If you don't mind, I would like to point out a few things: - in Archdemon Mode, after any X attack or first A attack, you can perform Archdemon Dance/Hurricane Slash by pressing X+A. It's a shorter, a bit less powerful Demon Dance that deals heavy damage (especially on last hit), but eats some of your Archdemon gauge. - Demon Dance- first, it ISN'T the fastest way of gaining AD gauge- either A or A - > X loads it faster, and doesn't make you stand in one place for so long. Second, the most important parts of DD are the first and last hit- they do about 80% damage of the whole combo, so it's best to hit at least with them. - when in DM or ADM, dashing on ledge will make you do a really cool spinning aerial attack. Pressing X during it makes you dive down with another attack, which is not only powerful, but still counts as an aerial attack for the sake of mounting(even though it makes a few last hits on the ground) . - Spin Dash FTW. Overall, nice tutorial.
shinigamiPeter Hint: "when in DM or ADM, dashing on ledge will make you do a really cool spinning aerial attack" If u hit a Monster near his legs while spinning attack u 99% flip the monster right to the ground (or even mount it instantly if u do it perfect) and gives ur Team great oppurtunity to deal High Damage at the beginning seems like this Move has an "Charge" Timer 1 or 5 minutes. Perfect for Fights against Monster like Ukanlos right at the start just aim his legs whith dat Spinning Attack and u drop dat shit to the ground.
I've always thought the Dual blades sucked. After using them though they became my no.1 main weapon along with the Charge blade :'D Monster Hunter truly is a great series. Too bad it isn't that famous. Which is a good thing because that way the fanbase isn't as bad
Thank you for these videos. Also is anyone else super glad for the arch demon bar? It always felt like you didn't have any reason not to be in demo mode. I like this new bit of polish to the style.
Something that I would like to point out is the jump attacks while in Demon Mode. If you dash off a ledge you will do a really neat spin attack in the air, and if you press X while doing this spin attack, you will do a diving lunge attack. Depending on the distance you are from the ground while using this diving lunge, if you use the diving lunge right before touching the ground you land with a spin attack instead of just a normal landing. I'm not sure if anyone else figured this out so I thought I would just leave this here just in case :) Great video and I hope I helped!
Some things the video missed: 1- Demon mode will actually not end when you run out of stamina if you are making a combo, demon mode will continue infinetly untill your combo ends, so if you actually have a monster pinned, you can continue your infinite combo in demon mode untill something interrupts it (keep in mind you will not be able to dash out of the combo without stamina) 2- you do have a mini demon dance in Archdemon mode, by pressing X+A while attacking, its shorter, it eats a lot of the demon bar, but does lots of damage in less time than demon dance (its less damage tough). 3- While you have your normal jump attack that every weapon has, the dual swords have an special aerial attack that does insane damage and lots of aerial hits, but its a little tricky to do. First you need to be on Demon or Archdemon mode, then you need to have your weapon unsheated, and lastly, you need a ledge where you would normally jump off. What you have to do, is dash to the ledge, normally, without demon or archdemon, or with your blades sheated, you would do a small jump. But in this state, you will do a special dash while spinning and hitting everything in your way (you can see it near the end of the video actually), you can also press A again while you are falling and follow up with a second part of the attack wich you can time to hit the monster better. These attacks not only do lots of damage, they all count as aerial attacks, so if you hit them correctly, you can get a lot of hits to tumble the monster and mount it. 4- the special dash you get when in Demon and Archdemon mode is INSANELY usefull. You can spam it constantly to keep attacking and dodging at the same time, that attack (along with a few others from demon mode, like the demon dance and A+A) have Minds eye, so it can't bounce against anything, so its great to break tusks or other stuff that you can't hit with your current sharpness. Also, you can do this special dash and chain it with normal dashes (B) to do double dashes and get closer faster to the monster (keep in mind you will eat your archdemon bar faster while doing it).
My tutorial for Dual blades in MH4U 1. Use a Mega Dash Juice 2. Press X to unsheathe your weapon(s) 3. Press R 4. Spam X and A while occasionally dodging Boom
hands down, this is the best weapon class. As long as you have control of evasion, you can chain attacks, dodge, and repeat for the ultimate monster slaying experience.
they did NOT remove the demon dance from archdemon mode, it's just that they put it somewhere different. if you press x=a after your draw attack, you will perform the demon dance.
5:00 You actually get considerably more meter from a spin rush, i prefer to combo with attacks + spins until metered and only use dance when the monster has to take every slice.
Your bread and butter combos (during demon mode) build up the gauge much faster than Demon Dance will, and they don't require you to be stationary whilst doing them.
Fyi you can continue your indicate combo in demon mode even without stamina, as long as you're comboing you'll stay in demon mode. Good fit large stationary targets.
