"Imagine you go to work today and tell someone a joke. Then when you come in tomorrow they stop you and tell you the same joke and expect you to laugh". That's what yelling those lines out is like for me". Was such an awesome moment. lol

Lol he just took that from the die material where he follow the woman to her office for haggling him ha ha it's like Jerry got a joke book and recycled it for 30 years . Nothing original from him
I saw his stand up act in the 1990s and at the time he was making headlines for having a girlfriend who was 17. During the show some heckler blurted out “Seventeen year old girlfriend!” Without missing a beat, Jerry responded to the guy, “What? You have one, too?”

If you're referring to Larry David, he's *best friends* with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who is the biggest POS. Jerry is always the same and seems to be decent. He's distanced himself from Larry.
He was talking specifically about the exchange with an audience during a standup routine when he said that. He meant he felt he gave the audience more enjoyment from the laughs than he got back out of it when the laughed, and that was the key to his success.
I haven’t heard many interviews with him over the years but I can understand his need to set boundaries. He comes across more arrogant than I thought he was, but looking at the cesspool we call Hollywood, he’s one of the better ones.
He has said that people think comedians can be called, yelled, disrespected, invaded as if they should be in the mood all the time. He always tries to estabish respect between his career and the people because comedians are called clowns and people think they don't have a real job. I don't see him arrogant, he's confident and speaks his mind, which is very good.
Lol. Me too. I grew up watching the show. I'm 31 now, and still watch it. I like Jerry, and all, but he's way to narcissistic. To be honest, his comedy just isn't funny to me. He had some funny moments on the show, but had Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards not been as outstanding as they were, I don't think the show would've been anywhere near as good as it was. Plus, Wayne Knight as Newman, and Jerry Stiller as Frank Costanza. Those actors made me laugh the most.
Ye but half of those hard laughs were written by Jerry. He played the straight man to the zany sidekicks. So no his character wasn't as funny as some of the others. But that's because he wrote it that way.
@@NeilLewis77 not really. They had a team of writers. Plus, I think Larry David was the brains of the operation. Don't get me wrong, I like Jerry. But, I don't like his cocky, arrogant side. Maybe he's just getting older, and more cranky. I don't know.
Brutally honest. And of course he is in a position where he doesn't need to act a certain way so that his next lobster and wine would still be there. Some ppl like it, some ppl hates it. But the guy is genuine and authentic in these interviews. That you can't take away from him. Shrugs. (ps. someone else pointed out, he does have nice teeth, A little too good :)
Lol his viewers have done everything for him tho? He wouldn’t even be who he is if it wasn’t for them. They have also made him rich. They could all just stop watching him or supporting him & making him relevant or he would have never had anything that he does 🤷🏼♀️
@@sookie1313 The only genuine thing about Mr. Seinfeld is his profound contempt for people. However, since that famous chutzpah scene on Larry King Live, he has been trying to keep it in check. Same here. Jason is my favorite. When I was a kid in the late 90s, and early 2000s, my mom got me into Seinfeld, and my favorite back then, was of course Kramer. But once I became an adult, George became my favorite, as I appreciated his talented acting. Jerry did have SOME funny moments on the show, but not every episode. Or at least I don't believe so. He needs to tone the narcissism down. He acts like the show was ALL him. When it wasn't at ALL. Larry David was a lot of the brains behind it, and then Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards both made it hilarious every episode. I can't even watch a full stand up comedy set of Jerry's, without getting bored. I don't think I've laughed once at his stand up. He's not that good.
@cmcproductions26 I agree man. Even in the show, he's the character that never really messes up. He completely exists to deliver the punchline to other character's antics and situations
@@TheDrunkHamsterNever messes up? Lol his whole character in the show is finicky and that's why it's funny. Him being bothered by the "man hands" the lady that looked different in different lighting, the girl that wore the same dress on each of their dates lol and he's also a germaphobe that is surrounded by people that are always putting their hands in his food. Lol he's a relatable oddball just like the rest of them, but it's more subdued.
I love how a pure comedian like Jerry will always be working on a word or phrase that can get a laugh, however small. You can see that is his lifeblood and what made the show work, because it’s always the words, those tiny little compositions that make us laugh when watching Seinfeld.
