Random observations: I never understood why Nightmare in Dream Land removed the whole "Meta Knight gives you the invincibility power-up" thing from Adventure. It added to his mystique and made you wonder what his real motives were, which is fitting for the character, especially in his debut. Just a weird decision to actively remove something cool from the original (and unlike the rotating Butter Building effects, doesn't seem to be forced by any kind of obvious limitations). If a musical fanfare can sound like it's trying to catch its breath, that's the Dream Land 3 invincibility music. I don't know why they completely changed it for Kirby 64 only, but that version's a banger!
The mass attack giant invincibility is terrifying. Imagine being sephiroth destroying the world after believing he cut kirby in half only for him and his 10 cut up copies to grab this big ass lollipop and clobber his ass to death. Sephiroth becomes a memory under those big red feet.
I got excited when I found that invincibility candy in the mall level in forgotten land, as I had no idea that they were going to be in the game before and I just love the song that plays for them
In the Japanese sub of the anime most of the later episodes mainly the one where bun and kirby are looking for the scarfys a slower more playful extended version is used
4:58 the metal ability is not entirely efficient since if you decide to use it against a boss as a meta knight he will be able to attack and inflict damage on kirby even with metal
Something funny I just thought of about Meta Knight giving you those candies in Adventure Do you think he just has a giant stack of candy in his ship for Kirby emergencies?
It was essentially a worse version of Stone because it hindered Kirby's mobility and as mentioned, you could still take contact damage from minibosses/bosses which made it useless against them as you effectively had no ways of causing damage without injuring yourself in the process due to it lacking true invincibility on any of its moves..
Games on the same system or from the same era usually have extremely similar invincibility themes (with exceptions like Smash Bros, Kirby 64, or the Kirby Fighters games.) An example would be Planet Robobot and Triple Deluxe.
Calling it a clone might a a little bit reductive, while it is indeed fairly inspired by 3D World & Odyssey it is still very much its own game Thats like calling all N-64 era 3D platformers a mario 64 Clone
It's actually a linear 3D platformer similar to SM3DW, but with overly-detailed graphics and cinematic camera angles. It's not open-world in the slightest.
My goodness, what are they putting in those lollipops? Highly acidic pop rocks or somethin? If we consider Kirby to be a black hole, would the lollipop be magnifying the energy he’s emitting

does Dream Land 2 not have the invincibility Candy? Also in Mass Attack it's referred to as "Big Candy" for obvious reasons, or at least the second version
Why does the N64 game's theme sound totally different from all the others? I can't hear the melody of the classic theme at all. It's different in Mass Attack too.
i think it would've been cool if Kirby characters that pick up a Starman in Smash Ultimate played the invincibility candy theme
Omg I had the same thought, that would have been so cool.
Or if you are on a Kirby map Starman is replaced with the Invincible candy
THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING!
The original Smash Bros series was also made by HAL Laboratory, by the way.
@@kelvindean they don’t care about that theme

They didn't remove that it still exist in that level from the original its just not every power up has them giving it to you
@@j.a.n.u4483 no its rock cover
@CJ no its a remix
That’s not meta knight

no he wont be noticeable later as a stain, he'll blend in
The Invincibility Candy really rocks, especially in the Forgotten Land!
Spoilers!
It even got a remix in the last battle of the story so that’s nice.
Some could even say it's.... *rock candy*
@@goddessdeedeebubblesofimag7789 wow you could be a comedian

Imagine Kirby getting the Starman, and Mario's invincibility theme mashes up with Kirby's invincibility theme.
someone should do that now. Make a mashup of the 2 invincibility themes.
That would be lit. Kinda like Bonetrousle with Megalovania beats.
The N64 version goes so hard... Am I the only one who wants to hear it make a comeback?
Yea
Forgotten land is better
Fight me
Forgo land is better
Your channel is one of the main reasons I pay attention to game evolutions, thanks for taking the time to put everything together!
If only Adeleine & Ribbon had a unique invinciblity candy theme in Star Allies (theirs would be a remake of the Kirby 64 one)...
4:10 I can't believe Kirby committed vehicular manslaughter.
kirby has commited vehicular godslaughter
Invincible Candy in Forgotten Land: LET US ROCK!
...And Make Kirby Invincible For A Short Time
2:02 I was so incredibly unprepared for that
N64 and Mass Attack with the Big Lollipop have some pretty dang interesting tracks
I'm happy to say that Forgotten Land has the best invincibility remix
Kirby is amazing, greetings from Guaranda, Ecuador.

4:58 the metal ability is not entirely efficient since if you decide to use it against a boss as a meta knight he will be able to attack and inflict damage on kirby even with metal
Any mini-boss and upper can damage metal kirby
The new guitar added in the forgotten land is amazing
nice work, kirby, well done without damage
i only noticed how good triple deluxe candy theme is, it’s really nice
as big fan of kirby i say its high quality content
Something to note is that the end sequence of forgotten land has a remix of the invincible candy theme
The star music was bussing in kirby 64 and the crystal shards
Something funny I just thought of about Meta Knight giving you those candies in Adventure
Do you think he just has a giant stack of candy in his ship for Kirby emergencies?
yes
Does metal really count as invincibility? I remember bosses still being able to damage you.
It was essentially a worse version of Stone because it hindered Kirby's mobility and as mentioned, you could still take contact damage from minibosses/bosses which made it useless against them as you effectively had no ways of causing damage without injuring yourself in the process due to it lacking true invincibility on any of its moves..

Damn Super star is a beautiful game
In dreamland they put crack in the lollipops, only way to explain this activity
can confirm
My goodness, what are they putting in those lollipops? Highly acidic pop rocks or somethin?
If we consider Kirby to be a black hole, would the lollipop be magnifying the energy he’s emitting
Who else is gonna buy kirby?
The giant kirbys in mass attack, are adorable
I think triple deluxe/robobot and Forgotten land have the best invincibility jingle
Why does the Kirby 64 invincibility music sound way different compared to the other main series Kirby games?
It was the first 3d Kirby, it's different in many ways since they were experimenting stuff
The Mass Attack big candy theme is really special
Also, you forgot Super Mario Maker (with the Kirby Mystery Mushroom costume).

Don’t if it counts. But the truck part in Forgotten Land also plays the invincible candy theme.
I think you could count it but you take damage from obstacles if you don't use turbo dash.
Were there not any invincible candies in Canvas Curse….?

Some games are missing here. Didn't they have the Invincibility Candy?
The Invincibility Candy doesn't appear in every game, but Kirby's Dream Land 2 is the only mainline Kirby Game without it.
why was rainbow curse included but not canvas curse?
Because Canvas Cursed doesn't have invincible Kirby.