at about 6:59 you did this spinning attack off a ledge towards tetsucabra, now ive done this personally before but never by intent, what i would like to know is how you can do it on command, what commands, if you need to be in arch demon mode or normal demon mode or both etc. its usefull for toppling monsters off ledges vrs the standard jump/swing available to the DB
in demon mode, evade of ledge will do a vertical spin auto. x in the air afterwards will do a vertical. Continuing this combo on the ground can get you mounted onto a monster.
only bad thing about the demon dance is that it runs through sharpness REALLY fast (that's actually just the nature of the dual blades, but the demon dance is the move that runs through the most sharpness. I actually ran through two whole levels of sharpness once while doing the demon dance)
I was hoping you would bring it up, but any item that gives you unlimited dash bar for an amount of time is sooo usefuls for duals swords, as you can be in demon mode for a VERY long time, It can make any fight a ton easier
Please do an advanced weapon tutorial that calculates how much dmg it does per combo and whats the dmg multiplier with demon more or long swords 3 stages etc...
Question on Demon Mode: I've noticed that when my arch demon gauge is full, and I dash off a ledge, I can initiate, imo, a pretty devastating aerial combo, resulting in about 6-8 hits if successful (B off ledge + X). Is this only in Arch Demon or Regular demon mode as well? Thanks!
Question dude im runing a duel blade set but my friend told me to use the tetsucabra x gear i mean yea i get why i do tend to want to b in the fight and i and up geting hit alot but im just wandering if there is a good set of armor that will work well with duel blades and that also gives me good hp and df
theoretically arent the dual blades the best weapons in the game for inflicting status ailments like poison and paralysis? i say this because that would make sense since your using 2 swords and attack so quickly along with some of the ailment damage being pretty damn high on some weapons like the chameleos dual blades along with a armor set that increases your chances of inflicting them AND the food skill to increase it even more.
The upper green sword is your weapon's sharpness, below that one is your demon gauge bar. You can dash forward 6:31 and add some quick combos in this state (a.k.a archdemon mode) Actually its very well explained in the video. Every Class has different perks like for example in Bow instead of that sword you'll see the coating icons.
Jarred Frost i think he's talking about the black swordbar that doesn't fill up that's sitting right on top of the archdemon bar, not the sharpness one
I'm pretty certain it's just to illustrate dual blades, or perhaps just a shadow of the blade bar that fills up. Duel blades are my second most main'd weapon as of now and the black bar definitely doesn't have any use.
DB's are my primary weapon choice this video is very good comments also helped thanks to everyone this will make using DB's a lot better for me I use gore set super high doses when a monster rages my attack goes up love it
Any chance you could give some information on playstyle? You told us what it does but didn't give us much information on how to use it. I.e. should we trying and be in demon mode as much as possible and archdemon mode is just filler or is demon mode just for filling up the bar and archdemon is your main mode?
How strong is the Demo Charakter? Im a absolut Noob and needet nearly all of the 25 Minutes for this Ankylosaurus Frog thing. It was still a nice triumps in the Eye of a bloody Beginner, but I hope they didnt give me the best possible Weapon.
If you are having difficulties with keeping your stamina topped up at all times, you can also make dash juices which temporarily keep your stamina from depleting.
I can't believe this is one of the most popular Dual Blades tutorials for MH4U and this guy forgot so many crucial aspects of the weapon. The comments are all pointing out things that wasn't covered. What a load of crap.
I just can't handle any weapon besides this, not really. I started out with SA and I think I brought down a Great Jaggi before I decided to switch to these. I never looked back, I just love being fast with these things. Midgame I switched to the IG, Leumundslist, and brought down the Seltas Queen and Zinogre with it but I was just like "Nah, I want the DB back" and I crafted Usurper's Fulgur and now here I am.
lol "midgame" apparently there's this thing called G-RANK it's AWESOME also I've now gone through DB, LS, Hammer, and I'm currently using HH this game rules
Not a weapontype that is very versatile. I'm HR now and forged some decent HR dual blades, just for fun and to try them out. I took an LR Rathalos Quest after knowing how to use them. For something I could have done in 5 minutes with my IG, I took over 20 to defeat that annoying shithead. It might look nice and flashy, but when you're not able to land a great amount of combos, which is usual for how fast most monsters are moving, it's hard to deal the damage you have to deal to be effective.
***** Rathalos must be the most annoying thing to fight with DB. You gotta carry Flash Bombs in order to bring it down from the sky and get the combos on it. HG earplugs help as well so that you can trip it while it's roaring :)
It looks like the Dual Swords used here are from the "Zamitrios" weapon tree. So basically, hunt Zamitrios along with whatever else the weapon needs to be crafted.
I've just been calling Demon Mode "Swords Dance" like the Pokemon move, cause that's basically how it functions ;p
If you don't mind, I would like to point out a few things:
- in Archdemon Mode, after any X attack or first A attack, you can perform Archdemon Dance/Hurricane Slash by pressing X+A. It's a shorter, a bit less powerful Demon Dance that deals heavy damage (especially on last hit), but eats some of your Archdemon gauge.