Really like the interview, but holy hell... please zoom out a bit.. we get it, you got great HD cameras operating there.. We do not, however, need to see screen-size heads...
Jerry did get something from people. He got paid. People pay to see his comedy. Networks pay to syndicate his sitcom. He makes us laugh, he gets money. We're even.
bellmeisterful yeah I think he speaks the truth. If you were in his position you wouldn’t let every assailed come and touch you?!? He’s being himself! That’s very admirable
@@dustinwb3522then why are you even watching stuff about him? I mean, do you like him for some other reason, or did you just come on here to reply to people who do like him and find him funny? Lol
Jerry putting his foot down or drawing a line in the sand to let everyone know that he deserves to be a boring, normal, defensive and somewhat irritating human being…like most of us…is practical and downright deserving. Everyone deserves to be themselves and need not explain why to anyone, nor instantly change into a fictional role or character upon demand from a fan.
The genius of Seinfeld is that it wasn't until the series finale of a 9 season show that people FINALLY realised it was a dark comedy. Edit: Let me explain. Here's the true genius of Seinfeld the show. Today, we have all these really brilliant, creative, edgy, cynical, insightful comedy shows like Always Sunny, Barry, Rick and Morty, Bojack Horseman, South Park, etc. These are all shows that pushed the envelope so far that watching a show like Seinfeld today, the casual viewer would probably find it more similar to stuff like Friends or HIMYM. But there was always a very real and deeply entrenched darkness to that show and those characters, it was just very well-hidden. Seinfeld never had to have episodes involving hitmen, prostitutes, drugs, abortion, etc. in order to score 'edgelord' points. It was just a show about how pathetically and fundamentally greedy, spiteful, narcissistic, and petty people are. The fact that somehow, throughout its entire run, millions of people couldn't see that because they were so distracted by the whacky situations and catchphrases and goofy nonsense is what truly makes it unique and ahead of its time.
@@SHOTGUNStotheNOSE Well, the very first sesasons aren't that dark, and then it starts scaling almost without you noticing. Also, it is dark in a somewhat weird way, because there aren't that many dark jokes or puns, but usually the plot of the chapter itself is a whole dark joke. It's not like watching family guy and there are constant jokes about death or rape or racism, but rather a whole chapter that spirals around a darkish idea like someone accidentally killing their wife or someone throwing trash into the ocean or someone breaking up with a girl because she has "man hands". Finally, the humor is really situational, like for example they are having a debate about abortion and they aren't making any jokes or saying anything absurd, but the situation is setup in a way that makes you laugh, and you find yourself somehow laughing at abortion.
@@elmeromero3072 So he should stop saying people owe him and that we did nothing for him. Those people who watched his show ALSO watched commercials for it, it was NOT free. Jerry should be thanking all his viewers for watching the commercials which were 20% of the run time of the show.
I watched Seinfeld some years back while in depression. It got me out of depression in a few months and after watching the whole series, I googled the actors and was really surprised to see how old they looked.
Strange, Julia & Jason have aged so little, and Michael definitely doesn't look bad. Jerry's in good shape. This is just a weird comment, the show was 30 years ago
Well, it is nice that you got better. But this kind of speech of 'this show/video/movie got me out of depression' doesn't work in real life. Maybe Seinfield helped a little, but it was your decisions and help received that got you out of it.
Can't imagine how energetic Seinfeld must have been in his heydays. Being a comedian means you gotta perform so many times, come up with enough material that'll make people laugh, remembering your lines every time before a stand-up, then all the acting for the Seinfeld show...not just Seinfeld, other comedians too who've made millions too. Gotta respect the talent & work ethic of these people. One thing though: why does he shake his head so much lmao
MrEnjoyBeats he tells a story about when he first started out. he was watching some construction guys working, and thought about their work ethic and how much harder their job was compared to his of trying to be a comedian, and they go to work day after day, because its their job. so he decided if he was going to be a comedian he would have to work hard.
***** Me too:) people seem to think of him as a nice warm cuddly guy (maybe because he does not swear in his stand up), and believe larry david is the misanthropic one. they are the same, that's why Seinfeld was so good, these two are almost a perfect match.
