- Hell Let Loose has entered closed alpha. It has a real Squad meets world war 2 vibe. All the classic weapons we've come to expect in a ww2 shooter from bolt actions to light machine guns. The map is very large and can take alot of time to traverse if your squad is not putting down mobile spawn points. Vehicles are not in the game yet but are planned so travel can be a bother. Not a bad experience overall , graphics are nice but need some tweaking as visibility is difficult at times. Might wanna wait for a few updates before diving into this one but i will keep you guys posted on new updates!

Just felt the need to take a break , I played it for over 5 years and it had become stale. Updates seemed to stop coming. I might make a return in the future here and check it out again but I dunno.

i'd wait for terrain 2.0 to drop this year kotton. overhauls vehicle damage with internal hit boxes, the ability to wear down heavy armor from repeated hits, disabling tanks by destroying the tracks, modifies the terrain to effect how vehicles respond, IE, tracked vehicles are faster off road than wheeled vehicles, no more motorcycle AT rambos, makes roads have a purpose as jeeps and civi trucks and bikes will be faster on the roads.

Nah RO2 best WW2 game
RO2 is objectively one of the most arcade "realistic" WWII games out there, and hated by the absolute majority of old RO:OST 41-45 veterans. They all abandoned it because it was basically a Call of Duty competitor with more weapon recoil and suppression. The level design was atrocious and the content was lacking compared to the prequel.
Hell Let Loose is far superior in practically every way, and it's only in Alpha stage.

bro, love the weapons in the vid to start. First you open with the BAR and then M1 Garand. The Garand is 8rds of 30-06 goodness and its an absolute pleasure to shoot in real life. Game looks good. Have you seen Post Scriptom? Gunna be another great WWII shooter.

Still, Red Orchestra 2 is still more realistic then this game, but it looks fun
When it comes to realistic shooters, Red Orchestra 2 is on the lowest rank. It was basically a CoD competitor and Tripwire themselves admitted it multiple times in the forums. It was never made to be a realistic game. It was just a CoD competitor with more recoil and clunky movement.
Hell Let Loose on the other hand is made to bring the greatest and most realistic WWII games out there such as Project Reality and of course Forgotten Hope 2 to the current generation of graphics. It is going to be as realistic as WWII games can go.

You can totally "reload" an M1 Garand mid clip. You can' eject the clip without dumping all the rounds

I think your two ideas are too negative. It's a loss for those who chose to hatchet, rather than an incentive for those who do not. Maybe some kind of added bonus for extracting with gear you came in with instead of punishment.
try to upload it in 1440p they will downscale it to 1080p, so less Resolution but still good :D

Of course you can reload a Garand. You can open it and just push more bullets into the clip.

Hell Let Loose has weird animations and that jumping which is waaaay unrealistic for "realistic" game.
FearRaiser, the games only been out for. 3/4 days, the devs are using the animations as place holders.

well PS got a load of free progress in development from squad and has been worked on longer. I wouldn't seriously compare them just yet.. Although i'm really pumped for both of them!

Actually yeah, you're right. Squad is based on Project Reality. Hell Let Loose is mostly based on Forgotten Hope 2 while also picking up on some of PR's mechanics.

Anyway, I think they should put down more covers in these open fields. Not fill them up with covers, but put down some random dead cows, dead horses, horse wagon, tractors, craters, wood logs etc in these fields would be good.
