. This man is a fantastic musician. He has all my respect. I wish him the great success he deserves.
Since discovering Kid only a few weeks ago, I've become obsessed with his tone and style. I absolutely love this performance and practice to it every day. Mad love and respect from Montana.
I heard and played blues forever, but the Kid has got something the rest wish they had. world class this guy. This is the kind of playing that inspires me to keep playing. Give years more Kid
It's funny you mention Kitchener. I used bring my amps for repair at Amplifiers plus. I live in Niagara Falls and there really isn't any music scene going on here. Yo mean to tell me that kid Andersen played Kitchener, Ontario? Wow that is strange to come all this way here from California. Like I said, I know guitar playing, I done it for years and I know a great player when I see one. It's always good to hear that a lot of women love blues too.
Hi Kid. Please concider a tour in Scandinavia next time, you're over here. I haven't seen you in Denmark yet. You are the most sophisticated blues guitarist the World
I missed this show, but I saw him there in January, 2020. Great show. Always an opening act, the headliner, and then an after jam who you never know who will show up for. Thanks Cadillac Zack.
Watched it once then once again and can only say this guy is amazing. I think hey played every note on the neck even riffing that low e string! So excellent musicianship and fretboard knowledge ,but really it’s about how his music moves you, it’s goes from your ears right to your heart !!
Wow that is incredible feel and technique to get that elmore james slide sound without a slide..this guy has a profound understanding and feel for the tradition that few i have heard do...a lot who think they do ,but Kid is the real deal!!!
I'm a casual Blues fan, born in Louisiana and raised in Mississippi. Grew up loving players like BB King, Albert & Freddy King, Albert Collins, and Otis Rush. And I've heard tons of cats in between who were talented and/or well-practiced. I first learned of this cat just yesterday on NPR radio and for whatever reason, all I hear is the Blues Guitar. As far as I'm concerned, he's the real deal. Why? My ears tell me so. Two things you can't really practice are heart and authenticity. SRV had both, and so does this fellow.
There's just no end to the great blues players out there! Greg Koch, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, Guy King, & now Kid Anderson! The blues is here to stay!!! Wooooo!
love Bill Stuve back there holding it down on bass. I saw him many times with Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers when he played upright bass. One of the all time greats.
This is a terrific performance by Kid and his band. The bass and drums really drive the song but Kid’s playing is just so skillful and soulful. Otis Rush himself would have been on the edge of his seat.
Hi Lynda, I'm not sure who you are but your taste alone in music is so bang on It's frightening. I have followed Kid Andersen for a long and this young guy has got it. He can imitate any blues player under the face of the sun so exquisitely and such perfection. He defy anybody to show me someone who can even hold a candle to this guy. I'm so so burned out on watching everybody and his brother that come on friggin RUclips and just noodle around playing insipid blues riffs. That kind of playing proves nothing. This is the guy to watch. If you can't do a video of this calibre, don't even bother coming on RUclips. And to boot, this guy is from Norway. This guy can outplay everybody in the US. Take Bonamassa for example , excellent guitar playing, but the nerdy pretentious comments that are made sometimes are a bit much. Same as John Mayer, great player but this guy just thinks he's the cat's meow. Being humble means a lot. This guy here is so completely humble It's unreal. But Lynda, your taste in music is superb.
one day clapton richards guy etc are going to find out about kid. hes going to be a legend. hes undeniably the baddest thing to come along since stevie ray. wow!
4:44 That moment you decide to test the crowd out cos you're really jonesing for some wings and a beer 5:10 That moment you realize you could literally be playing Happy Birthday Mr President and they wouldn't notice 5:20 Ok fuck this I'm off
"Otis, can you hear me? 'Cuz I'm Rushing right down to bring you a dose of the blues, baby! Otis, can you hear me? It's Da' Kid! Yeah, it's me, man--and I'm a-fixin' to be pickin' da' blooz, baby--ya digg?" '
better than otis rush.... his tone, pauses, attacks and vibrato is pefrectly matched with the tune, world class! Freddy King added lyrics to his version, is the original instrumental version (=Otis rush)?
You must have never heard Otis Rush back in his younger years. No, I don't think Kid Anderson is better than Otis. I think Otis has forgotten more about playing Blues than Kid knows.
No doubt he's absolutely amazing, but I don't think he would consider himself better than Otis Rush. Anyway it's a matter of preference at this level. I think the original song is called "Will My Man Be Home Tonight" and was written in 1960 by Mel London for the singer Lillian Offitt. The guitar parts were provided by Earl Hooker, who made it into an instrumental he later that year recorded as "Blues in D Natural". As far as I know, it wasn't until 1970 that Otis made it into "I Wonder Why".
Only a very few people on this planet are able to play the blues guitar for 8 minutes so tastefully and inspiring. True art.