I like that Seinfelt is so smart, if he doesn’t like the interviewer he will show it (this one good, Larry King not so much). Btw he is a genius getting the Seinfelt crew together and allowing everyone one airtime but just working diligently to make sure all parts were gold :-)
"one person controlling a room of 5,000 people and making them spin - that feels great".. i believe that was the quote that a rising politician called adolf hitler gave to the Munich gazette after his first beer hall speech in 1919.
Jerry has enough money to do whatever he wants whenever he wants. He could easily do nothing, but he continues to entertain in a sincere and intelligent way. How many of the people posting comments on RUclips can say the same? Not one. Much love and thanks to Jerry for his dedication and generosity.
The 1 milion dollars per episode figure is only true for Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards. Seinfeld was paid more than that, since he was main character, main writer, executive producer and showrunner. Every time rights for the show get negotiated, he gets at least a big cut of that too.
I hope people get the wisdom behind the delivery. He really understands people. He really understands himself. And he’s at peace with who he is, while also understanding that he’s been blessed with certain things….which came about due to talent and dedication and working on his craft. The great comedians are also some of the greatest philosophers.
I think it's the "Hi I'm in showbuiz and I've made millions of dollars of the years, therefore I'm better than you" attitude, (which I'm sure all of Hollywood have, only a few are honest about it)
allnamesaretakenb4 The ones who are grounded and appreciative aren't like you described them. But yes there are some who have lost touch with reality. Still we "normal" folks should not view these celebrities as special. They are just as human as you and me.
I would never be tempted to ask him for a picture but I kinda like how honest he is. He was a part of one of the most successful shows of all time and is worth more than 800 million. He is 3x as rich as Justin Bieber, 8x as rich as Drake, 3x as rich as Mick Jagger. The dudes life is just different than 99.9% of the people on Earth and at least he will admit it. I think it annoys me even more when celebrities try to play the 'every-man" thing when in reality they are just as spoiled as him. I don't like big egos or narcissism but I do appreciate honesty.
I've never understood fandom. I like artists, I'm impressed and inspired by great work but I've never felt the urge to put anyone else above me. Whenever I see a celebrity or publicly known person of any kind (usually on a busy street in a big city like New York or LA) my instinct is ALWAYS to leave them alone. It's their private time. I've never written a fan letter or joined a fan club and the thought is repulsive to me. Talented, rich and successful or not they're still just people. If I'm at a book signing or after a show they're receiving people I'll at most say hello, good job and shake their hand. What possible reason or need would I have to do any more than that?
+calisongbird Is that supposed to be sarcasm? I hope not. I just honestly don't see why there's any reason to bother famous people, especially on their own private personal time. Is that really all that impressive?
Giving and selling are very mxed up in the context of a laugh thogh. Also I'm sure it was just his humorous explanation on why he, understandably, took the offer of the guy pulling out with his car and not necessarily a serious description of the "powerful" feeling he had in that moment
@Nathalie Ellington i couldn't agree more. I would never give up my parking spot for a near billionaire. Let him tip a parking attendant so that guy could more easily pay his rent that month.
he probably gets 100 or more people approach him everyday for the past 25 years, that would drive me insane! You can't go anywhere. Just imagine trying to eat at a restaurant.
My friends brother was a major league pitcher at the highest level, a closer in the world series and an all star. She said he could never even go out to dinner, people who hoard around him. His career is over and his life is more normal now but for someone like Jerry it will never end. I think it would grow old.
@@tigerskob Why? He got paid to much. He can deal with being annoyed by weird people walking up to him. Like most that get annoyed by everyday things you just deal with it work family neighbors drivers that cut you off etc.
+Krushing Kithehamer but if he watched his show he watched it for free, yeah i know about ads and stuff but the guy didnt buy a TV just for seinfeld and enough people wacthed that to warrent the ideals
+danknasty661 The success of a show is measured in ratings, which really boils down to people tuning in to the show and seeing the ads. The more people tune in (particularly of a certain age), the more advertisers are willing to pay and the more Jerry gets paid - in the long run at least. If the guy watched the show, he contributed.
danknasty661 It wasn't free. Everyone's time counts. The math is simple. If this guy he talks about and everyone else used their time somewhere else instead of watching Seinfeld episodes, "Seinfeld" would not have stayed on the air and Jerry Seinfeld would not have made a fortune from his show. By being appealing to us, Jerry Seinfeld earned the right to keep our attention, and so, we gave it to him. We get to be entertained and he gets to be relevant as well as very wealthy.
