      I think a lot of people who want a black dress or whatever often, at the end of the day, just want to stand out. The "black and feathers" woman was such a good example of this, she didn't want people to see her dress, say "oh you look so beautiful," and then forget about it after they go home. And I've seen enough of these episodes on this show where these women do in fact walk out with a white dress that makes them feel like a fairy or a princess or a pornstar or whatever in a unique and memorable way. I think the consultants have done this enough that they know what they're doing. I think they also cut a lot of dialogue where they explain that "right now we're just looking for silhouettes and materials to narrow down our search". This store absolutely has a ton of black dresses in all styles, but many of them probably aren't in the bride's budget.

Originally she said she wanted a ball gown like dress with feathers added somewhere on the dress and that she wanted to stand out and be different. She never said a specific color.

    For 2nd bride, while her family and friends comments about the louder dresses were negative, i am kind of glad that she was able to realize that she was beautiful without all the pizazz. A marriage is a new chapter in your life, and a great place to start loving yourself in a new way.

      This is where the word "classy" comes in

    • @Iasami
      @Iasami 10 months ago +33

      I would totally second this sentiment! It's a new chapter, take another look at the choices you've made so far and what you could be open to trying in addition to the things you know you love. Trust the people you care about to want the best for you and be there for you when you do something outside of your normal.
      They came back to the sentiment a couple times in that segment of "the dress wearing you instead of you wearing the dress" and "you don't want the dress to outshine you" and although those things can be taken negatively, there is a positive message hidden in there as well. Finding what works for you as you are in the moment, being able to recognize and trusting the blooming of beauty from within.
      Definitely made me tear up a bit, big grin knowing that she felt beautiful for herself and not an image she was trying to project to the world.

    • @veggiesarefruits
      @veggiesarefruits 9 months ago +19

      Yes! I was gonna say, THAT'S how you give feedback to a bride (or anyone, for that matter), when trying on clothes. Talk about the PERSON, their features, their personality, and if they're not sure about a dress, you can say something like, "you have the most beautiful clavicles, and this one hides them", "this dress gives you a strange shape that you do not actually have", "you have such a gorgeous face, and this dress is distracting us from being able to see you". Her family gave excellent feedback that was all about her looking great, not a dress looking great.

    • @lillachrissay5564
      @lillachrissay5564 8 months ago +29

      I agree, she looked so good! It's not always possible to dye a dress, it all depends on the material. And ! Lot of dresses have mixed materials that need different kinds of dye in order for the colour to "take", making dying a dress very unreliable and a process of several times dying the diff materials. To be sure of the outcome they need to buy the dress (or fabrics if sewing) already the right colours. ❤

    • @randomgirlxrulz

      She sounded like she's still in middle school. Truly eccentric, unique people _don't care_ what others think. They don't feel insecure when their tastes appear outlandish, and they don't feel any loss of identity if their tastes happen to align with the mainstream. They just find what they like and say "I'm doing THAT."

      I wonder what happened to/with the dress that it was marked down so drastically.
      And I found it a little weird that randy referred to the dress as being a LITTLE over the first brides price point. I mean, her budget was 2.100 and the dress was 3.500 that is more than 50% over her original budget. It's like a thousand dollars more. Idk if it's just me or if that's like normal for weddings since they are quite expensive in general but I do think that a thousand dollars more is quite a lot. However, I do understand that Randy was just trying to find something extraordinary in her price point that would meet up to her high expectations

    • @WitchKing-Of-Angmar
      @WitchKing-Of-Angmar 11 months ago +29

      @Ravenchild-98 maybe he had a hunch, because usually brides clerks in Say yes to the dress frown at showing a bride anything above her price point, as it takes away from how her experience is if she sees something absolutely lovely for $8,000.

    08:31 - I think we could all learn from this. Its unbelievable how she shines way more without all the sparkles of the other dress, how she suddenly enhances herself and you can actually realize she's a very beautiful girl. And there's such a thing as wearing the dress instead of the dress wearing you.
    ALSO: research the kibbe body type, and you can learn how the fabric, stones, jewelry, colors, cuts and patterns can look good depending on the more specific bodytype than the "square, triangle, hourglass..." shapes.

      Idk, but it’s her day she can wear whatever she wants and look and feel good, idk what the problem is for people with skin, they see people in bikinis on the beach just fine, the only reason they’re going insane now is cause “you gotta look covered and virginal for wedding” and like.. SAYS WHO, this is their day and the guests only have the privilege of sharing her happiness being there with her, a wedding isn’t FOR others, she doesn’t owe them guests’ tastes at the expense of her own
      the dresses were gorgeous and looked good on her, but also why did no one tell her she could get the inner lining removed and that “the lining feels bulky” isn’t really a factor skdkdsjd

    • @5673hfueb
      @5673hfueb 8 months ago +1

      hell no inviting people to your wedding where obviously everyone will be looking at you and then walking down showing off everything is just disrespectful to your guests. It’s your day but I would be turned off and annoyed and probably leave. I’m very confident in my skin so it has nothing to do with envy, I just don’t like the culture of naked people walking around I find it distasteful and don’t want to be around it.

    Non-traditional is great, but you're going to a bridal salon. The vast majority of what they will have is going to be white/traditional. Maybe a bridesmaid dress if they want color. But seriously, the first bride was ANNOYING, but that "eccentric" bride was more so.