I've seen runners use the ad spin while in demon mode how do you do that

Monster Hunter truly is a great series. Too bad it isn't that famous. Which is a good thing because that way the fanbase isn't as bad
Zayaan Nashrid and with the mega dash juice it's amazing!
After I startet the Demo, I instantly know this would be my Weapon of Choice. Its like the light Version of the Chaosblades,
And here we are 4 years later and the series is more famous in the west than it's ever been
mega dash juice + dual blades = FUN
Thank you for these videos. Also is anyone else super glad for the arch demon bar? It always felt like you didn't have any reason not to be in demo mode. I like this new bit of polish to the style.

so easy to mount with this. Better than insect glaive with just the amount of attacks.
I love using that attack to mount, it's a lot faster then the glaive, but doesn't go upwards.
The game that made me love dual wielding
It's good to note that demon dashing depletes the archdemon meter by a set amount when it's no longer full and glowing.
I've been using the dual blades totally wrong, very informative. Thanks.
I love the Dual Blades but the only bad thing is that your sharpness drops very very very fast, BUT still I LOVE them.
I think you forgot about the Ledge Spinning Attack when in Demon Mode/Arch Demon Mode
When you dash off an edge you'll do a verticle spinning attack
thats one of my favorite parts about Dual Blades. That. Attack. Is. So. Awesome. its also really great for mounting
Some things the video missed:

You can actually do somewhat of a demon dance when your charge is full if you combo in x and a after or inbetween an x combo.
Thx for the video! I was really confused about what the archdemon mode was all about. :^)

Excellent video, Really helped me learn the weapon so i can enjoy the game. How did you record this by the way? Its impressive without a camera.
Daul blades are my go to weapon honestly 👌😍

why isnt there an option to make the 4 trigger buttons to do attack stuff? i want to be able to move the camera while attacking
shit, nevermind. i realized you can set the ZL/R buttons to move the camera.
Great video! Any chance you can do Great Sword or Long Sword next?
Sure thing! The next video will be out Wednesday :)
Demon Mode+Dash Juice XD
what about the vertical left attack? Not exactly game-breaking but it does do slightly more damage, right?
so is evaison a good skill to have with DB and how do invinciblity frames work with the dash
Love those blades!!