Thing is, for lots of people, that show wasn't just some product you buy, use, get reasonably satisfied with your purchase and then go purchase something else. To me, it wasn't like a graphics card, a cell phone , a refrigerator or a ticket to a football game. That show to me was pure freaking magic, it gave me a whole new idea on what funny is, I took the comedy style to myself when talking to other people. I bought all the seasons in DVDs, so Jerry has some of my money, but sill, that isn't even a tiny little percentage of what the show gave to me. If I were that guy, I would also want to make a personal favor to Jerry, as just an attempt to thank him. I would do the same if I met John Cleese or Steve Harris from Iron Maiden.
Well, he is right though. Some of these comments are acting like this one guy watching the show made a huge contribution to Jerry. It didn't. Viewers as a whole? Sure. This individual? No one would notice if he never watched the show otherwise. To place it simply: Jerry, as an individual, did a lot more for that guy than that guy, as an individual, did for Jerry.
Really don’t understand how people can hate this guy, hes so relatable and effortlessly funny. Yeah okay his comedy isnt for everyone but which comedians humor is? He has earned his status and even though he can come off as pompous at least hes honest about it and not fake like 95% of celebs. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and hes only getting better with age. It isnt easy being popular, you have to please everyone which is impossible to do and Seinfeld realized that a long time ago.
What makes Jerry so funny, is that he is like that funny guy in your coffee group, or that one dude at the camping trip that can always riff on the smallest things and keep you laughing. I think people gravitate to Jerry because he’s like that best friend that is so easy to be around, you may not always talk, sometimes you’re both cranky, and sometimes you just want to laugh over coffee or lunch about stupid stuff at work.
I just love this guy. Especially his prickliness. Can't explain it but the whole package is pretty great. Not a huge fan of Seinfeld, but love his Comedians drinking coffee show.
Thank you Mr. Seinfeld. You are a great guy and you are right ... you DID do a lot for me and all of us. Just seeing your name or thinking your name makes me smile, laugh and feel happy no matter what I am doing. Thank you!
I was one of those 5000 laughing for every second he was on stage. Amazing performer I haven’t laughed that long or that hard since. Love me some Jerry Seinfeld. He immersed himself into the audience and doesn’t let you go till your rolling out and into your car! 😅😂😅👍👍❤️
But you did give him money.. just in another form. Your time that you give watching his show on the television, for which you paid a subscription. Then in return, the television paid him money to play the show. So in a way, you've paid for this entertainment. If nobody would watch his shows on TV, he wouldn't get any money.
It doesn’t matter who you are, nobody has the right to get in your space and assume they know you. It’s a matter of how you are raised and respect for everyone you meet
Being a comedian changes you. After years and years of looking into people for their annoyances you begin to naturally become rather sinical. I think compared to other comedians, Jerry has done an alright job of maintaining the guy who he was 20 years ago. I think that modem music artists now are so humble, does somehow relate to how they aren't very good, but that's something else.
In a world that generally puts me in a bad mood these days, Seinfeld the show still brings me a lot of joy. If I'm channel surfing and it's on, I'll usually give it a go. Yeah, that's worth giving up a parking spot in LA. Thanks Jerry.
he's actually one of the more 'genuine' celebrities out there, leads a fairly private life, is generous to those he has worked with. These forums seem to be filled with a lot of really jealous Jewhaters sadly. I wouldn't even say that I find his act fall on the floor funny, although I like 'older curmudgeonly' Jerry more than young Jerry, but a lot of his ideas translated really well to the show, being acted out by him and George. In general, he's quite sharp and engaging.
Prickly, grumpy or not. He is absolutely the funniest comedian I ever saw. I am such a fan. I would LOVE to meet him. And I would just tell him thanks.
I appreciate Bill Maher's humility to wait in line. He's humble and not an arrogant celeb who expects free hand outs. It's not often at all that a celeb insists on simply fitting in and blending with the crowd. I like Bill Maher.
Well, he is a bit arrogant, but that's not that odd with his stand-up and television past. What I like about him tho is that he seems very honest and sober about things, he doesn't seem to have a secret agenda or is this fake idiots who tries to be liked by the public and goofs around and laughs about everything, like many celebs and comedians.