Couldn't have said it better myself

Kid, that is really beautiful.
Since discovering Kid only a few weeks ago, I've become obsessed with his tone and style. I absolutely love this performance and practice to it every day. Mad love and respect from Montana.
Otis Rush
Also search Ronnie Earl Blues in D Natural
@@oldgrannywheelsYES! Ronnie lights up this tune as well. But I’m so impressed with Kid’s playing here.
one of the best players around , by a mile. Why this guy doesn't get as much airplay as other blues players is beyond me.
I heard and played blues forever, but the Kid has got something the rest wish they had. world class this guy. This is the kind of playing that inspires me to keep playing. Give years more Kid

He is in a class all by himself, beautiful expression of himself, he tells his story so well. great tone from fingers to fret board!.
Telling your OWN story in the age old language of the blues is the best any one of us can hope for. That and a shitpile of cash.
Hi Kid. Please concider a tour in Scandinavia next time, you're over here. I haven't seen you in Denmark yet. You are the most sophisticated blues guitarist the World
The Kid is a breath of fresh air for the Blues. Yay Kid!
I missed this show, but I saw him there in January, 2020. Great show. Always an opening act, the headliner, and then an after jam who you never know who will show up for. Thanks Cadillac Zack.
Such a great number Kid Andersen has it all, intensity, feeling and down to Earth quality !

Fanstastic!!! My son jammed with him in Brazil. Great!!!
Raffo, maestro, queremos oirte tocar este tema, sería un lujo!!
Kid is the best on the planet right now in my oppinion.. nice guy to, had the fortune of seeing him live and talked to him before the show.

We are all so lucky to be here and listening to that. Amazing
Awesome playing and that TONE........
Nice Otis Rush playing, very tasteful, soulful playing. Otis, must be smiling down on you Kid.
robert nighthawk and also
All great musicians - I have really, really enjoyed Bill Stuve's bass playing on this song.
Love that> Playing slide without a slide. Fantastic.
Wow that is incredible feel and technique to get that elmore james slide sound without a slide..this guy has a profound understanding and feel for the tradition that few i have heard do...a lot who think they do ,but Kid is the real deal!!!
Fantastic!!!♥️🎵🎸👏👍

Man that was tremendous. Thanks.

He is the best I have ever heard .

I hear Otis Rush and soooo many tasteful melodic lines of the Greats ...Earl Hooker ...Freddie King. BB. Albert...
how the hack does this guitar stay in tune? phenomenal.. the guitar and the playing ;-)
Great tone & playing!!!
I keep coming back to this for inspiration, its all gravy. But the lick from 2:43 to 2:47 is plucked from blues heaven its self...!

Finally someone that sets the record straight, goodness where have you been?
Got a real nice Freddie King feel about his playing.

Fantastic player!
Great playing and great feel, shades of Earl Hooker
A great Otis Rush number and the Kid play`s it as good as Otis ever did, Kid Andersen has the touch of the late great Paul Kossoff.
Wow! Now that is some guitar playing!
Authenticity right there
He is just fantastic. Add something new to blues.
Love it !!!
love Bill Stuve back there holding it down on bass. I saw him many times with Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers when he played upright bass. One of the all time greats.
Wow! This man has it!
THAT'S GOOD BLUES GUITAR PLAYING
Excellent.
This is a terrific performance by Kid and his band. The bass and drums really drive the song but Kid’s playing is just so skillful and soulful. Otis Rush himself would have been on the edge of his seat.

Beautifull and true
Just the TOP !!!
dam that is some tasteful playing right there ...
Loved this style when Stevie did it but I think I just found my new favorite blues player for this style. “He even made it sound like a slide guitar”

Man I love the faux-Elmore James part at the end.
How did I never hear of the guy.... geeze
I found him today. His 2020 lockdown special... I have spent the last 5 years of my life not knowing about him - how is that possible?
You shot this on a handheld iPhone? Amazing, it's great quality audio and video. Many thanks for your efforts.
Go Kid !!!!
God dam hes got soul
he plays slide licks Robert nighthawk style, without a slide, is amazing

Bill Stuve has shrunk. Haha.
