    The most unlikely storie ever, they did a mivie about Rudy who played a down or two of meaningless football and was offsides. What Stet has done is even harder to do. Great representative of UGA.

    In that moment when Kelee came down with the pick 6 we were all Stetson Bennett IV. Georgia doesn’t have all the nattys Bama has … and now all the haters have stopped saying “It’s been 41 years” and have switched to “it’ll be another 41 years” BUT I think I can say you won’t find a fan base that appreciates winning the natty more than Georgia’s. Bulldog nation was collectively ugly crying at that moment. And Stetson is the REAL Rudy!

      Been wondering that myself. He’s just as fast too (if not faster) and quicker on his feet. Against TCU he made some nasty throws too. And I don’t mean against a subpar defense type thing. Those had zip and tightness regardless of who was on the other side of the ball. Arm strength has vastly improved over these last two seasons

    "They had their guy"
    Proceed to bench Fields for Fromm and let Fields go to OSU 😒

    • @actails
      @actails 2 года назад +3

      They didn't "bench" Fields. Fromm was already the starter after winning the SEC and the Rose Bowl his true freshman year. The next year, 2018, Fromm was a true sophomore and Fields was a true freshman. Fields couldn't beat him out and transferred before the end of the season.

    • @calvinsimpson1301
      @calvinsimpson1301 2 года назад +1

      @@actails they made a conscious decision to keep Fromm as the starter to the detriment of the team. He definitely didn't fail to replace Fromm. The entire reason he decided on Georgia is because he was under the impression he'd be starting his sophomore year. That never happened, and he went on to be a beast at OSU and have borderline Heisman caliber numbers. He was the #1 dual threat qb in the country when he was recruited, beat out only by Trevor Lawrence as the #1 overall qb in the country. It was clear to everyone except the coaching staff at UGA apparently that Fields was our future

    • @actails
      @actails 2 года назад +5

      @@calvinsimpson1301 This is revisionist history. Go back and look up Fromm's stats in 2018. He was actually lights out. They lost one game in the regular season: at LSU with Burrow. Fromm playing didn't "detriment" the team at all. This is just flat out untrue. UGA won the East and in the SEC Champ against Bama, Fromm threw 300 yards, 3 TDs, no picks.
      You claim Fields was promised he'd be the starter by his sophomore, then why did he transfer out before the end of his freshman year? They ended their careers with one CFP win each, and zero Heismans each.
      Fast forward to now. The UGA staff that you claim is "clueless" now has a Natty with a walk-on, the Fields ranks last or next-to-last in every meaningful QB category in the NFL.

    • @calvinsimpson1301
      @calvinsimpson1301 2 года назад

      @@actails you can't use wins alone as a metric for which qb is better, that's nonsense. Georgia was stacked during Fromms tenure and he absolutely was not "lights out" compared to Fields. Fromm wasn't even remotely a heisman caliber player, and Justin was. They weren't even close to the same level of talent, and Justin showed that immediately as a starter his sophomore year at OSU. Fromm was efficient, but incapable of winning games on his own. You mention wins as a metric them bring up his 300 yard game against Bama in which we lost? We also lost the sugar bowl to Texas the following game, and in the regular season loss to LSU he went for 209 yards, 1 td, and 2 picks on 47% completions. I'd say it's hardly because he was playing against Joe Burrow he played badly. Joe Burrow didn't make Georgia score 16 points.
      Fields in the NFL is entirely meaningless to this topic. You're deflecting. Fromm has never played a down in the NFL, you sure you wanna go that route? Tebow was ass in the NFL. Josh Rosen, Sam Bradford, JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf. All elite college talents that didn't make it professionally. It has nothing to do with winning in college.

    • @actails
      @actails 2 года назад +4

      @@calvinsimpson1301 It's not a deflection, you're missing the larger point. You said the UGA staff didn't know what they were doing and "it was clear to everyone (else)...that Fields was our future". Those are your exact words. I think that's wrong; and the head coach who happens to be the defending national champion has a better assessment of who the QB should be than people on the internet.
      Don't put words in my mouth or make a strawman argument. I didn't say Fromm's college career was lights out compared to Fields'. And I never said they were anywhere close in talent. And I never said Fromm was a Heisman candidate. All I was said Fromm played lights out *IN 2018* and his play did not "detriment" the team. (Again, your exact word usage.) And that's what we're talking about. You have to make a decision with the information you have at the time. What Fields did at OSU in 2019 and 2020 doesn't matter when making a decision about who the QB should be in 2018. If you don't see that nuance, then so be it.
      If you want to argue about who is the better prospect, or who has more talent, or who had the more illustrious college CAREER, then you won't get an argument from me. But this whole "Fromm is Trash, Fields is Great, Kirby is Dumb" nonsense is out of order.

      @obi-juantacobi8552 2 года назад +6

      Ironic your name is Open the Mind because:
      His grandfather "Buddy" Bennett was born in 1938. Meaning the orginal Stetson Bennett would have had to been 75 or older when Buddy was born.
      But Reverand Stetson Bennett Sr was born in 1905... and he was a bootlegger before he became a minister, and was so poor he had to ride a donkey to churches to preach. He was so poor he was picking pecans for a local farm for money to feed his family
      Most old money slave owners weren't so poor they had to bootleg moonshine to feed their family nor so poor they had to ride mules.
      Even in Rev. Bennetts time the old money made more money by making the moonshine, not running it.
      Stetson parents are the ones who made his immediate family more well off as they both were pharmacists.
      So I guess you are in fact royalty.
      Also fun fact, Stetson's grandfather isn't Stetson Bennett Jr. That would be his great uncle. But Stetson Bennett Jr never had any sons so he and Buddy agreed the family name should continue so Buddy named his son Stetson Bennett III