"If you're doing it for them, you'll be fine. If you're doing it for you...at some point they'll know it. They'll feel it. And they won't like it" Entertainers listen up! Great wisdom was just shared with you.
Just goes to show people can't handle honesty. The vast majority of celebrities feel the same way Jerry does, but he actually says it, instead of giving the same boring PC soundbite all the other vapid celebs do. "Oh I don't think I'm better than anybody, I'm just a gee-shucks lovable loser who lucked his/her way into fame and fortune!" Bullshit. The first step to being an artist in any capacity is thinking you can do something better than other people and it's worth sharing with the world. The first step to being successful is to be a little full of yourself. This is why pretty much every successful person is at least a little self absorbed.
Galactic123 Well you might not believe it, but some people as much as they love being respected for what they do, they also might not like to put up with servitude behavior towards them at the same time. If a person has to interact with someone else, he or she is likely to want to minimize the distance between himself and that person, find some common ground and serving someone like that does quite the opposite. All it does is it puts pressure on you to act extra nice toward that person, and enrolls you in a conversation full of pointless niceties, when in fact you feel like you'd be better off being left alone. I kind of like the way Jerry handled the situation that was pushed onto him, he didn't come up there and say hey I'm Jerry Seinfeld can you move that car out of there?
+thriler30 It's kinda like my wife tells me when she offers to do something for me and I say "Are you sure?" - "I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want to." That's how I see it - the guy got a great story out of it, he gave Jerry Seinfeld his parking spot (and probably got a nice thank you/photo/etc. in return). Honestly, I've gotten SO much enjoyment out of rewatching Seinfeld episodes over the years, I'd probably do the same thing. I think I do owe him for all of the laughter he's given me.
His point at the end - absolutely right. At least as far as I’m concerned. Obviously some celebrities get away with being complete scumbags & their fans don’t bat an eye.
I appreciate Jerry’s honesty he is right about people just going up to you it’s funny that he has no remorse to follow his Beliefs, I like that. I respect that . Plus some people give you bad vibes I would want to touch them ..
"I did a lot for this guy..He did nothing for me" Here's the thing: The guy contributed to Seinfeld's relevance by being part of his fan base, watching his shows and paying attention to him. Without an audience there is no laughter, no lucrative contract.
Troubled Sole here's the thing. He has talent and used it to make him laugh. The other guy felt good seeing him- he paid for it because he appreciated the effort. It's a 2 way street
Not only is that fan important to him for being his audience, he may well have done other things for Seinfeld that he is unaware of. The guy could be his kid's teacher or a doctor that cured a loved one or a cop that caught a burglar in Seinfeld's neighbourhood. It is very incorrect and presumptuous of him to say the guy did nothing for him.

@@NeilLewis77 Exactly.
@@NeilLewis77 not really. They had a team of writers. Plus, I think Larry David was the brains of the operation. Don't get me wrong, I like Jerry. But, I don't like his cocky, arrogant side. Maybe he's just getting older, and more cranky. I don't know.
Whether you love or hate Jerry Seinfeld, his involvement and influence in comedy should never be understated.
i could easily live without any seinfeld-inspired comedians
When i see Jerry i will scream in his ear; HELLO JEEEEEEEEEEEEERRY!
then starting to grab his arms for no reason.
La la laaaaaa
Uncle Leo😁😀😂
”WHERE IS GEORGE!?? xD”
Then start to do the Elaine dance.
It's JERRY HELLOOOOOOOOO!!
Brutally honest. And of course he is in a position where he doesn't need to act a certain way so that his next lobster and wine would still be there. Some ppl like it, some ppl hates it. But the guy is genuine and authentic in these interviews. That you can't take away from him. Shrugs. (ps. someone else pointed out, he does have nice teeth, A little too good :)
agree, Mr Seinfeld is genuine and has very nice teeth 😊 i've always thought he has a good smile 👍
Not because he changed, but because he knows that the top spot on the list of mean celebrities may hurt his image.
It's not honesty or authenticity it's rudeness!
@@luayis7045 those are not mutually exclusive?
I always found Jason Alexander to be the funniest person on Seinfeld. And of course Larry David’s voice as Costanza’s boss. 😂
"Costanza's boss" also known to some as George Steinbrenner
@cmcproductions26 I agree man. Even in the show, he's the character that never really messes up. He completely exists to deliver the punchline to other character's antics and situations
Even in the outtakes, it's Jason that is the funny and quick-witted one.
