Well, it is a sidelined engine (unfortunately). And i fully get Dahm. I mean, my car porn engine, the BRM v16, they rebuilt one...the prices involved were astronomical. It's been almost 3 years now, they still haven't revved the engine up to the orgasmic sounds it can produce, because the engine is uber rare and need it to fully rebed before giving it the beans (plus the car is one off too). I hope, i get to hear that beast roar to peak, before i die. In the testing phase, they manged to get 485 bhp, at 8000rpm. The engine has another 6000 to go and they weren't even pushing it to the top range where it makes insanity happen. In short, it doesn't matter what it costs. You're insane, you know it, your dealer knows it, everyone knows it, fuck dat wallet.
I just found pictures of this car back when Tommy owned it...we both use to go to JPR...actually the massive vented hood started off as my stock before I traded him for a carbon fiber one...fun times! Glad to see it’s back running.
I admit, I am coming at this as someone trained as an aircraft mechanic, where reliability is King, but I would *not* reuse any rotors with damage on them. Find someone with a water cutter and slice those into 2mm thick wafers, give them to fans.

Also, you people are so impatient and don’t understand the difficulty and time it takes to not only build a custum engine and a custom rotary engine at that, but also a custom car, literally custom, from the ground up new chassis. I've had a 1st gen rx7 when I was 16 and sadly sold it when I was 20, because I didn't know how to work on it. Labor for rotor engines are off the chain!! And I've been con-ed many times because I wanted my baby running at her best. Now I'm not in the car scene because.... life. But now that I found your content, I'm so desperate to buy back my 1st gen because I know who has it and it's not in that bad condition to be honest but with your content and knowledge, I think I'll be able to do. What I'm really trying to say is. Thank you Rob. It's kinda weird to say " I love you" but man I fucking love you. Keep doing what you're doing with the 4 rotor, its dahm amazing! Prove them wrong. You should use Rx8 rotors! They have the highest compression and will make the most power! My friend Nate Rist is building a carbbed 13b with balanced rx8 rotors!

I say work with what you got, salvage whatever you can but play it smart like you’ve done with your recent builds...take your time but keep us informed with these awesome videos. There are just so so so so SO many reasons to not be doing work with rotary engines from an engineering standpoint. However....I LOVE how Rob just says "nah" and does it anyways!
Great to see forward progress on the 3 rotor! If you can get the irons sorted for a decent price, then just get some good used rotors to replace those beat up ones. They are dirt cheap compared to housings and running compromised rotors is just asking to wipe out what you may salvage from your used housing collection.
Rob you can convert any T56 from H-pattern to sequential with a adapter from S1 sequential conversions. Check it out it would be sick on the 3 rotor I think. I'm sure you'd enjoy the benefits of the sequential without the $10k pricetag on a normal sequential

That place is starting to look clean and half way decent. You can always put floorboard on top of the bathroom and put shelves up there for extra storage space like tires etc.
In the Puerto Rican Community there two thoughts to this problem replace what broken send it or replace everything with brand new parts.. Rob the reason that your name is going to be mentioned with great ones it's by breaking and destroying and rebuilding.. case in point I had a motor put together from a whole bunch of other Motors it was the best motor that ever had not one single brand new part only the gaskets were brand new.. you have everything that you need to succeed you have backup you have tools you making the time and you have a shop.. what I have to come to love from you this your willingness to grow and to learn I don't hold you accountable for any mistakes that you do I'm learning with you...all the best rotary rod mr. 2 and 3 and 4 rotor
What about getting a billet fatty iron? Using 12mm studs will also help reduce the stresses on that pin joint. If you think of the engine setup as just seven flat plates stacked on each other, then loosely rubber banned together then two pins in each corner you can see how flexible that setup really is. Using studs will certainly help prevent that issue. For the rotor and housing you can try and weld, however, I'd be skeptical of welding on gray cast iron, but Lincoln electric has some good advice that may help out.
Has Rob listened to the guy who says he's solved the rotary problems? ....says the spark plug hole allows leakage that reduces compression or something like that.