You should include good skills and gear to use with the weapon type.
is there a reason the demon mode bar has a second swordbar behind it or is it just cause you have 2 swords and does nothing?
The upper green sword is your weapon's sharpness, below that one is your demon gauge bar.

Could you do an armor guide for dual swords?
Actually you can do the demon dance is archdemon mode you have to press x&a a lot
Does the dash give you any more s than the standard roll?
uhh what about the air attacks? they are also somehow differant arent they?
This allowed me to defeat so many 4 star monsters
What if you use demon mode with arch demon on? will it so super massive damage ? or is arch demon mode only for normal attacking(non demon mode)?
i see
Any chance you could give some information on playstyle? You told us what it does but didn't give us much information on how to use it. I.e. should we trying and be in demon mode as much as possible and archdemon mode is just filler or is demon mode just for filling up the bar and archdemon is your main mode?
I also want this. Help!
+Cameron Belknap Main mode regular fill the demon gauge with demon mode once you fill it up you temporarily go into archdemon mode.
+Cameron Belknap repeat the process
yea but is the idea to sit in archdemon mode as much as possible?
How strong is the Demo Charakter? Im a absolut Noob and needet nearly all of the 25 Minutes for this Ankylosaurus Frog thing.
It was still a nice triumps in the Eye of a bloody Beginner, but I hope they didnt give me the best possible Weapon.
How can you keep your stamina bar (the entire bar) from getting shorter? And how do you increase its max back?
Steak and Rations
Ohhhh. Thanks!!
If you are having difficulties with keeping your stamina topped up at all times, you can also make dash juices which temporarily keep your stamina from depleting.
I really want to use these with some mega dash juice! THE DEMON NEVER RESTS! :D
can we still get a mega dash juice in monster hunter 4?
Destiny! at the end.
How is this armor?
As in the skills you want?
What's the name of the dual blade in the demo?
It's one of the Zamtrios DB, probadly Cleaving Jaws. Nice little weapon, using both Ice and Water element.
Thanks for the info.
You didn't do about the two diffrant jump attacks
What is the dual swords he is holding? (Name?)
i like those 1000 degree blades
Just out of interest how did you get this game i didn't think it was available yet
The game isn't out till next month, but the demo is out at the moment :)
Thank you!
Equipment you're using ?
The demo equipment
this is my favorite weapon but what is yours
specific dual blades you're showcasisng? xD

apparently there's this thing called G-RANK
it's AWESOME
also
I've now gone through DB, LS, Hammer, and I'm currently using HH
this game rules
Do the dual blades have a jump attack?
Every weapon does however only the Insect Glaive and Lance can do a one without resorting to a ledge/cliff.
demon dance is not the best way to raise your meter it is your X attack into demon dance!
DUDE YOU CAN DO DEMON DANCE IN ARCH MODE. YOU NEED TO COMBO INTO IT.
Dual Blades are best used after drinking Mega Dash Juice
Not a weapontype that is very versatile. I'm HR now and forged some decent HR dual blades, just for fun and to try them out. I took an LR Rathalos Quest after knowing how to use them.

iinesySankka This isn't true at all. DBs are great for tripping. Focusing legs and "chain tripping" Los makes him fast and trivial.
how do get those dual blades
It looks like the Dual Swords used here are from the "Zamitrios" weapon tree.
So basically, hunt Zamitrios along with whatever else the weapon needs to be crafted.
how do u do demon dance
press r after youve already unsheathed your blades then press x and a at the same time i think
or a and b I forgot. For me I hust do it by instinct 😂
what dual blades or those
The ones from the demo
they're the zamitros ones. I think u can get them by upgrading the icicle daggers.
i usaly dont just spam deamondance in deamon modse i add it a bunch but dont just spam it and i DESTROY with this weapon still =P
This weapon is complicated
Make a tutorial, yet don't explain any skills or armor recommendations per weapon....that's literally the whole point for me
It was in the FUCKING DEMO. I don't care if this comment is nearly a year old, it was a dumb comment.