Jerry's right Laughter is powerful and can transform an entire room. - And he does it so well. Love this guy!

Why don't you sit further away from the screen

It's like Peter Jackson is directing this.

Vrig I dissagree, I *only* watch videos that have heads encompassing the majority of the screen.
He’s so humorous just in ordinary conversation. He sees the funny in absolutely everything.
Jerry did get something from people. He got paid. People pay to see his comedy. Networks pay to syndicate his sitcom. He makes us laugh, he gets money. We're even.
very true
After frosted I feel like he owes us big time now. And the fact that he dated a 17-year-old when he was 38 and never was accountable for it
Jerry, Hello.

I really love Jerry Seinfeld, the character. The person, however, not so much.
The Seinfeld characters were never meant to be likeable people.
The hell's wrong with yall? Hes totally honest and real and yall don't like him for it.
bellmeisterful yeah I think he speaks the truth. If you were in his position you wouldn’t let every assailed come and touch you?!? He’s being himself! That’s very admirable
@gilbert martinez I don't think Louis-Dreyfus or Richards are like that. I get negative vibes from Seinfeld and Alexander however.
@@bellmeisterful Yeah, because being honest means you're an upstanding person. Great point.
Jerry is not only automaticity funny, he's honest. I love how he makes us laugh.

He's really not that funny honestly
@@dustinwb3522then why are you even watching stuff about him? I mean, do you like him for some other reason, or did you just come on here to reply to people who do like him and find him funny? Lol
Jerry putting his foot down or drawing a line in the sand to let everyone know that he deserves to be a boring, normal, defensive and somewhat irritating human being…like most of us…is practical and downright deserving. Everyone deserves to be themselves and need not explain why to anyone, nor instantly change into a fictional role or character upon demand from a fan.
I love this interview 💛
I love how honest & human Jerry is
If someone nicely gave me a parking lot, I would also gladly accept it like Jerry
The fact that somehow, throughout its entire run, millions of people couldn't see that because they were so distracted by the whacky situations and catchphrases and goofy nonsense is what truly makes it unique and ahead of its time.
never seen it. what makes it dark comedy?
Right, all the characters are jerks, but funny jerks.
Its a sitcom not dark comedy
My take on that perfect finale: Yes we loved all of them but those characters were basically jerks and so it was perfect justice.
People don't owe you anything Jerry, You got paid more than your share.
Jerry made people happy.
SO?
@@elmeromero3072 So he should stop saying people owe him and that we did nothing for him. Those people who watched his show ALSO watched commercials for it, it was NOT free. Jerry should be thanking all his viewers for watching the commercials which were 20% of the run time of the show.
@@EvoPortal Well He was joking
I'm pretty sure he was kinda joking when he said that.
I watched Seinfeld some years back while in depression. It got me out of depression in a few months and after watching the whole series, I googled the actors and was really surprised to see how old they looked.
Vishnu Kamdar yes, people age. what an amazing concept
Strange, Julia & Jason have aged so little, and Michael definitely doesn't look bad. Jerry's in good shape. This is just a weird comment, the show was 30 years ago
It is so silly to say that a tv show freed you from depression. So clearly that wasn't depression.
MrEnjoyBeats he tells a story about when he first started out. he was watching some construction guys working, and thought about their work ethic and how much harder their job was compared to his of trying to be a comedian, and they go to work day after day, because its their job. so he decided if he was going to be a comedian he would have to work hard.
percy veer That's great man, I admire the work ethic and the hustle. I actually enjoy watching the Seinfeld show as well.
Jerry is so honest... about his crankiness 🤣💛
We all get cranky let's be honest. The only thing is that when celebrities get cranky the whole world see it.
i dont care how old Jerry gets, as long as he has that same voice, Nostalgia kicks in and makes me feel good!
why does he look more like matt lauer the older he gets.
Tou Xiong because he’s a serial rapist.
+Judas Isacriot.. huh?

Yuck Matt lauer.
Jerry has just always exuded that kid in an adult body persona. He is so great.
I've always appreciated Seinfeld's misanthropy.

