She says that most of her composed songs are not personal as such, universal in application I think. Her skill as a story teller is beyond extraordinary. We are very lucky the technology exists in this time and space that transcendence is available, breaking down the barriers between performer and audiences and provides, between strangers a very safe environment. --- Pretty Cool!, Thanks Aurora.

What captivates me while listening...especially watching AURORA is the honesty of her music.
Of course I am in awe of her vocal ability, her style of performing the song, and in many cases the instrumentation she chooses to use.
But for me personally, the depth and honesty of her poetry is unmatched these days.
I'm 53. I love me some Neil Young, Pink Floyd... and sometimes I don't care for or am not blown away by the sings structure or overall sound...but am truly drawn into the song...for the thousandth time as AURORA said....simply because of the depth and beauty of the poetry in the lyrics.. .. ..
Writing these early so gs at such a young age, I can only imagine what topics and how she puts those into poetry she will take on as a woman who found love, seen humanity at both its best and worst, seen injustice and harm, or even when she starts to write more about her personal experiences.
They say with age comes wisdom. She was a very wise and insightful child, so I can only assume, if the adage is true...as she ages, her ability to move me by her words alone, and the message in those words, will also grow.
Here's looking forward to AURORA in 2030 moving me with a song yet unwritten.

Lee, thank you for your heartfelt reaction to one of my favorite songs written and performed by Aurora. I just realized that this is a 'circular' song. It opens with Aurora's soft vocal and then the organ drone. It goes through the person's experiences of the two verses with hope in the two choruses ... next, the bridge with its indeterminate future ... then, the 'triumphant' final chorus with the full male choir and high trills on the organ. Finally, at the close, Aurora again sings softly with a faint organ drone underneath. To me, this symbolizes that even with a 'breakthrough' in your personal gloom, there is still the ominous possibility of sinking again into the darkness. What an extraordinary work of art.

Ohhhh man you get to this masterpice at last.. 😉 so delightful. My favourite of all time. You say something about your love to fast guitar and screaming..... I am a rockbear and metalhead... and for me that's why i love this so much because of the fragile but in the same time fearless. The pureness which is very important also in heavy music is there. I could go on forever to mention the similarities but i ended there. Thank you and Great reaction to this sing.

This is so incredible, I've seen this video so many times, as a matter of fact, there have been several reactions to this version of this same song in the last few days, and the feeling is just like the first time, four years ago....she has some kind of strong power over our bio chemestry........man........the goosebumps!!!........this song is so powerful and moving.....I'm sure I'm not alone in these sensations. She is pure Love and Magic

I agree with your interpretation about suicide. I think "before I make the offering" is referring to suicide. Not sure what else she would mean by offering. I believe she is basically saying she saw the light as in she's remembering all the faces of the people that love her and "Not anybody knows that I'm lucky to be alive" is also referring to that. I'm with you on that interpretation. I suppose it means different things to different people, but that's how I read it.....As for Aurora, I hope that you will react to more songs you haven't heard yet. Glad you've done many from this concert. It is such a breathtaking concert. She is truly a unique individual. Love her music.

I take the song as much as you said. I will add that the dark journey is taken alone, without letting one else know. That you walked that journey by yourself and those around you were not aware. There is a reference to self harming from all “the places I have been”. Remembering those who truly love you let’s you see the light.
As mentioned by another commenter this is an anti suicide song. An anthem to those that survived the journey, hope for those on it and a warning for those that may be on the verge of taking it. That is my take on this song and as a 51 year old this song has left a deep impression on me. It is my personal anthem.

It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember.

It is astonishing that an individual can be so magnetically charismatic and talented. As for the meaning of this song, I think it is certainly about surviving difficulties but not to the extent of contemplating suicide. I think "The River" is the natural extension of this song.

Aurora wrote this song she was 9!
For me a clear anti-suicide song. If you are about to kill yourself, remind yourself, even if it is difficult, that there were good times and that good times will come again, because nothing is infinite... not even the darkness.
Your interpretation is my interpretation too.
The good Aurora, the limitlessly optimistic young lady, always manages to sing herself on a level with the depressed souls, in order to then call them up to her.
Furthermore, you should know that she sings almost never about herself. She sings about the suffering and joy or anger of others. Nevertheless, every song is personal to her, precisely because she is an extremely emphatic person. She always wants to help as soon as the shoe pinches. 😁
4:35 Sometimes that's enough not to pause. Nonverbal responses are the most honest and best for me anyway. 😁

If I remeber it correct Aurora talked about surviving dark thoughts and hard times in life. To stand up and keep walking even if it's difficult.
Personally I'm thinking about surviving suicide thoughts.

She wrote this song at the age of nine. Overcoming the contemplation of suicide. "The marks have settled on my skin, from all the different places I have been.....and I feel the light for the very first time." Your assessment was right on. Thanks.

Fantastic reaction to a masterpiece performance. You were completely spot on in your interpretation as you were listening which was really cool. It’s almost like for every song Aurora is channeling the emotions of the song when she wrote it. Glad you will be continuing with this concert! It’s one of her best, so many amazing songs to be experienced.

Well thanks for your approval on my 'ok' reaction but I'll think that I'll keep doing what I have been doing for the other 830 videos that I have done, and that's pausing minimally to Appreciate what I am watching 127 likes to 1 dislike on this video means that I'm overwhelmingly pleasing the vast majority of people who have watched this reaction 😁 if you wanted to watch it unpaused, then you should go and watch the official video and not a reactor?? 🤷
