- Naval vessels of the Philippines and the United States on Monday mounted heavy machine guns and fired at a buoy in the West Philippine Sea, east of several shoals being illegally claimed by China, as the Balikatan exercises continued outside the Philippines’ territorial waters.

This would have been the best time for the "BongoGago Frigates" to test their ASW capability by using the Wildcat in a real training scenario.Two ASW helicopters all the Philippine Navy have and they won't even use it for mock submarine targets.
There's no such place called 'West Philippine Sea' on official maps. 🤣

The seas and oceans are considered to be a 'global commons', which means that they belong to everyone and no one at the same time. However, countries do have the right to claim 'exclusive economic zones' (EEZs) up to 200 nautical miles from their coastlines.