Ubaid Khan sport is only five letters dude!! its only one more than word!!
***** Me too:) people seem to think of him as a nice warm cuddly guy (maybe because he does not swear in his stand up), and believe larry david is the misanthropic one. they are the same, that's why Seinfeld was so good, these two are almost a perfect match.
***** Ha ha! And the older he gets, the more he turns into a crabby old jew. Which is very entertaining.

The more I hear about this Hitler guy the more I don't care for him!
@@EPlTHANY oh he was the wurst
Jerry has enough money to do whatever he wants whenever he wants. He could easily do nothing, but he continues to entertain in a sincere and intelligent way. How many of the people posting comments on RUclips can say the same? Not one. Much love and thanks to Jerry for his dedication and generosity.
Seinfeld's face after "That's pretty funny," at 1:48. Golden.
You did something for them, but you were rewarded incredibly well for it financially, (1 million dollars an episode) lets not forget that Jerry.
plus like a billion dollars from rights
The 1 milion dollars per episode figure is only true for Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards. Seinfeld was paid more than that, since he was main character, main writer, executive producer and showrunner. Every time rights for the show get negotiated, he gets at least a big cut of that too.
I like the way he thinks. If you're dealt a good hand, be fine with the bad cards that go along with it.
I hope people get the wisdom behind the delivery. He really understands people. He really understands himself. And he’s at peace with who he is, while also understanding that he’s been blessed with certain things….which came about due to talent and dedication and working on his craft. The great comedians are also some of the greatest philosophers.
There's always something refreshing about Jerry.

I love his blatant honesty! Here it is...good or bad...take it or leave it. It is what it is.
What a beautiful response to a "i feel powerful" statement 💜
I'm a fan of the show, but i would never approach this guy in a million years. This interview creeped me out.
Anyone that approaches celebrities is a loser in my eyes
I think it's the "Hi I'm in showbuiz and I've made millions of dollars of the years, therefore I'm better than you" attitude, (which I'm sure all of Hollywood have, only a few are honest about it)
+allname
Insisting that strangers don't touch you right off the bat is a superiority attitude? He's not a teddy bear.
allnamesaretakenb4 The ones who are grounded and appreciative aren't like you described them. But yes there are some who have lost touch with reality. Still we "normal" folks should not view these celebrities as special. They are just as human as you and me.
Random Thoughts I walked up to Sean Astin at Dland and shook his hand and said, “Hey man, you’re movies are great. Nice job.”
Guess I’m a loser.
Certainly right about traits that comes as a set as he seems intelligent and talented but also arrogant and condescending. Pricky for sure.
Definitely arrogant!!
Money change cheap people
I would never be tempted to ask him for a picture but I kinda like how honest he is.
Good for you. We're all impressed.
+calisongbird Is that supposed to be sarcasm? I hope not. I just honestly don't see why there's any reason to bother famous people, especially on their own private personal time. Is that really all that impressive?
@@calisongbird I’m far less impressed if you disagree. I’m with OP, when I was no longer a child I never understood famous person worship either.
Only three words can accurately sum up this guy...Genius, Genius , and Frickin' Genius.
Meeting him in person is # 1 on my Bucket List.
I love Jerry but the next time he thinks he gave something he should look at his bank book. He didn't give anything, he sold something.
Good point. But he is talking about something else.
Giving and selling are very mxed up in the context of a laugh thogh. Also I'm sure it was just his humorous explanation on why he, understandably, took the offer of the guy pulling out with his car and not necessarily a serious description of the "powerful" feeling he had in that moment
Try not to cater every bad opinion as 'joke'. Take it as it really is.
He is talking very specifically about his mindset during and after a standup performance, and the resulting exchange with the audience.
he gave us an irreplaceable once-in-a-lifetime sitcom that just keeps on giving. It's priceless.
Whatever you think of Jerry you have to admit one thing: he’s honest
I went to his concert a few years ago. Nothing more than a chuckle from the audience all night. Never liked him as much after that.
Lol thank you for saying this I saw him once and it was not funny, still like the show tho
If I saw him I’d think, “heh, that’s Seinfeld, cool.” Then I’d just keep living my life.
Love his honesty! Love his show! I would never want to approach Jerry nor give up my space for him!
Just imagine trying to eat at a restaurant.
price of fame baby, if he lived 100 lives he'd take it every time
My friends brother was a major league pitcher at the highest level, a closer in the world series and an all star. She said he could never even go out to dinner, people who hoard around him. His career is over and his life is more normal now but for someone like Jerry it will never end. I think it would grow old.
It's simple. You eat the fans.
Then he shouldn’t have went into entertainment

Ok? So? Did you come here just to brag about that lol
I've been listening to Jerry. He's the most insightful person
Seinfeld gets paid to tell his jokes .... he's getting something from the guy.
If the guy watched the show, he contributed.
danknasty661
It wasn't free.
He just answers every question honestly. It's insanely transparent. No lying.
I was fortunate enough to watch his stand up act, live, a few years ago. Jerri is, by far, the best comedian ever.
amazing! you gave a lot to us. Currently watching Seinfeld on Netflix, still the best show ever! Thanks!
I like his honesty. Absolutely adore his work and thats all that matters!
He is honest about who he really is. I can't say the same for a lot of other celebrities.
I love how honest he is.
I just love this guy. Especially his prickliness. Can't explain it but the whole package is pretty great. Not a huge fan of Seinfeld, but love his Comedians drinking coffee show.
Is Jerry one of the few comedians who can make you laugh without being political or picking someone to make fun. Which is brilliant.
Thank you Mr. Seinfeld. You are a great guy and you are right ... you DID do a lot for me and all of us. Just seeing your name or thinking your name makes me smile, laugh and feel happy no matter what I am doing. Thank you!
Who’s he kidding, he’s exactly like his character. They are as cranky as each other
I love the sense of power moment in the interview, you can tell that was for Jerry a good question.
I was one of those 5000 laughing for every second he was on stage. Amazing performer I haven’t laughed that long or that hard since. Love me some Jerry Seinfeld. He immersed himself into the audience and doesn’t let you go till your rolling out and into your car! 😅😂😅👍👍❤️
Love his honesty!
3:10 that's actually very true. Seinfeld has made me laugh for years on free network television and I've never even bought him a Pepsi.
But you did give him money.. just in another form. Your time that you give watching his show on the television, for which you paid a subscription. Then in return, the television paid him money to play the show. So in a way, you've paid for this entertainment. If nobody would watch his shows on TV, he wouldn't get any money.
This man Seinfeld is a genuine genius. Sure miss his show.
He’s great! Love his humor.
Jerry Seinfeld is so genuine.
"If you're doing it for them, you'll be fine. If you're doing it for you, that could be problematic."
@Clippy why don't you get lost already
Making people laugh is like giving them a little gift of a break from the mundane and it really is priceless.
I honestly think he just has a level of confidence that some read as arrogance because it's unlike any level of self-confidence they have ever seen.
"I know you hate everybody" 0:43 hahaha, soo true!
The king of observational humor.
This made me like him more. Never got into the show.
he's actually one of the more 'genuine' celebrities out there, leads a fairly private life, is generous to those he has worked with.
2:20 for Seinfeld moans
Nothing wrong with being confident in your own success and being able to realize what you bring to the table
Loved Jerry in the 90s and almost more so now. He's uncompromising. I admire that.
I appreciate Bill Maher's humility to wait in line. He's humble and not an arrogant celeb who expects free hand outs. It's not often at all that a celeb insists on simply fitting in and blending with the crowd. I like Bill Maher.
Very funny guy, but has Soooooooooo much narcissistic behaviour.
I mean, he was in Seinfeld...
It's meant to be funny.
Well, he is a bit arrogant, but that's not that odd with his stand-up and television past. What I like about him tho is that he seems very honest and sober about things, he doesn't seem to have a secret agenda or is this fake idiots who tries to be liked by the public and goofs around and laughs about everything, like many celebs and comedians.
a bit arrogant? A bit like a whole galaxy size arrogant
If youre calling him arrogant you are not from, and have probably never been to, New York
+SpiritMolecule1 He's a comedian! He's partially joking about that.
I think I do owe him for all of the laughter he's given me.
yes! I hate when they dishonestly play humble card.

"I did a lot for this guy..He did nothing for me" Here's the thing: The guy contributed to Seinfeld's relevance by being part of his fan base, watching his shows and paying attention to him. Without an audience there is no laughter, no lucrative contract.
